Well, I'm not sure if this worth my drive., but first time experience and I chose $220 but I wish this would have been a bit longer than I expected. This little hidden gem has a private room which I like the most, calm and comfortable quiet. I treated myself as a bday gift, thanks for the refreshment bday cake, and a beautiful rose. Not sure if I would be back. read more

so nice!! the ladies there are so sweet and kind, and I felt welcome even as a younger person who's very new to getting massages. I got the express 60 minute massage after work because I just needed to get a knot out of my shoulder, and my therapist definitely helped me fix it. after the massage they gave me a cup of tea and a ferrero rocher snack. I'll definitely come back when I want to treat myself :) read more

Incredible experience from the moment we were greeted at the door by the sweetest most gracious hostess. The service itself consisted of a great deep massage, body scrub, shower and soak. I was completely relaxed afterwards for the entire rest of the day. It was my girlfriend's birthday and the hostess served us delicious tea and cheesecake while singing her happy birthday. Overall 10/10 experience! I will be back and highly recommend. read more

This place is absolutely amazing. The staff is so caring and a blessing to everyone they talk to. From the moment you walk in you feel right at home. It's such a warm welcome. From the food to the massage package it's worth every bit of the price. I'll definitely be coming back again!!!!!!!! read more

My wonderful hubby booked the hideko experience for me as my Christmas gift so I got to enjoy everything Hideko has to offer and relax after the crazy holidays. Service - The staff was friendly but firm. She was really sweet to offer valet to park my car for me, but firm in terms of saying what time I need to leave the room by. I wonder if it's a Japanese culture thing, but anyhow, loved the hospitality. Here is the breakdown of the events and my rating. THE HIDEKO EXPERIENCE (180 min. $400) 10 min Foot Ritual (5/5 - very nice) 50 min Facial Treatment (3/5 - I would've skipped this) 50 min Massage Therapy (5/5 - very nice, had a great therapist) 30 min Body Scrub (2/5 - very unpleasant, not luxurious) 20 min Spa Bath in Private Suite (5/5 - very nice, wish it were longer) 10 min Private Shower in Private Suite (3/5 - very rushed, no hair dryer) 10 min Refreshment (5/5 - lovely cheesecake) All in all, I'd average my experience to a 4/5 because while the body massage, refreshment, and spa bath were great, the shower, body scrub, and facial were not so great. I liked that I had a private suite with a nice tub, light thin robe, very intimate space. But for the body scrub, it felt very rushed, borderline painful, and overall unpleasant as I was on a trash bag looking thing--very slippery. I also wouldn't get the facial here again. Another thing that surprised me after the shower was that they had no hair dryer in the entire spa. If we are supposed to shower, we are expected to leave the spa with our hair dripping wet, and that was a huge miss for me. I had a dinner engagement right afterwards so it was really unpleasant and awkward. Those were just some of the low points, but the high points were the detailed hospitality from the beginning and in-between at the events, like the adorable candle and message on the cheesecake! Loved eating the cheesecake dessert in the hot tub--absolutely heavenly. They also gave me a cute keychain souvenir after the entire experience. I wouldn't do the body scrub, facial, or shower here, but I'd come back for the dessert, body massage, and bath tub experience though. Excited to try Tomoko next! read more

This spot was incredible. My girlfriend took us here for Valentines and they made the whole experience very relaxing and even gave my girlfriend a rose and us both a slice of cake with a candle lit in it. We also were given tea to sip. Other than being the perfect date spot, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a soothing spa day (men or women). We did the massage + body exfoliating scrub and we felt brand new after showering it all off. They gave us a full side by side body massage, and you can let them know the focus spots if you'd like. They then follow up with a full exfoliating body scrub and they scrub your whole body. That was about an hour experience, then they gave us 30 mins to shower/get in the bath tub together and get dressed (all private). The massage, bath, and shower are all in the same room, which makes everything very relaxing and no need to move into different areas. The service was A1, very kind and polite workers. You can park in the back, you just need to give them your keys as people may be blocked in. You can also park on the street if you'd like. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Hideko spa. We were immediately greeted by Ari, who was friendly and sweet. She had us fill out a preference form where you could choose where you'd like the massage therapist to focus on or avoid. Then, we were immediately escorted to the massage room. I noticed how clean and calming the room was. I booked the couple 100 minutes massage, which included a foot therapy, full body massage and free shower. I get of massages and this was one of the best so far. The therapist knew where to relieve tension on my body! They were also sweet and constantly checked in on us. At the end, they gave us a cute birthday cake with a happy birthday song playing on the speaker for my partner. Highly recommend!! read more

