I stumbled upon Sacred Splendor after looking around massages nearby and highly recommend this place. It is cozy, clean, and relaxing! Sophia is so knowledgeable, friendly, and a fantastic masseuse! She took the time to understand what my body needed and provided tips on how I can improve my daily life to make any pain go away and prevent any injuries. She is so easy to talk to and go above and beyond for her service. Would definitely go back! read more

I've trusted Sophia with my body for years, but seeing her for the first time during my twin pregnancy took my appreciation for her to a whole new level. The pain of carrying twins had become my constant companion until she reminded me what it feels like to walk without discomfort, to feel at home in my own body again. One session. Real, lasting relief. I cannot recommend her enough. She is truly a blessing. read more

Sophia is SO SO wonderful! I can't say enough good things. I am so so happy I found her because she has not only been a wonderful massage therapist but also friend. She has a comfortable studio where you can get all of your tension massaged away. This is leaps and bounds beyond the standard massage parlor massage. She really knows technique that soothes and relaxes without causing pain. I always get a deep tissue but she will work on whatever is needed and tailor her massage to the specific needs I have each session. I never do any less than an hour because it's really that good. Would highly recommend anyone looking for one of the best massages out there, to book right away!! read more

Sophia has been an important part of my prenatal and postnatal journey. She gave me the best prenatal massages that offered a lot of pain relief and reprieve from the general discomfort of pregnancy. Her professionalism allowed me to feel comfortable while also navigating my awkward body! I have continued to see her for ongoing care and she really works her magic to create relief from all kinds of aches, pains, strains and tension. Now that I am no longer pregnant, she is able to use other techniques that really hone in on and resolve pain areas. Her place is really comfy and her disposition creates a relaxing environment. I always look forward to seeing Sophia. read more

On top of this being the most relieving massage I've ever had, I believe what makes this place so special is Sophie's welcoming energy, from the moment that you walk through the door she makes you feel safe and taken care of. Beyond this being a great massage experience Sophie will make sure she knows where you're at physically and mentally in order to make sure she release tension where you need it most and let me tell you, she will not give up. During the session I could feel how the tension was melting off my body, something I've never experience before while getting a massage. Sophie's hands are healing and I cannot recommend her enough. read more

Sophia is a true healer. I've been searching high and low to find someone like her, literally across state lines and finally here she is, in my current neck of the woods. When I arrived, she ushered me back like a fairy leading me to their secret garden. We entered a whimsical patio and then the massage room where years of built up tension was released. And it didn't end there - she recommended food, drinks, readings, and exercises to keep the healing process going after I left. I'm looking forward to the next massage already! If you're looking to treat yourself or someone else to some much needed massage therapy, this is the place. read more

Finding Sophia in Santa Monica was one of life's little miracles. I was experiencing upper and lower back pain, along with chronic fatigue. Sophia was incredibly intuitive and powerful. I have had a number of massages in my life, but can hands down say this was the best I have ever had. She massages in a highly intuitive way that shifts energy and radically improves physical ailments. She was able to undo two VERY tight knots in my shoulders that I assumed would take months of yoga to work out. I can't recommend Sophia enough. Not only is she intuitive and powerful, she is also professional and so welcoming. She creates a safe atmosphere, so much so that you don't want to leave! I will definitely head on back to Main Street for a massage the next time I am in Santa Monica! read more

Sophia is absolutely the best of the best when it comes to massage therapy in LA! She is very kind and listens carefully to your concerns so that she can help fix your aches and pains. I realized that I have been wasting my money on cheap massages after my first session. I have horrible neck/back stiffness and pain accompanied by muscle spasms. The pain is residing slowly thanks to Sophia's magic touch. I am so grateful to have found Sophia. If you don't make an appointment with her, you're seriously missing out. Very unique and highly relaxing experience in general. read more

