I cannot express enough gratitude for the care and compassion we received at VEG Maple Grove. From the moment I reached out, I was met with immediate responsiveness, kindness, and zero judgment. My cat, Pico, was clearly in pain, and after explaining our situation, they brought him in right away and treated it with the seriousness and empathy it deserved. From the moment we arrived, Pico was met with calm professionalism, warmth, and genuine humanity. Every single person we encountered treated us with respect, dignity, and care during an incredibly stressful moment. There was no rushing, no pressure, no shaming -- just people doing their jobs with heart. The veterinary team took the time to truly listen, thoroughly assess Pico, and explain everything clearly and calmly. He was treated promptly and thoughtfully, and we left with a clear plan for care -- including medication and supportive resources that showed genuine concern for his comfort and recovery. What truly set this experience apart was how the staff treated Pico -- not just as a patient, but as family. They spoke to him kindly, praised him, comforted him, and offered gentle affection that he clearly welcomed. At one point he was actively snuggling into their arms, calm and trusting, and they met him right where he was with warmth and encouragement. Seeing him so at ease in an emergency setting said everything. As someone caring for an emotional support animal, the respect and understanding shown to both my pet and our circumstances meant more than I can put into words. Emergency veterinary care can often feel clinical or transactional. This experience was the opposite. VEG Maple Grove exemplifies what compassionate, patient-centered emergency care should look like. We had a sudden emergency this past weekend with our cat and rushed him to this location, as suggested by our veterinarian. The team quickly assembled as soon as we walked in the doors, immediately providing top care to him. Everyone was so compassionate and ready to help us and though we ended up having to let him go, our family was very impressed with the doctor and the team who worked on our baby. I will recommend this office to everyone. Top-notch care and turned out the cost was less than we thought it would be. read more

Dog was brought into. VEG on a Sunday eveningrelated to vomiting, lethargy as this 9 mos lab had chew up a slipper and afraid of blockage. Xray taken and stated no blockage. Given a bolus of fluids and send home. The following morning was brought to another vet who stated there was a blockage and labs were poor. She needed to get her to emergency surgery at this point. The surgery center said it may Work, or may not body was failing. Will not recommend Veg as possibly it could have been found sooner. read more

Our cat Raven couldn't move her back legs and we called them right away. They got us right in and got the vitals and we had to make a very hard decision. Their staff was kind and really caring during our rough time. Huge thank you to the vet and the staff there during out tough time. read more

Brought my dog in late on a Saturday night as he got into the garbage, I have been to the emergency vet before but not here and I can say we were truly taken care of!! They were very informative about what they needed to do and explained what options we had. Was seen right away and happy to say my pup is doing much better! read more

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Love that you can be with your pet throughout the entire visit - much less stressful for both of us (and our dog). After a brief phone call we were told 'we're sending you a link so you can pre-register, we'll see you when you get here". A vet tech brought us in immediately and we saw the Dr. shortly after the triage. They triage, treat, run labs, and house all the animals in one large space. No back room. No receptionist. Just vets and vet techs everywhere who are willing to help. They even offer couches, snacks, and drinks for pet parents during the visit. They were very compassionate and supportive. We were in and out in 90 min with a plan and meds (and special dog food). The staff could not have been more pleasant. I hope to never need emergency vet services again, but if we do, I'll be a repeat customer. read more

Took our dog in for swallowing stuff she shouldn't have. Whole staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Dr Balling and Tracy are amazing. Hope to never be back, but if we need a 24 hour vet we'll be going here. read more

One star. I brought my dog in after he began vomiting from eating chocolate. Check-in was pleasant, and the staff I initially interacted with were kind. However, after waiting nearly three hours, the experience went downhill. When we were finally seen, my dog--who had been calm and well-behaved the entire time--was treated as if he were a serious threat. He showed no signs of aggression at any point, yet I was repeatedly cautioned with comments like "do you have a tight grip on his collar?" and "don't bring him near your face." These remarks felt unnecessary and uncomfortable given his behavior. My dog is a pit bull, but he has never been aggressive and gave no indication that he would harm anyone. It was disappointing to feel that he was being judged based on his breed rather than his actions. Every animal deserves respectful, compassionate care, especially in a medical setting. Unfortunately, that was not the experience we had. I will be seeking care elsewhere in the future and am very disappointed with how my dog was treated. read more

