I have been here before and the issues remain the same. Venice Soleil texted me a special pricing, but I did not keep the text while receiving several times. When I arrived as a walk-in today, the receptionist who is very nice said they would offer a discount. They offer nail services on the ground floor and massage services upstairs. The address is 3014 Pacific Avenue on the corner just next to the florist. The interior is clean and they have a great billing system for swift service. My main problem is that few of these people who offer nail services cannot communicate in English. Secondly I had a male operator who spoke almost no English. I asked for a standard manicure/pedicure and he kept pointing to the menu and I acknowledged as such, yet the pricing was $70 which was ridiculous. Again, the language barrier is evident as I begged him to cut "short" which fell upon deaf ears. This is the third time this has occurred and it's bothersome. He did a decent job with the nails, but when someone can't communicate, it is poor service. I was charged $70 and the receptionist reduced it to $60, which I thought was still way too high to cut nails and file. I do not blame the manicurist, I blame to owner or manager who operates and manages this team of about 6 on a Monday morning. I left a $5 Tip on a service that was just gouging. There marketing worked as I did visit based on reaching out. But the pricing is confusing and when the manicurist cannot communicate, it is all the more problematic to recommend. I had a very disappointing experience here--not because of the massage itself, but because of how my personal belongings and concerns were handled. I arrived with a scrunchie in my hair (my favorite scrunchie!) During the massage, the therapist removed it and then misplaced it. When I asked for it afterward, she appeared annoyed and rushed me out of the room rather than helping look for something she had removed. At the front desk, I asked if someone could help locate it. Instead of taking the situation seriously or showing basic empathy, the staff member dismissed me and made a joke about it. I later called back and was told they would look for it--but no one followed up. When I called again, I was laughed at and dismissed once more. I understand that to some people it's "just a scrunchie," but that completely misses the point. When a business mishandles a client's belongings, the bare minimum expectation is accountability and respect. What I experienced instead was repeated dismissal and lack of compassion. Came to spa soleil massage for my birthday and it was one of the best experiences. I booked an appointment a few days before and had no issue getting the time slot I was hoping for. I was greeted by the staff where I was sat in a cozy room to let my feet soak and was given fruit and champagne. After resting for a time with a neck heater, I was taken to the room for my massage. I had the deep tissue massage with the hot stones which was delightful. My massager was amazing and made sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. I also really enjoyed the decor of my massage room which was covered in rose petals and smelled amazing. I really enjoyed my experience here and definitely plan to come back. They asked us which areas we wanted to focus on and were very mindful of an injury that my partner had. We were then led to the massage room which had roses and rose petals strewn all over, so cute! You have the choice of getting as undressed as you're comfortable with, which I appreciated. Both ladies were very attentive to us and adjusted intensity as needed. We both got hot oil and stone massages with a bit of stretching - it was incredible. Time flew by and every minute was pure bliss. We left that room feeling agile and ready to take on the world! The only thing that was a little weird was during the foot massage, one of the masseuse (not Tony/Amy) was telling us to stop using our phones to take pictures/videos of our champagne and fruits and was just telling us what to do during our experience. He was massaging my legs and he kept telling me not to look at him and I tried, BUT it was impossible because he was putting so much pressure that it hurt. However, the same masseuse from the foot massage came back and told us they're closing and to bring our coconuts home. We were the last appointment for the day but it kinda just seemed like the other masseuse just wanted to go home early and it kinda ruined the whole experience. I've been here twice for a 60 min Swedish ($100) and each time they have been consistent with their service: Upon arrival you're immediately escorted to a small private waiting room for a foot soak and a welcome tray of fruit, water and your choice if you'd like a glass of wine. After about 5-10 mins, your masseuse arrives to dry off your feet and a quick consultation for any areas of focus. The massage is customized to your needs so the two times I visited they weren't the same however both times I left feeling amazing. At the end of your massage a fresh coconut with a cute little umbrella awaits you as well as an energy bar. Gotta say for all the extras included, $100 for a 60 minute massage is not too shabby. Note: I tried to email this to management by using both email addresses they have available, and both bounced back. I tried to call, and nobody answered. I received a massage today and I am very unimpressed with the experience. I won't name her name because I expect management to respond to this, and I don't want to sully her name if they're able to make it right. First off, I was "greeted" by a man on his cell phone, who didn't speak a word to me - just pointed for me to follow him and then closed me in the waiting room without saying anything. He came back with the water, tea, and fruit but again, didn't speak to me and just kept talking on his phone. I was given approximately 11 seconds to drink my tea and eat my fruit before the masseuse came in and gave me the bucket of water to soak my feet. No more than 10 seconds later she came back to take my feet out of the tub and asked "What's your problem?" After asking her to clarify, apparently she meant problem area - which I told her was my back. I paid for a Swedish massage. Immediately she started the massage and I was in so much pain. I asked her to alleviate the pressure and she said "Just breathe. No pain no gain." It was the strangest and most painful massage I've ever received. Is it customary to rub someone's eyebrows during a massage?? And pinch their Achilles heel? She slapped oil on me like I was brisket ready to go on the grill, and tossed the sheet around, exposing me way more than I felt comfortable with. Simply odd and uncomfortable. At the end of what felt like eternity, she asked me if I felt better. I responded with a question, "was that the Swedish massage?" And she said "oh no, you had knots and pain so I did reflexology." She was businesslike, didn't listen to me when I was clearly crying and in pain (literally I had tears falling onto the ground - I've never cried in all the years I've been getting massages), and carried out some truly bizarre movements not customary to a Swedish massage - which is the service I paid for. I didn't want to write a review until I spoke to someone; I feel it's only fair for management to make this right. Since I tried that by emailing two email addresses and calling to no avail, I wanted to write this review to warn others. I'm back home, my back still hurts, and I'm traumatized by the awkward and painful experience. Edit: management never made any effort to reach out, so I will warn you Yelpers to steer clear of Lucy unless you want bruises (which I ended up with a couple days post "massage.").