Sometimes the universe provides what you need when you truly need it. Sophia is such a gift. I moved last year, and took on a new, very demanding assignment. Self-care took a back seat for much too long while both work and personal life were in super high gear. As I began to emerge from the most stressful period, I began to acknowledge that this particular work, while rewarding, places unusual demands on my energy, mind and body. Thanks to Yelp, I discovered Sophia. Sophia is different than any masseuse I have been to before. The combination of great qualities is truly unique. She is: - a gifted, lovely and kind person - an exceptional empath, incl. but certainly not limited to physical empathy, that steers her directly to your problem areas, including some you might not even be aware of until she gets there! - a very simple but well thought out intake that allows her to tailor your massage uniquely to you and your needs or preferences, including injuries or chronic problems - well-organized and consistent with bookings, reminders, and other communication - the right amount of verbal check-in during a massage - a source of lovely, positive, warm energy - a source of knowledge and recommendations for products, exercises and other well-being activities specific to you I also love the simplicity of the products she uses (essential oils) as I am not a fan of artificial scents and fragrances. And as someone who can neglect self-care, I like her gentle reminders at departure to ice certain areas she worked more heavily on, drink extra water, etc. Her studio is calm, quiet, and cozy. Parking is easy. Sophia has become a cornerstone of my improved self-care program. I am grateful to have found her and would recommend her most highly. read more

I am currently 19 weeks pregnant and am so happy to have met Sophia!!! I spent 90 minutes with her today for a prenatal massage and felt absolutely rejuvenated after our session. It's like my body was screaming out things I couldn't figure out and we needed Sophia as a vessel to translate what's going on with me, especially in this vulnerable state of my life. Pregnancy is definitely a tricky journey (different from person to person) and she was able to figure out my body's current hardship and recommend so many things for improvement of myself and baby (physically, mentally and spiritually). I cannot thank you enough Sophia and I will for sure be back to see you! read more

I had debilitating ankle, shoulder, arm and back pain. My doctors, after 9 months, had been completely unsuccessful in addressing the issues (torn left ankle ligament & herniated C6/C7 in my neck) other than my PT who resurrected my back to 65% of normal. In truly horrible pain, I looked for a masseuse near my home that might help. I was very concerned I'd get somebody who made it worse. Truly lucky day finding Sophia at Sacred Splendor. 1st visit - worked on my ankle and I went from 5 min of slow walking outside/day to 45 min 2x/day within 2 weeks of my visit. 2nd visit a month later - sensed part of my back issue was my left hip had been impacted by my left ankle and needed to be realigned. 35% of back pain that PT/doctors couldn't solve - fixed. Literally. 3rd visit - continued to advance left ankle work and I can walk barefoot again. She also went to work on shoulders unlocking both in such a way that I can feel it healing. Couldn't be more impressed. I don't bother with reviews - there are more than enough out there, but for this - I'll bother. A few years ago, I had 2 back surgeries (one an L4/L5 spinal fusion). I feel quite certain that had I known Sophia when the gym injury first occurred, I would NEVER have needed those surgeries. If you visit her, listen and follow her advice. read more

A truly amazing experience here at Sacred Splendor. As someone else had mentioned , I too thought massages were just massages until I came here. Very professional and relaxing setting. I loved the surrounding area and the cafe across the street. The ambiance is so serene and beautiful from The music to the aromas it really highlights the massage and you truly feel in a relaxed zone. Ask for Sofia- she is truly wonderful. She listened to my needs and by the end I felt like I was floating on water. This is my second time coming here and I will definitely continue to come back! 5 stars!!! Highly Recommended!!!! read more

Sophia is wonderful! I am able to easily get either same day appointments or appointments in the next few days. Prices are reasonable and Sophia is extremely intuitive and talented with her hands. Good vibes and energy with her and I always leave feeling refreshed physically and emotionally. Parking is a bit annoying because of location, but that's unavoidable in this part of town. Meters are everywhere but just make sure to keep an eye on the time. read more

Sophia was amazing! I was visiting Santa Monica and on a whim decided to get a massage to treat some lingering pain from an and injury and I am so glad I found Sophia! She took the time to understand my needs and clearly had experience with my injury and others who have had it. She is amazing at what she does. The massage was wonderful and incredibly therapeutic, I left feeling more refreshed than I had in months. Sophia was kind enough to include some hot stone treatments-- which were key in addressing some of my more tense muscles. And ended with a relaxing head massage. She also provided me with links and tools to help continue to treatment and recovery. I am just bummed that I can't see her more regularly, but I can't recommend her highly enough to those on the Santa Monica area! read more

We live in London and spent Christmas in CA to visit friends and see the sun. We were introduced to Sophia through a friend who sees her regularly and she was amazing! She fit us into her busy schedule and not only did she give us a great massage but also provided some ideas on how to deal with/treat some of the ailments we both suffer and for me, that makes her extra special. We will definitely be booking in during our next visit. If you are visiting the Santa Monica area, book in! read more

