I've always had an amazing experience at Vela. Sulee always knows where I have the most tension and she consistently delivers the right amount of pressure. read more

We had a wonderful experience at Vela! The receptionist, Desiree was so friendly and organized. We felt welcome right away with some hot tea and a calm environment. We did a couples massage and I had Sarah and felt that she did an incredible job! I was very relaxed and appreciated the pressure and maneuvers. I do recommend going to Vela! read more

Don't go there Worst customer service didn't like the massage and also the Front desk is really rude. read more

I just went to Vela for the first time and saw Pim as she came recommended in other reviews. She was wonderful and gave me exactly what I needed! I love Thai massage and she was fantastic. As mentioned in other reviews this place really is no frills but honestly you don't need them when you're paying such a great price and getting a fantastic service. I'll definitely be coming back on a regular basis and make massage a part of my self care routine because it's so accessible and great here. read more

After being a loyal customer for two years, I was shocked by how Vela Massage handled a simple scheduling issue. I asked to change the time of my appointment and was still charged a cancellation fee. There was no effort to resolve the situation, no flexibility, and the communication was extremely unprofessional. I felt disrespected as a long-time client and treated like my loyalty meant nothing. This experience completely changed my view of the business. Very disappointing. read more

I had my first massage here with Pim and it was the best massage I have ever gotten (seriously)!! I get massages at least once a month and found this place on Yelp with high regards on TikTok as well - let me tell you I was not disappointed. She was super attentive to the areas I wanted to focus on and could really tell where the work needed to be done. Will be coming back here often! read more

10/10 - An absolute hidden gem. This is, without question, the best massage studio I've ever visited. Remarkably high-quality service at an incredibly reasonable price. I'm genuinely impressed and already looking forward to making this a monthly ritual. If you're on the fence, do yourself a favor and book an appointment. You won't regret it. read more

I went for the first time to Vela to get a massage. I booked my appt with Cha and she was amazing! I told her to focus on my neck, head and shoulders as that is where I felt the most pain. I have never had anyone work on my neck for as long as Cha did. She released so many tight knots and my neck feels so much better. I'm beyond grateful to Cha for the incredible massage! I will definitely be back :) read more

Used my ClassPass credits to book a 60 minute deep tissue massage & my masseuse Sarah was Amazing! Really targeted the spots I requested and released the pain & tension I was feeling in my traps and neck. Highly recommend. Very pleasant experience read more

Typically when I get a massage, I like deep tissue massages for the pressure. However, I just got off a flight and wanted a more relaxing massage and made reservations for a swedish massage. I felt the massage was more like a deep tissue though. I thought about saying something but that's my usual go-to so I just went with it. It was a decent massage. The location is not very relaxing though as it is adjacent to a bar with loud music. It might be better to come here when it's not happy hour / late afternoon because the walls were bumping with the loud music and chatter next door. The massage is a 4/5. Location is a 3/5. read more

Worst massage that I have ever had!!! And the worst part was when I came to the front desk and tell that to them, they say it is what it is and ask me to pay and leave. Don't go there! read more

Have been going here for three years - affordable and every time I have an incredible experience and leave feeling relaxed.

I scheduled a 50 min Swedish massage and it was wonderful ! They recommended parking across the street at the park (plenty of spaces) and there are a few spots on the street in front. When you walk in you're instantly transported into a more zen vibe. There's a small waiting area with a reception desk and sofa. After being greeted by the receptionist I filled out your standard , brief , spa forms . Shortly after I was led to my room. The room I had seemed to be available for a couple's massage, but I was able to have it all to myself. There was a small locker available in the room to store my belongings as well as the massage table. I wish I had gotten my masseuse's name because she did a great job. She started off wiping my limbs with a warm cloth and instantly got into the massage using a nice warm oil. She paid extra attention to the places I mentioned on my intake form . All and all this was an enjoyable experience. If you're looking for a straightforward spa experience (and don't mind a limited amount of extra frills) - this is the perfect place ! read more

Found Vela through a Google search and booked a massage for my birthday! It was affordable and one of the best massages I have ever gotten.