Hideko Spa - Massage Therapy Near Me - Los Angeles, California

This spa was quite interesting to say the least this place is a lot pricier than your normal places, but it is cheaper than tomoko. It seems like it's Japanese owned and the owner here is very sweet and attentive. I got the massage and body scrub. The massage was just OK. But the thing that really got me was the body scrub. They make you lay down on a trash bag while they scrub your body. It's so uncomfortable your sweat and the oil gets stuck to your body and it is just not a luxury experience. The room has a car button so when you're ready you can pass it or when you need something you can also press it which is nice they have Japanese skin care products for you to wash. It was also nice that they offered tea and cake at the end of the session. Again, I think I'm going to many luxury spas. I was kind of shocked to see that they use trash bags for the body scrub portion of it. The tub but there is super small, not big enough for two people and I am a tiny person so that is saying a lot! There is parking in the back and they ask you to wear slippers inside. read more

Hideko is a cute massage spot that seems great for special occasions, and the overall experience had some nice touches. After the massage, we were able to rinse off in their shower and were even given a slice of cake and a drink, which was a thoughtful addition. That said, I personally didn't enjoy the massage itself. The pressure felt off the entire time, and I didn't find it relaxing especially when they stepped on my back with wooden shoes. For the price, I expected a more comfortable and satisfying experience. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

Very cute but I think for it being $330 it wasn't anything better than a massage half the price. They were super sweet and did a great job overall. However, I did also miss my "refreshments" based off the break down of the massage they messaged me but maybe it was the tea they provided in the bath instead of at the end like the sheet says, got a scrub I wasn't a fan that I was dry when they scrubbed compared to others where I'm wet so it doesn't itch as much on my skin, and it was surprisingly loud during multiple sections of the massage/bath but maybe the walls are just thin or it was busy. read more

AMAZING! Free parking behind leads you into an absolutely lovely Japanese spa setting with gorgeous wood and entirely private spa treatment rooms each. I had 3 bliss-filled hours for the Hideko Experience and cannot recommend this more... foot bath, massage, facial, bath with tea and a birthday cake treat, and a scrub wrap! And each room has a private shower so everything is all in 1 room for the guests. The team is incredible and on my way out I was even given a rose!! The front reception room also has a beautiful and calming waiting area! Cannot say thank you enough to this wonderful team! read more

I had booked the Hideko experience as a birthday treat to myself. The staff were super welcoming and accommodating. I forgot the name of the masseuse who assisted me, but she was so sweet and making sure I was comfortable . The services provided were amazing and relaxing . The only reason I didn't give the experience 5 stars was due to location. I did hear a bit of the noise outside like an occasional leaf blower or outside pedestrians , but I understand that's out the business' control. read more

