My experience at Surya Spa with Martha was truly life-changing. I came in struggling with ongoing health challenges that I had been dealing with. From the moment I met Martha, I felt deeply cared for. She took the time to listen, understand what was going on, and create a personalized approach that addressed my whole body, not just my symptoms. Through her guidance, treatments, and recommendations, I experienced a level of healing and improvement that I honestly didn't think was possible. The spa itself is absolutely beautiful. Tucked away in a peaceful setting, every detail feels intentional and nurturing. I am incredibly grateful for Martha and the entire team at Surya Spa. If you're looking for a place that combines expertise with genuine care, I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

Four handed massage. I feel like I don't need to say anything else! But I will. No, they don't have a steam room or sauna, but get over it! The actual experience of their services is out of this world, and I did not want or miss a steam room or dry sauna at all. I had the 90 minute radiant transcendence - udvartana + shitodhara. A lot of Sanskrit, but let me tell you...they can call it whatever they want, I call it sheer bliss. To have two therapists massage you in sync...I truly felt like it was an out of body experience. There was warm oil that was drilled down my forehead to the hair line and all through my hair. (Yes you will look like very greasy when leaving but you won't care! Go home and go to bed!) Pretty sure I left my body during the whole thing, I left feeling extremely relaxed and pampered. My skin felt INCREDIBLE for days after the treatment. My hair has also never looked better! I cannot wait to go back...four handed massage, yes please! read more

Everything about the Surya experience is exquisite. The decor, the smells, the care of the staff, the lighting, music, and most of all the extraordinarily skilled and transporting hands-on techniques. Highly recommended. read more

I had no idea this experience would be so incredibly transformative. From the moment I arrived until the very last moment, I felt as though I was transported to a completely blissful time and space. The spa is gorgeous - warm, earthy colors and textures - and it's quieter than quiet. I felt cocooned immediately - what a balm for my nervous system. I booked the 90-minute Surya's Signature Abhyanga Massage - the experience was truly a beautiful ceremony. The treatment rooms are exotic and a balance of masculine and feminine - the private bathroom with shower was very special too. I had never experienced a massage like this and had no idea what to expect. When the two therapists began to stream warm Ayurvedic oils - I got to choose which oils I'd like - over my body, I was completely in my senses - my thoughts vanished. The massage was light and soft - something I've never experienced before and I discovered that this is exactly what my body loves. I've always gotten deep tissue bodywork before - and - this type of massage, along with the special oils and the incredibly gifted therapists - melted away all the tension and stress I'd been carrying. I've honestly never felt more relaxed, cleansed, cherished or cared for before like this at any spa anywhere in the world. This treatment is worth every penny - it was, for me, a life changing experience for sure. The perfect de-stressor and antidote to living in the city. Thank you Surya Spa! read more

Surya Spa - Beautiful Meditation Room - I spent a little time here before and after my treatment. - Massage Therapy Near Me - Santa Monica, California

I recently had a spa treatment at this property. While the massage was ok, I was very surprised to learn afterward that one of the therapists who has reportedly been with the company for many years is not licensed. For an spa that presents itself as a luxury, this is extremely concerning and, in my view, unacceptable. Guests expect that all practitioners are properly trained, certified, and operating within legal requirements. This raises not only questions about quality, but also about safety and compliance. If I had been seeking a service from someone unlicensed, I would have chosen a different type of establishment at a significantly lower price point. For the rate charged, I expected a professional, fully qualified therapist and a standard consistent with luxury. read more

Amazing! Best abhyanga shirodhara massage ever. High-end boutique experience with professional therapists.

I had the most incredible body treatment at Surya Spa. I left the spa very relaxed and ready for the second half of the day. The staff is super nice and treatment out of the world. I truly recommend Surya to everyone, locally and visiting guests. read more

Surya Spa - Massage Therapy Near Me - Santa Monica, California

I've had all sorts of massages and this was hands down the most relaxing. The meditation room and soothing tea starts to set the tone for the experience. The massage room has it's own restroom with shower and small bathroom essentials. The room was perfectly lit and heated. The masseuse was polite, professional, and attentive. The warmed oil poured on my body felt divine. I loved the oils so much that I purchased the rose oil and calming sesame oil. I walked out in a zen and then the life hit me a few hours later while I long to still go back and lose myself at Surya again. read more

By far the best experience ever ! My boyfriend surprise me for my birthday and booked the nourish, restore four hands, body massage treatment. Upon arriving to the spa, we arrived at our appointment time not much greeting as we walked in and the way You would've expect from this type of scale business. Because we booked the night at the proper hotel we received %15 that Katy was gracefully excepted later as I called and mentioned we forgot about as we checked out. I appreciate this a lot ! I sure will go back again. read more

I had such a great time here learning about all the different skin types. Thank you kaiya for the tour I look forward to my next visit.

My friends gifted me a Surya massage for my birthday - both this year and last year. I will be asking for nothing more for future birthdays. I don't need surprises, but I need more experiences at Surya. From the warm reception-welcome, to the peace of the meditation room while I waited, to the skill and attunement of my masseuse, to her communication regarding my preferences and needs - the entire experience was whole and beautiful. And as a result, I felt (and feel!) whole and beautiful. read more

I had a Vishesh massage at Surya Spa with one therapist, and it was one of the most grounding experiences I've had in a long time. The treatment was deeply restorative--firm, intentional, and infused with care. The warm, herbal oils and Ayurvedic techniques made it feel like more than just a massage; it felt like a reset. I left feeling lighter, calmer, and more in tune with my body. Surya is a special place--thoughtful, healing, and unlike any other spa I've visited. read more

Updating my review to 4.5 stars after my 2nd visit, courtesy of Roger, the spa's CEO. Roger personally reached out to me after my initial lackluster visit to hear my honest feedback and make amends, which I very much appreciated. Sadly, such customer service these days is rare. Today I was given a warm welcome and a lovely Ayurvedic oil massage by two ladies who quickly made me feel at ease. The only hiccups I encountered was the front toilet not flushing, running out of tissue in my bathroom, and being told I couldn't use my 15% off code on products in-person, only online. Otherwise, I had a much better experience this time around. read more

This was hands down the best massage experience I've ever had! I will definitely be back!