I sincerely appreciate the quality of the massage therapist in this place. However, the receptionist was passive aggressive in handling a cancellation. He never requested my credit card and never informed me about cancellation fees so he couldn't charge me due to his lack of diligence. This guy hung up on me and said nothing to me when I still showed up for my massage out of respect and tried to communicate with him. Incompetent ways of handling conflicts and will not step foot there again. read more

The owner was absolutely rude! Very disrespectful! I booked an appointment for my mothers birthday and the receptionist was very kind to me and due to my mom running a few minutes late due to unplanned traffic on the PCH AND THE RECEPTIONIST was the one who told us to just come at 3:30 instead of our 1pm Appointment and then the OWNER called me while I was riding on my motorcycle and told me I'd have to pay another $160 for the couples massage on top of the $160 I already paid just to RESCHEDULE. Then told me not to come back if I don't want to pay which was highly RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL and yelled at me over the phone. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. read more

Came here for the first time based on the reviews. Place definitely needs a remodel. I was actually surprised when I walked in. All in all my masseuse Tania got right down to business, no talking, but a friendly smile. She did a great job, as I am always hesitant with the pressure of my massages. I would come back and do recommend this place if you want a no frills massage. read more

Had my first massage with Monè and she was amazing! Highly recommend, it could not have been a better experience.

Sulee did an amazing job with neck stiffness that I was experiencing from overuse. The knot has all but disappeared after just one session. I definitely plan on going back. Highly recommend Sulee! read more

Obsessed!!! I've truly tried massages everywhere. I feel like people never actually listen to what I want and I leave disappointed. I saw Nine on a couple of Wednesday nights and she is truly phenomenal. The place feels super clean, the front desk is nice, and the vibes are all-around great. Compared to anything else in the area, Vela is beyond the best option if you want to feel better and truly relaxed. Can't wait for my next one! read more

I had amazing relief with my massage therapist Kate. She is amazing at what she does. She zoomed right in on the knots in my upper back that were driving me nuts. Her hands are magic, I swear! I never write reviews but I had to come on to write one for them!! I got cupping done and it was the best cupping experience I have had! I booked thru ClassPass so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was such a relaxing experience that included a full massage. Honestly a really great deal. Highly recommend Sulee, she definitely cared about my concerns and did such a great job! She was so so sweet as well. 10/10 experience. Definitely check them out!! read more

So happy I found this place. Have been to a few other massage places and chiropractors offices in the area in the last few months trying to fix the pain I've had in my back and shoulders for months. Nothing helped fix it even when I asked for deep pressure and described the pain I've been having. After coming here, within a few days my pain was gone. I asked for a deep tissue massage and I definitely got it. It was not a relaxing type of massage but it's fine because what I really needed was someone to really get into those tension areas that have been causing me problems! I know they do more Swedish style as well which I would also come in and try when I don't need as much of a deep tissue. I will definitely be back! read more

I woke up one morning with horrible back soreness, I looked everyone in Santa Monica for a massage and couldn't get an appointment anywhere! Luckily I stumbled upon Vela Massage Studio and was able to book an appointment and I am so glad I did! Alice asked my preferred pressure and I told her I wanted deep tissue to alleviate my soreness. She was so sweet and kind but damn she is strong! If you like deep tissue, hard pressure massage I highly recommend Alice! For the amazing price & service - I will definitely be back! read more

I've had too many massages that are on par with the kind you get from your tipsy friend at a party. Kanda is a knowledgeable, trained and skilled professional masseuse, and she knows exactly which muscles to work and how. Truly therapeutic! I can physically feel stress tension leaving my body. The location is super convenient with tons of parking across the street in a public lot, and the facilities are fresh, clean and always smell wonderful. Five stars all the way. read more

First impression is very important and Vela Studio made such a great first impression! When I walked into the studio for the first time, whatever aroma they have in there set up a relax and good vibe already. The cleanliness and the minimal decoration gave a good boost to my visit as well. My masseuse 'Kanda' is one of the best I have ever had. I have to say that she really know muscles! Where do I start, I absolutely love Vela Massage Studio! I initially found this gem on ClassPass in November and this has become my go-to spot since then. I've had sessions with Sulee, Tak and Douglas, and they were all wonderful. Each therapist has been so attentive and intentional in the service they provide, and after each session I left feeling incredibly relaxed, calm and grounded. Everyone on the Vela team is so kind, warm and welcoming, and I'm super grateful to have found this studio. I would 100% recommend and look forward to the next sessions to come, truly a special place! read more
