I will give this business 5+ stars. James is just a very nice down to earth guy who loves what he does. He offers VERY fair prices compared to the shops in town and comes to you. What more can you ask for? I will definitely put him on my speed dial as we have 3 eBikes and 3 teenagers who are rough on them. read more

First off Mr. James Patterson loves his BIKE MECHANIC assignments - and he knows what to do. He is on time, personable, and easy to talk too in regards of YOUR bike. He fixed OUR two electric bikes which go through brake problems because of their weight. He even wipes the bikes down, oil and lubes them, and takes them for a test spin which gives HIM a kick. At the end of the day the big thing is always money. Specifically he is extremely reasonable and worth every dime. Bottom line is get on his schedule and get YOUR bike up running again. Remember to always ride responsibly and avoid all conflict - and for heaven's sake CALL HIM for any bike problem. read more

Did a great job replacing my shifter cables at a fair price. Easy to schedule, on time, knowledgeable. I highly recommend.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with James today on my bike, long overdue for a maintenance job. With a friendly demeanor and a wide girth of maintenance knowledge, not only was James willing to show me the ropes but he did so by providing advice and being vulnerable and compassionate. Bike Medic Plus - Bike medic mobile workshop. Pretty frigen rad! - Bike Repair/Maintenance Near Me

One of the nicest and most genuine guys out there. Would've talked with me all day if he didn't have another appointment to get off too. Showed up on time, was very communicative, and even paid a cheaper price than originally quoted online. He also knows everything there is too know about street and road bikes. A 40 minute appointment got my bike running great and gave me more knowledge than I ever had before. 10/10 guy with 10/10 service. He even gave me his number and said to text him with any other questions I might have about biking in general. I would highly recommend and will definitely be contacting him again. read more

From start to finish, he is the real deal. When i made the appointment a reply email was sent back with his name and cell phone number along with an appointment the following business day. He was there, on time, and was very friendly and inviting. It took him about an hour to adjust, inspect and lubricate all the parts. I had put different wheels on a few days before the tune up and he found that the chain was stretched and the cassette was also very worn. I knew that both needed replacing due to that it had been through endless commutes and two Ironman events. He had all the parts in stock and replaced it right there. The details made the difference such as ends of the gear shifting cables were freshly capped and everything was was wiped down even in the places i could not reach. He made the prices very clear and said he would not go over unless he called me first. He sent me a receipt and felt very comfortable with the whole thing. Very fair and will use him again. read more

We have two new e-Bikes. One needed a pedal assist repair, and the other needed tuning. James the Bike Medic was awesome because 1) he responded to my inquiry (text him); 2) he was available to come in a timely manner (days, not weeks/months); 3) he makes house calls; 4) he knew how to repair our bikes, had the equipment, and got the job done fast; and 5) he was very affordable, and a nice person, too. I highly recommend James, the Bike Medic. read more

Great service, great prices, terrific convenience. James was awesome. Came to my home, and serviced 4 bikes for my family. NIce discount on additional bikes. Felt like I got better service and pricing than a bike store, and so much more convenient. He comes to YOUR house! Awesome. read more

After recently moving to northern San Diego and having purchased a bike cross country a few months prior, I was nervous about putting my new focus tri bike together. I had been to several local shops and each one seemed to have more attitude than the last. That is when I stumbled upon James and the bike medic on yelp. Not only did he respond quickly, I had an appointment the first day I was available. He showed up on time which is always a plus and was super enthusiastic...something I can't say about the four bike shops I had previously been too. He showed me how to put the bike together while also having a great conversation. Having spent a few thousand dollars on this bike, not once was I nervous having James work on it. I highly recommend James for all your biking needs. He's very knowledgeable and again, enthusiastic and passionate about his business. Thanks again! read more

Easy to schedule. Fast and professional service. Reasonable pricing. And the chance to check out a really cool refurbished vw van!

James is quick, fair and overdelivers. Not often do you get to choose all 3: good, cheap, fast.

He was on time , friendly , informative and prices were fair , oh and he did a great job!

When the bike store I'd used in the past closed, I contacted James and I am thrilled that I did. I was able to get an appointment within days of calling. He arrived on time, his work is high quality, and his prices are very reasonable. He even took the time to show me how to do certain adjustments and also showed me a better bike chain lubricant to use. I highly recommend him. read more

James is the BEST bike "medic" we've ever hired! Our bikes are parked outside by the beach and they get trashed by the salt and moisture. James made our bikes look and feel brand new. His quotes are accurate, scheduling with him is easy and he shows up on time, plus he kept a tidy work space in the driveway and left it as clean as he found it. And, on top of all his great service, he's a SUPER nice guy! Highly recommend :-) read more

James was super friendly and fast! my bike went from being loose and dangerous, to solid and tight in 45 mins flat. he even offered to look out for used tires on the newer side for me if anyone of his customers get rid of theirs. Hes got that going above and beyond for you, neighborly, small business mentality. highly recomended. read more

Reliable, knowledgeable, reasonably priced... James does quality bike repair work at your doorstep! What more could anyone ask for?

Great mechanic and a nice person too. Comes to you and at very reasonable rates. Fixes all types of bikes Recommended

Amazing service! I spoke with James on a Friday and he was able to come the next morning, so I could get some riding in on the weekend. When I saw his gorgeous refurbished VW van pull in the drive, with tools organized in the back, I knew this was a man who takes pride in his mechanics. Mine was not a big job--replace the brake pads and adjust the brakes on one road bike. But in his short visit James accomplished so much more. He fixed a cable housing problem that was causing the gears to skip while climbing (a connection, not the housing, which I could never have figured out) ; cleaned and lubed a bunch of parts; tightened some bolts on another bike; and showed me how to clean the chain with lube quickly. (I merely mentioned problems I was having and he quickly assessed and fixed the causes.) I asked him to charge me for all the little bits but he wouldn't. The cost for this fast, experienced service was extremely reasonable. James fixed a bunch of problems I couldn't do or couldn't get around to, in about a half hour. My two road bikes are now safer and more enjoyable to ride. And maybe I'll be cleaning the chains more often. Thanks James, see you again! read more

Fantastic service and extremely friendly! Prices are awesome and he knows how wfix bikes! Definitely recommend!

James is first class! I needed a custom modification to my bike for my disability. He made my kmx Cobra into a one-armed operated trike. He took his time to ensure that my new trike met all of my needs. As a disabled veteran, trying to get back into shape , James and his expertise were put to the test. I would recommend him for all your special bike/trike needs! Semper Fi! read more

A real honest-to-goodness gem! I brought my bike and my wife's bike here for major tuning/overhaul. These are older bikes that had broken parts and hadn't been ridden in a long time... They needed a lot of work beyond just a tuneup (replaced shifters, brakes, cables, tubes, etc.) We were beyond thrilled with the results, the quality of the service, and the incredible value for our money spent! I don't think anyone could possibly ask for a better bike technician than James. This guy is in this business because he obviously loves bikes... And, apparently, loves to help other people ride their bikes! His integrity, enthusiasm, thoroughness, and overall exceptional manners (not to mention extremely reasonable prices), in my mind, make him the only guy in north county to consider. Anyone will, without a doubt, be very happy they called James for help with their bike. Get him while you can! read more
