I've been a customer for a few month now and aside from that fact that the ever-rotating menu has lots of tasty, creative, healthy options to choose from, the customer service is top tier! I decided to write this review after they still managed to deliver to me in the middle of Hurricane Hilary! They typically deliver in the middle of the night on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, but with the flooding and area-wide blackout, I would have understood a missed day in the name of safety. Somehow though, the delivery person still made it upstairs to my apartment through dark, emergency-lit hallways. (Luckily my apartment is powered by an emergency generator so my refrigerator was still running and ready for the delivery.) Even without taking last night's delivery into account, I've signed up for several pre-cooked meal delivery services over the past few years and this one's the clear winner. When it comes to food quality, diverse menu options, delivery consistency and responsive customer service, I haven't found anything that comes close. My particular meal plan is about $50/day, so it's pricy but worth it to me since it makes staying healthy so much easier than it was when I was spending a similar amount through food delivery apps daily. read more

They basically know what they are doing in cooking and delivering meals, which can't be easy, on this scale. What is doubtful is how much they know about nutrition- or customer service. I ordered a week of meals in order to learn about a DASH diet, which was recommended to me for borderline high blood pressure. At around $525, lunch and dinner was expensive enough, so figured I could make my own breakfast. As others have mentioned, just a day or two in, Jackie sent an email to see how it was going- and did I have any suggestions. I did have suggestions, related to questions. Notably, why were there no calorie counts, nor even ingredient list? Why were there hardly any whole-grain foods, when I understood them to be an important part of a DASH diet- which this was supposed to be? If I split one meal between lunch and dinner, I would have spare calories to add my own whole-wheat bread, but how many would it be? Likewise with non-fat dairy: As I had to supply my own, how much? Calorie counts- on meals, juices, soups, salads, etc- and more whole grains and no/ low-fat dairy would be suggestions, if Nutrifit had not thought of these things. The only straight answer I got was that I got no dairy because I hadn't ordered breakfast. Also, yoghurt cup sometimes came with snacks, but I got juice instead (of which several were delicious and one, undrinkable). O.k.- so I supply my own dairy. Jackie supplied no straight answer to the question of whole grains, nor to the related one of calorie counts. She said I got low levels of carbohydrate because I had asked for 20% of calories from carbs and 60% fat, as well as 20% protein, showing I didn't know what a DASH diet was. I said, that was surely a mistake; I meant 60% carbs, because the other way would be a ketogenic diet I know a DASH diet isn't- a reason I was willing to try it. I said I was surprised the system wouldn't catch that, since it said- I clearly recall- percentage calories from fat can be 15- 30% Replied Jackie, very promptly: We don't try to second-guess people; we do allow for ketogenic diets, though we don't recommend them. Moreover we don't encourage clients to indicate macronutrient proportions (carbs/ fat/ protein), because they generally don't understand them. And by the way, I hadn't ordered any more meals; Did I want any? Easy out for declining- as I expect she actually wanted, with such a difficult client. (If I could afford $2000 + per month, I'd try going on a weight-loss drug with my own food.) I said; well, that's strange: The interface for the higher-level meal plan asked me to specify macronutrient percentages. No; no more meals, because it's apparent that how I think about things does not correspond to what Nutrifit expects from clients. And concluded with thanks for the meals. People in that kitchen must have a pretty tough job. In responding, Jackie referred to herself as "a well trained nutritionist." Maybe I am, too, with a Biology minor and courses in human and animal nutrition. Her credentials include certification as a coach, but not as a nutritionist. I do feel that these prepared meals gave me a sense of the salt level of a dash diet and for how hungry I would feel on a diet I might lose weight on (a lot, but not unbearably). I think I could have learned as much, or more, and saved a lot of money, by getting a cookbook. read more

We've used probably a half dozen meal delivery and make-your-own delivery services over the years, and NutriFit has so far outshown them in service, responsiveness, and individual attention that they aren't even in the same category. And ease of use, wow! I actually found the website a little difficult, so I emailed them, received a reply from Alex, and ever since then all questions, problems, and changes are resolved easily and quickly with a fast email. The cancellation window is AMAZING -- I've had services where you had to make a change in what you order or if you order TEN days ahead of time. Nutrifit's is measured in hours. And so flexible -- I asked for extra meals specifically to be frozen, sure no problem! The food is very healthy, meeting my husband's need for post heart surgery diet restrictions, but with large portions. If there's something you don't like, they just work around it. Ok ! So Here we go! I saw a neutral fit online and I had driven past the store several times. It intrigued me and I wanted to not have to cook meals and wanted some thing healthy during the week. you know Covid weight gain and all) I called to see what kind of meals they had it sounded OK. What I liked about it is they said the meals would be ready in a couple hours which was better than delivery services that I knew. I bought eight meals a total of $137. Honestly the meals were not very good. It was very bland and some of the prepared meals we're actually under cooked. There were no calories or information about my meals and I was a little disappointed. One