WHY WE WENT HERE: - since we were staying overnight for Valentine's Day due to a concert, I figured instead of leaving to go home right away, we should take advantage of being in the area and have a couple's massage before we head back - initially wanted to experience a Korean spa but it appeared that we wouldn't be able to be together - we'd be separated by our genders - next best thing was Hideko Spa and since we had never been to a Japanese spa before, thought it'd be a nice experience to try out in the very least THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located on Wilshire Blvd in between Wellesley Ave and Amherst Ave - street parking on Wilshire Blvd as well as small tandem parking (up to 6 spaces available for Hideko) in the rear accessed via Amherst Ave THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - we parked in the rear tandem parking lot and entered from the back entrance - we saw that there was a restroom to the left and a hallway of shoji (Japanese sliding doors) which were the massage rooms; at the end of the hallway was the front entrance/lobby - prior to checking in/starting our services we each used the restroom which was very clean, modern, and simple - inside of the massage room was a shower and bathtub in the rear, a sink and cabinet on the left, and 2 massage tables on the right (with a thin disposable paper sheet like the doctor's office); everything was very modern, clean, chic, simple - on the sink counter was an air purifier (we actually have the same one at home!) which was in dire need of a replacement filter (as indicated by the red light on the top), a clock, remote (I think for the lighting?), a doorbell (to press when you were done undressing from your street clothes and changed into the spa-provided robe), and various toiletries (shower caps, hair ties, cotton swabs, soap, lotion, etc.) - inside the cabinet to to the right of the sink was space to put your street clothes in; the upper cabinet had very plush fabric which we weren't sure were robes or blankets CUSTOMER SERVICE: - I checked out the website once deciding we should have our couples massage here for instructions on how to book - ended up texting the number provided, which provided ALL the information needed to book as well as parking information, etc. - text confirmation reminder was sent prior to the appointment, which was nice - after we parked we were greeted outside and instructed to enter from the rear entrance - prior to entering our massage room, we were asked to take our shoes off (no problem) and leave it at the shoji - like any other massage place, they give you a clipboard for you to fill out prior to your massage taking place - we were instructed to remove our clothes but leave our underwear on, and wear the robes they provided (brand new in plastic packaging) - because we hadn't been to a Japanese spa before, we honestly didn't know what to expect - the beginning of the massage started off with a slight massage of our feet and calves after being briefly soaked in lukewarm water in a tub they carried in; a cube of powder soap (smaller than bouillon; like how some gum are) was used to massage the feet and calves (definitely not a generous amount like the scrubs applied when you get a foot/leg massage at Vietnamese nail salons) - we were asked to lay face down on the massage tables as they began working on us; the entire process was moreso like how I imagine a Thai massage would be like - I was surprised when I realized they started climbing on top of us to put their body weight as pressure on our backs and crawling very slowly so we can feel their weight on us - the pressure was good, but we didn't feel the same level of relaxation as with other spas (in terms of warmth - blankets, heated pads, warm hands, LOTIONED hands) - after the massage we were given 10 minutes to shower, which was the first time we experienced warmth since entering the establishment - we were then led to the front lobby to enjoy tea, cheesecake, and a complimentary rose - after paying at the front lobby, we were guided to return to our car, so we weren't allowed to really check out the products in the lobby - we did ask if we could keep the robes but were told by the owner? that it would be an additional $100+ charge each robe (we found similar, if not the same robes on Amazon for ~$20 each...) - the lady who greeted us, provided us the post-massage goodies, appeared to be the owner was VERY nice; super warm and welcoming read more

My best friend and I were super excited to book two Hideko experiences after seeing a TikTok about this place, but unfortunately, our excitement quickly turned into disappointment. We reached out via the text number listed on their website, and from the start, the person we were texting with was unbelievably rude. When I pointed out that their tone was uncalled for, instead of apologizing, they just said, "weekend scheduling is very busy" - as if that's an excuse for bad customer service. I tried to address it by suggesting they shouldn't offer a text option if they're going to rush potential clients and be so unprofessional, but their response was to tell me I still needed to call and provide a card to lock in the reservation. So why even offer texting if it's not a full-service option? To top it all off, the person then changed the name of our text conversation to a different language, filled with red X's. After translating the text using Google Translate, we were SHOCKED to find out it said, "you fuc**** Bit****." I have attached a screenshot for reference. This is the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. I cannot believe a business would treat potential customers this way. Definitely won't be giving them my money, and I'd strongly advise others to stay away as well. read more

Shady business practices. I booked a same day appointment and then my tire blew out and was stuck at the dealership. I called then and told them I might have to cancel and the front desk had no sympathy and and said no refunds. Fine, I understand policy, totally understand why there wouldn't be a refund. Then I called back and text them for almost 2-3 hours!!!! trying to get them on the phone to send my friend in my place, since it's already paid for. I didn't want to waste money. They refused to pick up and it's only after a few hours they finally texted back saying I could send my friend instead. Mind you, this is during normal business hours. Looking back through the reviews, seems like this is kind of the norm with this spa. Be careful, is all I'm saying read more

