My body was aching from all the driving I've been doing lately, so I trekked to Bao Foot Spa for a much needed whole body massage. My masseuse's name was Jackson and he was phenomenal! Highly recommend this establishment. Plenty of parking in a private lot out back. read more

Update to owner's response: Your explanation doesn't fix the issue, it just confirms your booking system is disorganized. And judging by previous reviews, even customers who called ahead still didn't get the therapist they requested. At that point, the problem isn't "communication," it's management. Does it really cost that much to fix a broken booking system? Also, if Trung (who appeared old enough to be retired) is being assigned physically demanding reflexology sessions because it's cheaper or more convenient for the business, that's not a great look either. If this is an ongoing issue, it honestly makes booking here feel unreliable no matter how good your therapists are. ------------------------- Previous review: Why have an online booking system that lets clients choose a provider if the assigned therapist isn't actually guaranteed? I specifically booked a one-hour foot reflexology session with Jackson, but was assigned to Trung instead upon arrival. Trung was kind, but he appeared much older and didn't have the strength I was expecting for a reflexology session, so the experience wasn't what I booked for. I still tipped because I felt bad that he was working at his age. When I brought up the provider mismatch to the receptionist afterward, I was told that even if a specific name is assigned during online booking, the actual therapist is not guaranteed. That policy should really be made clear upfront before customers book. read more

I've been coming here for over 8 years, and the therapists are consistently excellent. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was frustrating due to scheduling issues and how they were handled. Work ran over, and I arrived 18 minutes late to my 6pm appointment. I fully take responsibility for being late. Initially, the front desk told me my session would be canceled and I'd be charged a no-show fee through ClassPass, but they later agreed to let me use the remaining time. When I got to the room, there was a bucket prepared for foot washing. I questioned it since I always book full-body massages, and they told me I had booked a body + reflexology session. Given the limited time left, I asked if we could skip that portion. Another 10 minutes was spent going back and forth with management, only to be told no--leaving me with less than 30 minutes remaining. At that point, the experience already felt stressful and rushed, so I chose to skip the massage altogether and keep my ClassPass appointment. After getting home, I double-checked my booking and confirmed that I had actually scheduled a 60-minute full-body massage, not a reflexology combo. If this was a combo, the service name was very misleading. read more

I don't think I'll ever be coming back. The massage was painful and felt rushed. The reviews made me feel like it would be worth the $70 but I quickly learned that it wasn't. I still tipped $15 but it wasn't deserved. read more

Amazing foot massage! 10/10 and will be coming back for sure!! Good ambiance, music, nice people, and I loved the massage itself I'm 40 weeks pregnant and needed a foot massage/ prenatal massage and so far this is the best one I experienced read more

I like the foot soak and massage combination. You don't get a private room but it doesn't bother me. The running water and music is all I need. I stayed fully dressed just rolled my pants up to let my feet soak. The price is perfect for my budget. I was given a very good massage. read more

It's the best foot and all over body massage. Deep deep tissue massage. You leave feeling great Anna

Second time coming here and I can't wait to come back. Staff is professional and nice. Reflexology is my preferred service.

Awesome. Ask for Jackson, he knows what to do. My feet feel brand new and I feel great. Recommended.

Best nail salon in Santa Monica, hands DOWN. Okay... I'm picky. Like, painfully picky when it comes to my nails shape, cuticles, symmetry, all of it. And let me tell you... Zumani Nails NEVER misses. I've lived in Santa Monica for years and I refuse to go anywhere else now. Every time I walk in, they treat me like family. The attention to detail is just next level they take their time, they're gentle, and they make sure everything looks flawless before you leave. This time I asked for a soft pink with a gold tip for the holidays and WOW. It's classy, clean, feminine... literally obsessed. I've gotten so many compliments already. If you're looking for your forever nail tech or you're just super particular like me, go to Zumani. You'll walk out feeling like a million bucks. -- Chelsko read more

tranquil setting with very experienced therapists. super relaxing. I love this place!!!

I had a great massage with Mimi who really took her time and extended the message for me on the spot!