I have just completed a truly wonderful experience at Surya Spa. I am a local and decided to get an ayurvedic massage, and I am so happy I did. The spa is beautiful. My only disappointment - I was expecting a traditional style spa with locker room, steam and sauna which this spa does not have. What they do have is a lovely reception area, quiet room to wait for your therapist and beautiful treatment rooms. Each room is large with a private bathroom that includes a tub/shower. I chose the 90 minute, deep tissue, single therapist massage. Next time I will book the 4 hand massage. So looking forward to my next visit. read more

Zenzi is a wonderful massage therapist! I had a deep tissue massage with her for an hour and wished I had booked an hour and a half. PLEASE READ THE INFO CAREFULLY because its not a regular spa. My husband booked for Valentines day. He booked the signature massage ( most expensive) and its was not what either of us expected. For me, this is what I HATED: 1) No dressing rooms--you change in the massage room. This is a 3000 sq ft spa with no changing rooms. 2) The waiting area ( meditation room?) was tiny. When I arrived it was full of people in their street clothes. I sat elsewhere bc it was not relaxing at all. 3) The actual massage was not good. I was asked what kind of oil i wanted and I made it clear that smell was the most important part to me--they said neither oil had a smell. NOT TRUE-- the sesame oil made me smell like peanut butter. 4) The oil was scalding hot and was poured all over me to the point that it was dripping in private parts and super ticklish. Again, not relaxing. 5) The entire massage felt like a 5 year old massaging me---super soft and not therapeutic at all. It was annoying beyond words. I spoke up and was told that they could not do anything harder--this was the massage I requested. Ok, I asked again and was told they would charge me more $ to get a harder massage. I said OK. 6) Once the more intense message started, it was ridiculously hard--she went from feathers to knives. HATED IT. This was LITERALLY THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD --i am 50 years old and i was expecting the " spa circuit" with steam room, relaxation areas and a good massage. Again, PLEASE READ WHATEVER descriptions you can find before booking this place. read more

Alex is a very talented healing therapist. I really recommend her. I've already booked my next appointment. read more

I received a lovely massage here and the gingered peach bread with their ghee was delicious. I bought one loaf to take back with me to NYC! The spa is located outside on the other side of the hotel, not inside the hotel. It was confusing finding the front door when it didn't look like it was part of the hotel. read more

Amazing experience! Staff is awesome! Everyone is friendly and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Had a massage with coffee and sugar scrub, it took years off my skin. I highly recommend you won't be disappointed! read more

Beautiful space and even more amazing massage. I forgot the masseuses name, but it was heavenly. Best massage ever! I am also super grateful at how accommodating they were regarding masks and my nervousness around covid. I am a rare holdout who is still masking and trying to avoid getting covid and they were very kind and the masseuse masked, which I greatly appreciated. Hope to come back soon :) Also, the tea & bread were to die for. Thank you for such a lovely experience. read more

everything here is sublime. wonderful spa and team. such healing vibes. book your time there, youll Love it. thank you.

I have worked with Martha on my health for about a decade and she always has the cure! Today, I came in for a consult with a raging stomachache and left without a stomachache because Martha knew exactly what to give me to calm my gut down. She knows how to get to the root of the problem and how to fix it. She also knows how to tailor your Ayurvedic specific needs to your lifestyle which I appreciate deeply. Thank you, Martha, for always taking care of me. read more

Physically abused!!!!!! The WORST ever!!! RUN DO NOT COME HERE!! I've never had to leave a massage 10min in because someone is physically shaking me and yelling at me to relax at the same time! This is the WORST SPA experience I have ever had!!!! They don't even have anything but treatment rooms. read more

I've been a big believer in Ayurveda for years, but it's been quite a while since I've had a treatment. My sister in law treated me to a weekend Pancha Karma for my birthday and it is one of the best presents I've ever received. The consult with Martha was very informative -- she really helped me refine my diet and routines to support better health and deal with my present issues (excess Pitta/heat, poor sleep). The consult prepped me for the 5 day cleanse pre treatment and I actually found the cleanse easy and comfortable. And....I lost 6 lbs! That was a bonus. All of the therapists were kind, present, attentive and skilled. The massages were very luxurious and deeply nourishing (I've had many massages as former LMT myself). The space is beautiful and well thought out. The meals were fantastic, honestly I would love to eat there every week. I think Surya is wonderful whether you seek a spa experience to relax or more therapeutic treatment to address specific health concerns. It's to soon to report on long term results but I definitely feel super calm, grounded, happier, peaceful and cooler after my treatments. Thank you, Martha and Surya! Highly recommend. read more

I have been seeing Martha for about eight years now. She has been instrumental in my quest for health and well-being. The feeling you have after Panchakarma is unmatched. Martha helped diagnose my breast cancer (last year) and went through the recovery with me, assisting with my chemotherapy and radiation by supplying items that made me stronger and helped me heal faster. She also has wonderful recommendations for other like minded people who helped in my journey and have now become a staple in my life. Video visits make it so much easier as well! The staff at Surya is responsive and lovely, always making you feel important. I highly recommend Surya and Martha if you need that extra support and are open and willing to take charge of your life and health!!! read more