Truly the best spa and massage I have ever had. The spa is beautiful, I love the Japanese design and the massage itself was really good. I set an appointment 2 months in advance and it was pre-paid. I paid over $500 for a 2 hour experience that included a body scrub, massage, and a shower. They canceled my appointment the day before claiming that someone else took it even though I already paid for it. They the called me the day of and said that my appointment is confirmed. This was a very confusing experience. When I got there I only got a 2 hour massage when I paid for a shower, body scrub, and a shorter massage. read more

Such a lovely experience! The rooms are very private and they have options for singles and couples massages. I booked a 60 min session, which was just what I needed, but definitely want to try some of the other packages they offer. All of the staff are so sweet, and the massage therapist did a great job! After the session, they had some cold tea (it was a hot day!) and chocolate to enjoy in the lobby to cool down. The place is small but they give everything a personal touch. It was simple and easy to book an appointment via text, and they provided all of the detail needed for getting there. Great place to relax, and will definitely come back! read more

I made reservations in advance for a couple's spa massage which included foot bath/scrub, 70 minute massage, use of the shower and cake and tea in our own private room. Loved getting reminder and informative texts prior to our appointment so we could be directed where to park (free tandem customer parking in the back). Checking in was very smooth and I thought the machine to disinfect you was really cool to watch. They have a small but cozy seating area where you fill out information and sign waivers. They also direct you to the private restroom before directing you to your room. Remove your shoes before stepping into the private room and they will direct you where to place your items, what to change into, and how to call them (there's a button) and will walk you through each step of your experience as it happens. The massage was so good! I thought it wouldn't be enough pressure since we didn't add on deep tissue but my massage therapist was so strong and worked out so many knots for me! I did wear my mask the entire time and so did the staff. I removed my mask for the next piece which is when they serve you cake/tea and you have the opportunity to shower. Love the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles provided as well as the Japanese skin care like toner and moisturizer. They also have hair ties but I did not see a blow dryer (didn't was my hair so I didn't ask for one). Remember to bring your change of clothes if you want to change into something else and any other toiletries you might need (e.g. deodorant, makeup, SPF) I would highly recommend for a quiet and relaxing couple's activity! read more

Nicely decorated and the customer service is not bad. But both massage therapists were no good. We paid a total of $480 (includes tip) for a couples massage. They start with a foot exfoliation that was just a few mins of light back and forth and ultimately did nothing. Then the useless massage is underneath a thin robe. They give cheesecake, tea, and a rose afterwards, so if you wanna pay a lot for that and a waste-of-time massage, then this is your place. read more

Hideko spa was a little treat for myself and my husband. We did the couple's treatment for $350 + extra $30 addition for a deep tissue massage for my husband. (+tip... bringing it over $450). It came w a relaxing foot massage/scrub for 10 minutes, 70 minute massages, and 10 minute shower time. They also brought in some tea and cake at the end. The staff was also very communicative prior to the appointment w text messages. The atmosphere was very clean and minimalistic. I appreciated the aesthetics. The music was very relaxing to listen to during the entirety of our time. The staff were all very courteous and kind. I enjoyed my massage and felt very relaxed afterwards. My husband got the deep tissue massage and we paid extra for it, but he said his massage was very light throughout. (He also said he could tell she was trying very hard so he can't fault her for her effort, but he is used to much harder massages.) As for the bath portion, I was a bit confused on whether we could use the bathtub or not. They didn't move the wooden tray above the bathtub and it wasn't filled w hot water for us. (And w only 10 minutes to bathe after the massage, I didn't think it'd be enough time for us to actually fill the bathtub, soak, and then shower afterwards...) idk what the process was. Haha it was something that I had been looking forward to when reading the website but feel like I missed the opportunity since I knew there was a time limit to get out of the room. Oh well! Next time! :) Parking: there is free parking behind the building in designated spots for the spa, which is always nice especially on the west side. read more