I had an excellent experience. Very reasonable price and one of the very best massages and reflexology sessions I've ever had. I will be going back. read more

Jaskson was amazing in my hour and a half foot and body session. I crawled in there and floated out. Front desk rocked! Love this place.

For the price, convenience of getting in and out quickly, and still feeling relaxed, this place can't be beat. Booking was easy, but I never choose my therapist, so the complaints other people have don't apply. I plan to come back soon read more

Very clean and tranquil. All staff are friendly and well trained. Perfect place for weekend relaxation.

Easy to schedule and appointment. Clean and calm space. Mimi was great. Definitely will go back again

Had a brilliant 60 minute reflexology foot massage with Kevin. I was going to do a combo massage, but when I got there and discovered it was a clothes-on massage (which may be great, I've just never tried it), I decided to devote the whole 60 minutes to my feet, and I'm so glad I did. I'm a marathon runner, and my feet were ecstatic about the TLC. I'll definitely go back. read more

The session was relaxing and the therapist was attentive. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable. A longer session would have made the experience even better read more

Good prices and excellent service. My husband and I went there on Valentine's Day, and it was the best foot massage I've ever had! The atmosphere was relaxing, and the therapists were very attentive to our needs. I highly recommend this place for a pampering experience. read more

I went here a few years ago and the massage with a male was excellent. A couple weeks ago I came back and had a massage that "hurt so good." So this weekend I came and brought my partner. He was paired with the last woman and I got the woman in back on the left. She was okay. I started to feel like there's no check in about pressure and I was glad we were only doing 45 minutes. She turned me over on my stomach and at the very end she hit me so hard that I was afraid she had done some real damage. I felt like it was more of an attack than a healing experience. I tipped anyway but I was in a bit of shock. If you are older or have any physical issues you should be wary of this place. I don't know what she thought she was doing but I could never go back after that. No one deserves that! read more

This place is amazing! They focus on exactly what techniques and areas you need them to do! The full body massage is relaxing and will give you the stress relief you are looking for. If you like deep tissue massage, then this place is fantastic!! read more

Such a relaxing and lovely experience. I did a 45 minute foot massage and left feeling wonderful!

Great experience!! Courteous staff and a wonderful massage. I would recommend Bao foot massage in Santa Monica very highly.

I've come with my mom several times. She gets a massage with Mimi and I see Cici. Amazing! Heaven! Peaceful! It is one of the few foot spas where the shared space is absolutely quiet. All you can hear is the indoor waterfall. We always get the 90 min massage/foot reflexology combo. We add on the face mask and the milk and flower foot bath. I didn't think a "clothes on" massage would be good but I was glad to be proven wrong. Highly recommend! read more

fantastic body/foot massage, ask for Vincent, he's a master. Goes deep, works out the kinks, better sleep after seeing him.

BAO is not just about foot massage, you can also enjoy a full body massage. I've had 3 different masseuses and all were great. Everything is very clean, and there's soft music. read more

Just came out of a 60 minute combo massage with Vincent and he was really good. Focused on the areas where I was most tense and I felt much looser after. He also made sure the pressure was right throughout the session, which I appreciated. read more

Tom is incredible! One of the BEST massages of my life. A+¥+ he got out all my knots in neck and shoulders.

I was recommended this place by a patron who frequents them and the yoga studio I go to I told her I was looking for foot reflexology services but all the places I found online had such bad reviews She then told me about bao and after some research into the locations they had I settled on Santa Monica's location booked online which was easy and allowed me to provide gratuity on the same card upon leaving they have a parking lot in the back dedicated to Bao and other stores in the strip mall I booked an hour long service because my feet get really sore (I have flat soles) I'd like for the service to be a little more private and not open as that can be a bit distracting hearing the talking and shuffling of other people as I'm getting my service done, but the therapist that was working on me was professional, and made sure I was comfortable and relaxed this was a great find and I definitely will be back read more

First time and was great! Was super relaxing and can't wait to go back. Would ask for more pressure next time.