This place is for the $$$ let the cash register ring. It's a minimum of $2,800 per 24 hours. Then the next 24 hours$3,300. Don't be shocked one bit when you pick your pet up and they surprise you with another $1,050 on top of what you already paid.. The kennel was filfy and dogs behind full of feces. This place seemed great from the reviews.... My dog Frankie suffered sudden bloat, taking him to this facility where I was pretty much immediately dismissed, saying he must've over eaten a bunch of food...like I had said many times, he would never do that, he barely eats his own food! Although Frankie had been trying to throw up for hours and nothing was coming up, they still drugged him to induce vomiting, leaving him more miserable than when he came in. I had to physically hold him up because he was so out of it. Frankie and I were left in a room for long periods of time, while he nauseously dry heaved nothing, they gave him a dose of something to help the nausea. My dog was simply out of it and his stomach continued to grow, eventually, I stuck my head out of the door and asked for help, the vet tech realized his stomach swelled even more. She prepped him to have a procedure to pump his stomach. The surgeon took his time getting over to Frankie, I could tell the techs were anxious as well. The procedure went well, until it was time for Frankie to wake up.... Almost two hours later, they called me over saying his body was shutting down. I had to choose to let him go peacefully. It should not have taken from 9pm until 12:30am to have finally begun the procedure....I should have taken him elsewhere that would've taken immediate action. Instead, I drove home at 4am without my dog. My best friend of ten years died that night at the hands of this place and their negligence. read more

If I could give this place a negative I would I went there with my dog that literally cannot stand up on his own, had no strength. They looked at him and then put him in a room with me and my significant other and tell we could figure out how we could get funds to pay for The visit my dog literally could've died and I don't think they would've cared because I didn't have enough money cause like normal people I live paycheck to paycheck. even though my dog was in pain. And very lethargic and wasn't able to move or stand on his own they had the audacity to tell me that they are not able to care for him because I didn't have good enough credit Or money at the time to pay the 1800 dollar bill.and reloaded him back in my unit and gave me an address to a different vet place and said that That this place helps people like you. read more

My cat was having breathing issues, we were transferred to VEG from Brooklyn Park Animal Hospital. When we made the very difficult decision for euthanasia, the head nurse said she had to put a catheter in her. She held her down and had a trainee nurse do the procedure who obviously was not skilled and kept causing my cat pain in her missed attempts. This head nurse also shut off the oxygen to the oxygen room my cat was in while she was out doing this procedure. This ensured that there would be low oxygen when my cat was brought back, since it takes about 20 minutes to get back up to 50%. She CLEARLY had no care about extra suffering she is causing animals. The absolute worst, however, was when we were in the room doing the euthanasia, IT DIDN'T WORK. Because MacKenzie had screwed up the catheter insertion or the wrapping and the head nurse didn't check it. So my cat's suffering was drawn out while this medication administration didn't work. I think this place should be shut down. And the head nurse (blond, very overweight), should not be allowed anywhere near animals or training others to work on animals. read more

My local vet recommended due to after hours. Our puppy ate something she shouldn't have. We called before we left to let them know we were coming and they were wonderful. Very understanding. They sent a pre registration text so when you get there they have the basic information to get to action. We were listened to, understood, and cared for. Both our puppy and the owners. Puppy was cared for and perfectly fine. I hope I never have to go back but it's a relief to know where to go in an emergency. read more

Worst experience and place to take your animal. Brought in my 14-year-old Springer spaniel to Mission Hospital with a large painful mass in his ear. Was told to get there early to have surgery. Arrived at 7:00 in the morning stood in line in the cold I was the second person in line. They took every animal before mine, then proceeded to make me wait 6 hours to be seen. Long story short I believe they were just trying to make me mad enough to just leave they didn't want to deal with my 14-year-old dog. They refuse to do any surgery without having biopsies and a bunch of tests done that would have cost me well over $6,000. I was quoted $3,700 to remove a mask from his ear. And they charged me $330 to clean his ear they squirted some cleaning fluid and wiped it out with a q-tip. This place is a joke their advice to me was have him euthanized. It was the worst experience I've ever dealt with in my life and they were absolutely rude and would rather me put him to sleep The rating is not a one star, it is a negative #. read more

If you willing to waste your time this is the place to take your dog. This place is latterly chaotic. They make me wait a lot and when they finally decide to check my dog they did not focus on him. they was checking other dogs and doing other things while I was waiting. I end paying 280+ Dollars for pain pills. Also they write on the paperworks procedures that they never did. When I call them, they said sorry it was a mistake. Staff was awesome and caring and this is no fault of theirs, but pricing was fucking exploitation. I was quoted 8-11 thousand dollars for a surgery all standard vets in the area would do for about 2 thousand, and they wouldn't have been able to do it until morning when vets were open anyways. We had to transport him with the iv and catheter hook ups still in to another vet at 8am to avoid going into insane debt. read more

Was given a quote for X-rays, not the visit or medication amount. Please be more transparent when it comes to communicating cost. Vet told me my dog wasn't showing signs of dehydration, but still gave him a bag of saline. I guess I should not of assumed that would have been part of the care experience. $550 for X-rays, 200+ for visit and over $400 for some meds. The staff were amazing and super kind. Cost just threw me for a loop. Only a 3, because of cost and lack of transparency. read more
