Bonus ad showing "Every 4th Subscription order will automatically get 50% off"
    Orval G.

My first thought about Veestro is that it's a good service during a time when we are not comfortable leaving the house to enjoy a meal prepared by someone else. Their meals are plant based and partially organic. The cost is $330 for 30 meals, that's $11 each for the one serving. But they say you can get some discounts, like $10 off your next order for every $200 you spend, 10% off for subscription and every 4th order is 50% off(picture included). The BBQ Chick N' Pizza was flavorful, nice texture and enough to share with my spouse. The Southwest BBQ Chick 'N, Savory Croquettes and Country Fried Chick'N were also good. By now I've realized that they don't serve enough vegetables considering these are mostly for Vegans, Vegetarians and Plant Based people. I could add some, but if I wanted to go out to shop for vegetables, I wouldn't be buying frozen meals over the internet. The Spanish Torte, Turkish Meatballs and Breakfast Burrito were dissapointing. My favorite is the Lentil Meatloaf with gravy and California blend vegetables. Many of their meals get more than 1/3 of their calories from fat. If you are on a low-fat diet, read the nutritional values. After starting a subscription with Veestro, there was some confusion about their bonus, which still shows on my account page. I emailed Veestro asking about their offer saying "Every 4th Subscription order will automatically get 50% off"(picture included). They replied, "Our 50% off your 5th order promotion began in March. The discount will automatically be applied on your 5th order. You have one order so far." When I again questioned the fact that their offer was "Every 4th Subscription order will automatically get 50% off" they replied, "You have one order in March. The system doesnt count the 1st order they place. But on the 4th one after that they will get the discount." Because of their special offer and their responses to why they won't honor it, I am not satisfied with how this company works. The prices are just too high for what you get. It's a one serving frozen meal with no way to alter it and hit-or-miss flavor. We have still been hungry after eating some of these meals, satiated after others. Seven out of the 30 weren't sealed on arrival but they were frozen solid so there was no leakage. I have only ordered from Veestro once. Probably won't order again.

Frozen meals-dry ice kept them completely frozen.

Really loved my first order. The cost kept me from continuing my subscription, but if I can order again for the promotional price I absolutely would. A TON of food. It's set up to cover three meals a day. I just needed them for meals to eat at work because lunches are short, they cook up in 5 min in the microwave and that was perfect. Way healthier than a lean cuisine frozen lunch and without all the hard to pronounce ingredients.

Sigh. I wish I could give 0 stars. So I placed my order on Wednesday, 7/8/2020 and my scheduled delivery was for Friday, 7/10. However, it wasn't delivered until Tuesday,7/14. So my food was sitting on a hot Fedex truck for 6 days and they still delivered it even though I cancelled it. I contacted customer service and they apologized and refunded my money but insisted that I allow them to deliver my order 'on them'. I'm assuming they meant a fresh order and not the old one but that's what arrived today. Smh. It's a shame that the delivery service interfered with their business and ruined the delivery service experience.

I received rotten food!! The delivery was done 3 days later of the original delivery date and the food was rotten and smelled disgusting! When you are delivering food to people you must make sure you use reliable carrier!! Asked for my money back!!! Will never order again!

I bought 30 meals on my first order. Took a 1.5-2 weeks to arrive. The meals are horrible. Half way through the meals and can't stand them. I canceled my subscription. Honestly don't know how anyone can eat these. My wife, father and I tried them. Most aren't even edible. Don't know how this company stays in business. The pizza was broken in 12 pieces and is one of the least disgusting of the food. Really wish I enjoyed them.

