Desparate for a new kitchen, we came across Top Leader and their rep, Ilan Harir. Ilan was amazing from start to finish. He provided us a very reasonable quote for all of the work and got started right away. The project did get extended longer than we thought, but this was simply a function of the pandemic and not for any other reason. My wife and I could not be happier with the final product. We have a brand new beautiful kitchen, open air format into our new family room and our friends and family cannot stop raving about it when they come over. I would highly recommend Top Leader and Ilan and his crew. Particularly Milo and his son...they are simply the best in the business at what they do.

We hired Navid to replace the carpet in our living room with LVP flooring. I received several…read morequotes, most from flooring companies, but Navid was the only general contractor. His pricing was significantly lower, and he also offered to handle additional work such as upgrading our fireplace and adding kitchen lighting, which made the proposal appealing. I'll start by saying this, if your main goal is to get a job completed quickly and cost-effectively, and you're not overly concerned with fine details or specialty level craftsmanship, Navid may be a reasonable option. The flooring was installed and the fireplace was upgraded. We ultimately decided not to proceed with the lighting after seeing the quality of work, though he was willing to do it. For us, there were two main issues. First, flooring quality and attention to detail. The cuts around complex areas, particularly where the flooring meets the stairs, were uneven and covered with molding rather than being cut cleanly to match the angles. Flooring specialists typically handle these transitions more precisely, you can see every picture posted by flooring company, no molding is used where LVP meets the stairs. Additionally, the installation process lacked care for the finished surfaces. There was no floor protection used, and Navid + his helper walked across the new planks in regular shoes. As a result, we noticed scratches and small chips very early on. The subfloor was also not leveled, which led to minor bounce in several areas over time. Where the flooring meets tile in other rooms, there is a visible slope and noticeable sinking when stepped on. These issues became more apparent after the project was completed, and while they may not bother everyone, they were significant for us. I've added some photos to show this. Second, a professionalism issue during the job. One area with a noticeable dip was partially leveled (per my request) during installation. However, leftover concrete was poured onto our property and into the sidewalk without our consent. This led to a heated disagreement, including an inappropriate threat of placing a lien on our home. The explanation given was that this was done to "help" by stabilizing loose rocks, but the situation and how it was handled were very disappointing. We settled the matter at the end but it was very disappointing for this to happen.

SUMMARY: I hired Shafi to install 2 toilets and a shower head on August 18, 2025. He did so as…read morerequested; HOWEVER, in the process, he accidentally damaged our garage door by closing the garage door onto the old toilets. This was an unfortunate accident, but he was aggressive in his response, refused to be liable for the damages, and accused my husband and I of trying to essentially swindle him to repair our garage. Photo and video evidence of his damages included in the review. I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I cannot, in good conscience, let this go unanswered. Full story: I found Shafi via Home Depot Pro Referral and hired him to install 2 toilets and a shower head. I was not home at the time of the install because I took my dog to my parent's house to make sure Shafi could install everything without being disturbed by my dog. My husband was home the entire install. Shafi realized there was a part missing in one of the toilets, so he went to home depot to buy the additional part. As he was leaving, he closed the garage door but unfortunately the way the toilets were positioned, the sensors did not detect an obstruction and closed onto the toilets. (Photos of damage and video of occurrence attached to review). My husband heard the garage door make a loud noise, but as he works from home, he was in a meeting and could not check the situation then subsequently forgot about the situation. I come home as Shafi is finishing up the install. The garage door is open at this time, so I do not notice anything awry. He finishes the install and shows me everything works. I pay him for his services immediately. After he leaves, I go into the garage and immediately notice how much light is filtering through the garage door which is not normal and ask my husband if anything happened and he updates me on the noise he heard. I text Shafi about what happened and he ADMITS THE GARAGE DOOR CLOSES ON THE TOILETS (texts included in review as well). I ask Shafi to open up an insurance claim to handle the damages and he responds aggressively and claims that we are trying to scam him. I did not want to fight with him so I contact Home Depot Pro Referral support to escalate the case to see if they can handle the situation as Shafi was obviously not being helpful. Unfortunately, Home Depot denied responsibility as well due to their referrals being independent contractors and not employees of Home Depot, I have since reached out to Shafi again for him to take responsibility of the damages, but he has left me on read. I will reiterate that he did complete the job as asked for but his response to me asking him to take responsibility for the damages he caused was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Luckily the damages were only a few hundred dollars, but since accidents could happen to anyone, we would not recommend Shafi for your future home projects given his propensity to avoid taking responsibility for his actions.