Fantastic masseuse, very deserving of all the great reviews. We were in town for a few days and my wife's back was really bothering her. We found Sophia and struck gold! She's very attentive and has concern for her clients. I called to make the appointment but got her voice mail. Within 5 minutes we received a detailed text asking what type of massage we were looking for with her rates. Via text, we were able to set an appointment it the next day. Her final text gave very detailed directions to her place along with parking options/directions. My wife loved her massage, she was able to give some much needed relief to her back pain and even sent a text the next day to ask how she was feeling. She's a solo act, we were lucky to get in so quickly. If we lived in the area, we'd be weekly clients. We will still be back next time we're in The area. read more

Sophia is a true gem! After seeing her stellar reviews, I decided to give her a visit due to having back pain from occupation related tension. She went above and beyond giving me both a customized therapeutic massage (complete with aromatherapy!) and holistic advising for prevention of future tension, including a vast array of recommendations and exercises. She tailored the entire experience to my individual needs, comfort level, and diagnoses. It is clear that she has a dedicated investment and care for her clients as individuals. Not to mention she is a lovely, friendly person-- I left feeling much better and will definitely be back! read more

I was new to getting massages and had recently had a pinched nerve and back spasm near my tail bone which was extremely painful, and several friends and my doctor recommended I explore getting a deep tissue massage. I went to Sophia two months ago and had an amazing deep tissue massage, and my pain lessened considerably. After that, I did my due diligence research wise and tried three other massage therapists, including Burke Williams. Here's what I realized: -You need someone experienced who understands different body types and realizes without you telling them constantly where there is pain and soreness - you need someone who will be able to find it and ease it -You need someone private who makes you feel comfortable and like you are not part of a factory -If you really want pain relief, you do not need the teas, the juices, the robes, and the fifty other chatty people around you So, last week, I went back to Sophia for a deep tissue massage and added a thirty-minute scalp massage as well. Best decision of my life. She's attuned to homeopathy which I love, the location is simple, private, and comfortable, and most importantly, she did the most for my pain than any of the other places did. I will keep going to her regularly. Thank you, Sophia! read more

After a strenuous couple months of work I finally decided that I needed a massage and messaged Sophia who unlike other massage therapists answered straight away and was able to offer an appointment on the same day. I came in with tons of tension and a bad headache but after the massage I was truly TRANSFORMED. Headache was gone and my tension on my leg and neck unravelled. Sophia send me some exercices to do that could ease the tension throughout my days which was very helpful and thoughtful of her. Also her massage place is super cute and cozy, very relaxing. It's the morning after my massage and I feel fantastic. I came in with tightness and pain in my lower back, and Sophia worked it all out. She was very attentive, thorough, and patient throughout the massage. During massages, I like to know what's going on and she did a great job of explaining her findings and methods. After the massage, she sent me recommended stretches and a lot of other useful information. Can't recommend her enough. Looking forward to my next massage! read more

I was dealing with major back pain as a result of some major seizures I had last year. A friend recommended that I go see Sophia and I couldn't be happier I did. She was able to identify the issues in other parts of my back that were causing the tension and pain in other areas that I didn't even realize were the problem. Now I see Sophia a few times a month and my back has been feeling a lot better. read more

Sophia is absolutely amazing. To say that she only does massage therapy would not really be giving her the credit that she deserves. She is a body healer...she had an amazing way of connecting with me and without having to say much, somehow knew exactly what I needed. I came in feeling worried, stressed, confused and tensed but after an hour (actually I think she gave me extra time because she could tell I needed it), I felt content, happy and at peace. The space she created provided a gateway for me to get more than I expected to receive but exactly what I needed. Sophia thank you so much. You have given me in an hour what I've been looking for in weeks...peace. Now I know to always go within rather than trying to find it outside myself. Also thank you for all those amazing tips. read more

Sophia has a very special touch. A good friend insisted I visit Sacred Splendor because Sophia is "the best." I have been lucky to experience many massages in my life and Sophia is at the top of my list. The first time I visited her for sore muscles and stress, and yesterday I saw her for a pre-natal massage as I'm having another child. She is a pro with any massage but I really appreciated the grace with her pre-natal touch. Sophia is a blast to chat with but also is very aware of when I need to rest and relax in silence. She also uses ultra pure and natural products( olive oil straight off her mother's farm in Greece!!) and I come out softer than a baby and smelling like bliss. Thanks Sophia! read more