I'm not a hardcore vegan by any means, but sometimes I want to have some veggie/whole grain meals, without scarfing down a ton of meat. So as someone who does not exclusively eat vegan, I can say that for anyone who wants to try to get on the bandwagon or looking for a delivery service that makes food that basically appeals to someone with traditionally non-vegan tastes, Veestro is a pretty good bet. I've ordered large shipments about three times ($199 plus + free shipping), and consistency has remained the same for the most part. The juices are all enjoyable. Soups are filling because of the ingredients, but a small portion. You would need to supplement it yourself with a slice of bread or a sandwich. One complaint is that there definitely is not enough veggies per dish. I found myself having to add a ton more veggies in order to round out the meal properly. What chunks of veggies that were there were small. Luckily I've never had to email or call customer service as my deliveries have always been on time as estimated, and the packaging was secure. I always received the correct amount of items. I look forward to ordering this service more in the future when I have more freezer space. Its a great option to have after a long day and you don't want to cook or you want a snack without feeling disgusting and bloated after. Some favorite dishes: -Chick'n nuggets- very crispy outside, and chewy inside that mimics chicken perfectly. Would be nice if it came with something, like potato or yam fries. -Country fried Chick'n - so delicious with the flavorful gravy. Small chunks of carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. Definitely needs a bigger helping -Red Curry with Tofu - sometimes the sauce thickens well, and sometimes it's too runny. But it's more coconut based than anything spicy -Veggie empanadas - very hearty but with mostly peas, but the chimichurri sauce is herby and tangy. -soba noodles in peanut sauce - peanut sauce is a little spicy, and this could use a splash of freshness, like some broccoli chunks -Pizza : pizza napoletana and veggie pesto pizza - was good, thin crust, crunchy, flavorful Some least favorites: -Croquettes - too mushy on the inside, and didn't like no matter how crunchy the outside became -Lentil meatloaf - was dry -chick'n quesadilla, tuscan calzone - both had overpowering cheese flavor Can't wait to order again!

vacuum sealed (3) cookies. ingredients... far from healthy. The peanut butter used has added sugar and hydrogenated oils.

Do the meals need to be microwaved to be eaten... or is stove reheating even an option to be healthier while working with the food prep packaging and such...?

Stove reheating or cooking on the oven was the "recommended" method of cooking for all of the meals (or almost all) that I ordered. However, for each meal, there also seemed to be a microwave option.

I was searching for excellent sushi…read moredelivery the night before surgery in Beverly Hills, which is not the moment you want to gamble on mediocre fish. The reviews steered me right -- this place is outstanding. Everything arrived beautifully packaged, almost like opening a curated box rather than typical takeout. The presentation alone was impressive: neatly organized compartments, pristine nigiri, and even a printed guide showing what each piece was. It felt thoughtful and elevated from the moment we opened it. The fish itself was exceptionally fresh. The salmon nigiri was buttery and soft, the tuna clean and vibrant, and the tekka maki perfectly balanced with tender rice and generous fish. Nothing felt rushed or sloppy -- every piece looked like it had just come off a sushi counter rather than out of a delivery bag. Even the small details stood out. The edamame was perfectly cooked, the sauces were neatly portioned, and everything traveled well without getting smashed or soggy. And because honesty matters in Yelp reviews: my Shiba Inu immediately stationed herself next to the tray and strongly endorsed the tekka maki. High praise. If you want high-quality sushi delivery in Beverly Hills that actually arrives looking and tasting like restaurant sushi, this place absolutely delivers. I'll be ordering again and again and again.