I texted a number to book an appointment. Response was super fast. I was able to schedule an appt very easily and had to call in to provide payment info for a deposit. I received some texts with what to expect, etc. I scheduled an express massage 60 min - $160 I also scheduled a body scrub - 20 min - $40 There's a small parking lot in the back, but I didn't try to use it. I found metered parking easily out front. I was greeted by very friendly people who escorted me to a private room to fill out paperwork. Once I completed the paperwork, I was asked to change into disposable panties and a cotton kimono / robe. I think my masseuse's name was Kathy, but not 100% sure. I asked for a regular pressure massage and I think the pressure was better than I anticipated. Scared to find out what deep would have felt like. It was painful in a good way. She focused a lot on fascia. She also did some more stretchy type of massages as well, which reminded me more of a Thai massage. I was so relaxed I actually fell asleep part way through the massage when she was massaging my legs. The scrub was very straight forward and a little messy so plastic was put down on the massage bed. Once she was done, I carefully got into the shower in the room to clean up and change before heading out. The only downside is I find the cost on the expensive side. It's very clean and customer service is great, but I think the cost is high for what I received. I wish there were more amenities...there is no access to sauna, relaxation room, etc. like some other spas I've been to of a similar price point. read more

I was a bit nervous coming here yesterday after reading some of the more recent reviews but thankfully I had a very nice experience! I booked the Hideko Experience ($400, 180 minutes long). Booking was easy; I called and made an appt a week ago. The spa doesn't look like much from outside but inside is warm and inviting. Upon arrival I was given a robe and disposal thong to wear. Here's a breakdown of the treatment: -10 min foot bath: basically wash and exfoliation of feet in a basin. Was ok. - 50 minute massage: I asked for a light/medium pressure massage. This was just right for me as it was relaxing but also got my knots out. Didn't dig too deep. Found it relaxing - 60 minute facial: this is really a facial massage. I enjoyed it as I wasn't expecting like a medical type facial. It was relaxing and ended with a mask treatment. - 20 minute private bath: this was the highlight for me! Mainly because as you sit in the hot bath, you get to eat a piece of delicious creamy cheesecake from next door Amandine Bakery and have some tea and ice water. I don't know if every treatment is this way. I thought I would have the bath last. -30 minute body exfoliation body scrub: not the same as Korean body scrub but this was fine for me. You lie down on a piece of aluminum foil (like the type they give runners after a marathon) and wrap you in it for ten min after the scrub. -10 min shower; after the scrub took a shower to wash and rinse off and that was all. Overall my experience was nice. Not super luxe but pretty relaxing overall and my therapist paid attention to how much pressure I wanted in my treatments. The owner was also nice and I didn't have any issues. I left a cash tip for my therapist which hopefully went direct to her. Don't know if I would go back as I've been to many spas and looking to try different ones but this wasn't bad at all given my general expectations and standards for a long treatment. read more

I took my bf here for his birthday. This spa was a fun experience except the bath and shower component of my Romantic couple package was not good. They also have a la carte per minute for bath and shower. This is not worth it! The bathtub was too small, regular size for one person and the shower had low water pressure. I had to take a bath and my bf had to take the shower because we couldn't both fit in either. We had an oily body scrub beforehand and could barely rinse off and left greasy. On top of this they only gave enough shampoo and body wash for 1 person. I was expecting it to be romantic like we can take a bath together but I felt inconvenienced and rushed instead. They should not charge for this component. read more

Overall the reason for going was for a massage & I'd definitely say they met that goal & helped with my pain. The masseuse listened clearly to what I hoped for during the session, checked in with me for pressure adjustments & room temperature & the staff was very kind. I think they lacked in the tea & snack department as well as with the shower. They allotted time for me to shower & eat/drink which is fine but I kind of felt time constrained. Secondly, the tea was cold & tasted like coffee had lived in that cup/kettle. Not good at all. I was also REALLY looking forward to the cheesecake & disappointed when I saw the cupcake. Another note, I didn't smell the spa scent I was accustomed to with the products they offered or inside the establishment. So if you're like me & enjoy that refreshing spa smell then just manage your expectations. BUT again, if just for a massage - I'd recommend. read more