I am a dance studio owner and choreographer from NYC. I have been having massages consistently for the last 10 years, and today this massage just made #1! Sophia has deep knowledge of the body, used essential oils, coconut oil, hot stones, heating pads...she is absolutely a master and I am so thankful to find her. She pinpointed specific areas of injury and scar tissue that other masseuses could hardly find. As a professional dancer, I have high expectations and she exceeded all of them. Don't waste your time or money anywhere else. She is a gem. read more

Sophia is the best massage therapist I have ever had! She's the only person I trust that truly knows what she's doing. Sophia was absolutely wonderful - this was my first massage and I could not be happier. I'm very glad I chose Sophia and her business, Sacred Splendor, as she was so welcoming and made me very comfortable. When a friend asked my what type of massage I had gotten afterwards I realized that Sophia did a lot more than most - she used a number of different techniques to help me with things that were specific to my body. She worked on tense areas especially, and I feel much more free afterwards, but she also used hot stones, different oils that she thought would help, did a hand and foot scrub - really more than I could have imagined! I've also been suffering from a bit of head congestion lately and Sophia used aromatherapy that helped tremendously. I'll definitely be coming back to Sacred Splendor to see Sophia in the future - she is extremely caring, her prices are very reasonable, and she tailors the massage specifically to the person. read more

Wow! Sophia is incredible. After leaving my first appointment with her, I actually felt giddy. I am so thankful to have found her. I came to Sophia after suffering from upper back and neck pain and not knowing what to do. Before my appointment she took the time to talk with me about what was hurting and after she took the time to explain what she felt with my body during the massage. It was amazing to have someone actually care about your body. She also recommend various stretches and tools to help prevent the body from tightening up. I pre-booked my second massage with her while I was still at my first, and will continue to go for as long as possible. Highly recommend Sophia. read more

Phenomenal massage. She knew I had an injury before she even gave me massage so she knew exactly what she was doing. Definitely, am going to come back read more

Sacred Splendor is hands down one of the best massage parlors around and Sophia the best masseuse! She was extremely attentive and broke down what to except for a first body scrub and massage. It was not as harsh as I thought it would be which was great! She used a lot of all natural hypoallergenic material and asked about any allergies or injuries before starting the massage. She was very thorough and I highly recommend her! read more

Sophia is the best massage therapist I've ever had, and that's saying something as I've experienced lots of them. Whenever I move I make sure to find a new reliable massage place; when traveling I always try out promising massage services. My job is (sometimes life and death) stressful and massage keeps me sane, and keeps my back and shoulders from seizing into one huge muscle knot. I'm both ecstatic and sad to have found Sophia: ecstatic because her healing touch kept me from going crazy during a crazy stressful period in my life, and sad because I'm moving again and I know I'll never find anyone else who is as good as she is! Sophia is not only technically great at what she does but she also sincerely cares about your wellbeing. She's warm, engaging, kind, and generous. During treatment you'll feel like you're in a warm cocoon you never want to emerge from. When you do leave, you'll feel refreshed and relaxed. PS I have to admit that, at first, the name "Sacred Splendor" put me off a bit and I almost didn't book. If you're also somewhat wary of hippie vibes, please don't pass on this place! I think Sophia is very sensitive to her client's own vibe; she'll never try to push anything upon you that you're not absolutely comfortable with, either philosophy wise or therapeutic-modality wise. read more

Sophia is absolutely wonderful. I found her after I got pregnant and she gives amazing prenatal massages! She's a great listener and really focuses in on whatever "problem areas" you have. Thanks Sophia! read more

There isn't a word for how amazing Sophia is. Not only will she heal you with her work, but she will heal you with her wholesome personality. I am a personal trainer so who works on my body is very important to me. After working with a couple different massage therapists I met Sophia and we totally clicked. She saw every issue my body was having by just looking at the way my body laid on the table. After that first session, I started seeing Sophia almost every week. My body has opened up so much and I rarely get tense anymore. Even after a severe ankle injury I saw Sophia and by the time I left her studio I had no pain! Whether you are seeking massage for pain-relief or pleasure, Sophia at Sacred Splendor is the only therapist to see. read more

Until I met Sophia, massages were very transactional for me. I would find a massage therapist wherever it was convenient and hope for the best. Sophia is an amazing person with a very warm and inviting energy -- it really shows through in the massages she gives. Sophia is very attentive and genuinely cares about her clients' well-being, so you can expect excellent care. I went in for a hot stone massage (the first time I've ever had it). The hot stones were at a very comfortable temperature... VERY comfortable. I could feel my stresses melt away. After the massage, I was very content! It was a dreamy session, and I am definitely coming back again!!! read more