Fear! That was why I never had done remodeling before. You hear all the horror stories of bad…read morecontractors - taking too long, doing a half-assed job, while going 50% over budget. Then, I got a slab leak. No choice but to do something. I have two bathrooms. At the time, they could have been on "world's worst bathrooms"; hideous 1970's "décor" with disco lighting and stained, pattern linoleum flooring. The shower stall had a plastic, accordion-style door with magnets on each end (who DOES that?!). I figured, whatever a contractor does, can't be worse. Then, I found Zachi of S & B Construction on yelp. Best thing I ever did for my home was to call Zachi. My house and my quality of enjoyment of it, and my view of what a contractor can be, have completely and utterly changed. I could tell from the moment he came over to do the bid he was great, and he only exceeded all my expectations throughout the job. He and his team completely gutted both baths, and now I have two bathrooms that are essentially luxury hotel baths. They are beautifully done (everyone says so!). He put in stone tile showers (with glass accent tile - it's so awesome!), a deep soaking tub, custom glass shower doors, stone floors, wood vanities with granite countertops, and custom lighting. They're bright and colorful (that's my taste!), and it makes me happy just to enter the rooms. The job was done from start to finish in three weeks. Yes, that fast! That included Zachi arranging for the plumbing inspections and everything. We never had to worry about any of it! Zachi was there every step of the way, from design (he met up with us to buy the materials - it was great!) to finishing touches, and we could not have done it without him. Actually, his intuition is terrific, because he even had some better ideas than we did! I liked all the workers on his team. They were polite and courteous, very hard working, and always on time. Zachi was constantly supervising their progress, as well as always available and responsive to questions. Here's what I'm certain of. Zachi wants the customer to be happy. I asked lots of questions and wanted specific things. I only ever had to ask for something once; Zachi ALWAYS remembered without my reminding him of things and always got them done! Even things I just mentioned once during the bid got done. This is important, too. He always left us with a "usable" house during the renovation. Although he did both baths, he staggered the demolition and renovation, so we always had the basic facilities. At night and especially on weekends, he'd make sure the house was cleaned up enough for us to do what we needed. Budget? The job was done to the budget on the nose (I went over by a few hundred, because I picked out an extra accent tile), even though things happened (e.g., the plumber had to put in an access panel for one of the showers). The budget was extremely detailed (way more than any others we had been given), so you knew exactly what to expect. Amazing! On a personal level, Zachi is smart, super nice and pleasant to work with. I can't thank Zachi enough. Bad day at work, I head to my gorgeous soaking tub, the world falls away and aaaahhhhh! Can't beat that. I love my house. Actually, it's more of a home now. Because of Zachi. You'd be very lucky to work with him. So, Zachi, there's this matter of my kitchen, now...

He was fast and professional and in and out of my house 3 times within 3 days in total and both sets of shower sliding doors are now fixed. He charges by hours, but his charge was very ethical and reasonable. I felt that he undercharged me. We hadn't used one of the showers for years because the shower doors were falling apart, so I am so grateful that it's finally fixed.

He was straight-forward and to the point and most of all, a great communicator. He was friendly and made us feel very comfortable. He always made sure we were updated each day about what workers were coming and where we were in terms on progress. The city caused us some delays in attaining the city permit but Pete and this company helped us get through it. When we initially got estimates from other companies, we emphasized we wanted a city permit because we are tearing down a wall. The other companies gave us low-ball estimates because they felt a city permit wasn't necessary. Pete understood and worked with us and we got it. His final cost matched his estimate almost to the penny. We requested a few change orders and he was very accommodating. The workers were hard-working and made every attempt to not disturb us while we were in other parts of the house. I think it's important to note that Pete knew we had a budget for this job and made sure he stuck with his original estimate. We are retired folks so keeping to the budget means a lot. I think Pete knew this and made sure to make this happen. Thank you so much for the great job. We are very happy with our new kitchen and dining room.