I ordered for pick-up at 11:30 and the initial notification from the restaurant stated my food would be ready by 11:45. I knew parking would be bad so I left a little early and at 11:24 I received a message saying my order was ready. If this was almost any other type of cold food, I think it would be fine to let the food sit and wait. But for hot foods or sushi like this, a 20 minute jump in time isn't great for someone expecting their order at least at 11:30 so although I appreciate my food being ready sooner, it's not always a good thing. The other issue is the kitchen or pick-up area. HiDozo Van Nuys is in a ghost kitchen set up with a tiny lobby and no signs or directions on whether you're even in the right space because you don't know which restaurants are here. I had to deal with 5-6 food delivery drivers that didn't know their heads from their asses and just hung out in the lobby. There is one girl working that is very sweet and trying to manage it all but this just isn't an ideal pick-up location. I ordered the Deep Dive box $54 along with an order of chu-toro $8 and unagi $8. There is no question that the food looks stunning and the presentation is exceptional. The bags and boxes are all high quality and better than what you typically find for takeout from Sugarfish. Sadly the actual sushi presented a mixed bag of feelings. I started with the tuna sashimi which was cut perfectly and tasted great, then moved onto some of the nigiri including the hotate, salmon, albacore, and hamachi. The fish is all absolutely delicious, buttery, rich, tender, and flavorful. The issue comes down to the rice. The rice is pretty dry and bland. It's also clear that nobody is hand forming this rice. It looks WAY too perfect and symmetrical, and every piece looks exactly the same. Even the most skilled sushi chef with decades of experience could not get sushi rice this exact every single time. So I did a little digging and videos on their Instagram don't show the rice ever being formed by the chefs. It's always ready and the chef simply takes it from one hand, adds the fish, and forms the fish over the rice, never once actually making the rice himself. Before I moved onto the tuna nigiri I had the unagi and although soft and buttery, it was ice cold and clearly not charred or grilled. For $8 (which mind you, is the same price as the chu-toro) I would've expected quality at the level of the chu-toro. As for the tuna nigiri they were all fantastic. At least, the fish was. The rice was still meh. The tuna, akami, toro, and chutoro were all buttery, soft, and you could definitely tell them apart. But sadly, once again, the rice was not great. Here's the kicker - the rice in the futomaki roll was actually good. I wouldn't doubt that the fresher rice is kept and used for the rolls because the texture and bite was so much better. The minced tuna was a delight and this was one of my favorites here. Overall, with the price of $70 before tax, it would be nice if HiDozo actually focused on the rice considering a chef of this stature wouldn't and shouldn't neglect the key component of sushi. Any person with a spec of food and cultural insight knows that "sushi" means vinegared rice so the toppings are a second to the rice and don't have to be fish or seafood related. But still, this isn't a place I would revisit or recommend.

Between my long commute to work, workout schedule and other daily needs, sometimes it's just super nice and convenient to have a meal ready to eat that's loaded with the essential macros I need. I order about every other week and so far I've been very pleased with the taste, amount of food and the spectacular presentation. What I recommend (so far): Chimichurri Steak was by far one of my favorites. That Chimichurri sauce was so perfect. The beef was perfectly cooked and I could even taste the grilled flavor in the meat. Breakfast Pizza with light marinara, scrambled eggs, sausage and pepperoni totally hit the spot!! I'm a huge pizza fan and this was perfection in the morning. I air-fried 2 pieces each morning and savored every bite. Steak & Eggs was delicious. Bibimbap was fantastic!! The sauce was excellent and mildly spicy. I added extra sriracha and tamari sauce. I still have a Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese to try but how can you go wrong with that?! There are a number of small boutique stores located here. This Japanese restaurant was a great find when I was out walking. I was actually going to pick up some food at another place. I read some of the reviews to get an idea of what to expect and was pleased to find that the food here is very good. This is a takeout only restaurant. They cater and also Chef Maezaki teaches sushi techniques in the surrounding area. I entered the front door and walked to the large counter. I was greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. I asked a number of questions and realized that I must be talking to Chef Maezakl. He showed me the menu. He also showed me specials that they were offering. After taking some time I decided to order the special wagyu beef entree, and a spicy tuna hand roll. I sat down in one of the chairs available and waited. I could smell great aromas from the food being prepared in the kitchen. I was happy when my food arrived about 15 minutes later. I could sense his pride in what he had prepared for me. I enjoyed the complete dinner that was the wagyu beef entree. There was rice, pickled cucumber, California roll sushi, a special piece of fried chicken, and chicken gyoza. It came in a perfectly packed & arranged container, ready to eat. I'm happy to say the taste translated to a great experience in dining. The marinated beef was tender and flavorful. The chicken was moist tender with a crisp exterior. The cucumber salad was bright and refreshing. The fresh sushi was a nice touch. I went back another time to try the cold chicken ramen, a three piece chicken appetizer, and the tiramisu. I was happy with the fresh flavor of the vegetables in the ramen. It was a nice change. All I can say about the tiramisu is that it has an addicting flavor! I can't wait to have it again. It's nice that the parking lot accommodates all the small boutique businesses.