of the women had called me back from nutrifit And unfortunately it was a very slow and painful conversation. I told her about my disappointment and she apologized and that was it no discount no nothing Just a we're sorry to see you go. Then over the phone she was trying to find out how many meals I had bought if I had bought it at the right spot and and to read me off the calories. I can't get back those 20 minutes of my life. So I was a customer on and off for over 5 years. The food varies from very bland (think worse than hospital food) to actually decent - but never excellent. If you want to lose weight because you won't enjoy what you are eating (so you'll eat less) - then this is perfect for you. My 2nd biggest issue (past the taste) is with the customer service. If you enjoy being told things like "we can't" or "only this one time as a special favor just for you", then this place is for you! These are things that other meal companies would simply do without question because they understand true customer service and the lifetime value of a customer. 3rd issue - no variety if you don't like their option that day then you are stuck choosing from the same dishes each week. Plus, their custom software that let's you change your dishes sounds great, but doesn't work far enough in advance. When I tried to change a meal online it wouldn't let me. Then when I finally saw the meal they selected it was too late to change it! 4th, they don't deliver daily like the really solid meal services do. Receiving your food fresh daily does make a big difference in taste. 5th, they like to charge you $4 for snacks like pre packaged trail mix, jerky, an orange, or a whole avocado (seriously?). For a snack I want something I can't pull off a shelf. This is just a way for them to make extra cash. Possibly worst of all their delivery person could not figure out how to use my gate code one day. So they stepped on the sensor when they reached over to throw my food over the gate, which damaged my gate requiring a service call that I had to pay for. Then the customer service and owner never once apologized and essentially accused me of lying about the whole thing! I've now tried 6 different meal delivery companies. So if you really want great companies look at the ones on Yelp with 5 Stars. There is a reason they don't have complaints. I've found a new company that provides absolutely excellent tasting food, reliable deliveries, great variety of food, true real food snacks, daily deliveries and reasonable prices. They have surpassed my expectations, probably because of my prior low standards set by my poor experience with this company. The food is a nice healthy service that's convenient and provides optimized guidance. The delivery service is reliable. The bags are durable holding the food and storing them properly. The food containers are are remarkable in that, they're reusable if you wash them and keep them yourself to prepare foods and store items, then you can mimic and replicate the portions at your option. Let me start by saying I searched and tried other food delivery services. By far, NurtiFit was the best for me. I've used their service on and off (pending my schedule) over the last two years. Jackie (the owner) is the real deal. She listens to your needs & helps you 100%. The first time I tried the service I was a little skeptical because of the other places I've tried. Within ONE WEEK I knew I made the right call. The food was terrific & I felt awesome. I dropped 12 lbs in one month, but importantly...I felt heathier than I had in a long time. When people ask me about pricing (some think its pricey...it not). I am amazed that the people who reviewed this company could by any stretch of the imagination consider this food delicious or excellent or gourmet. I was very excited to start the program. But when the first two days of food came, I knew right away that it wasn't for me. The food was fresh, yes., meaning not frozen. But it was the most unimaginative food I've ever seen. Think Airplane food. I do believe that if I just bought lean cuisine or other healthy frozen meals of the same ilk, I could have saved myself a ton of money and got the same exact boring product. (dinner the first night was 4 or 5 meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, in 2 tbs gravy, 6 rotini pasta noodles, and 2 sprigs cooked cauliflower. The salad was green lettuce, the boring kind, with sliced celery, sclied red bell pepper and a tablespoon of French Dressing. The lettuce wasn't crisp and had some browning around the edges of some leaves). I had a nice young man on the service/sales phone call, but it felt more like a sales call then a call with someone who really knew and cared about nutrition. A few years ago I tried a home delivery company that had super inventive cuisine that was delicious, healthy and gorgeous to look at that used tons of vegetables and fruits in every dish so that I ate about 8 servings a day This was in a different city - oh how I wish they were in Los Angeles. I wanted to like this company, and I wasn't going to write such a bad review, but I decided it was only fair to the consumer. I was duped by the 5 star reviews and I don't want other consumers to be duped either. I gave it two stars because Jason, the salesperson was very nice. And I also must say that for some people this level of food might be just what they want. It's so much like eating Lean Cuisine that it might be very familiar to people. I found it to be appallingly expensive for what it was. I hope that the company can get its act together a bit. I don't know if the company will respond to this review or not. It will probably note that I only tried two days of meals. After getting that first delivery and trying out the first day's food and taking a good look at the next day's food, I could tell that the kitchen of Nutrifit was stuck in a certain mentality about food. Between 3 and 4 stars. I asked for a paleo-taliored week long trial of food for breakfast and dinner. The dinners were my favorite because their menu had varieties of fresh vegetables and a healthy amount of meat/poultry seasoned just right. However, the breakfast got repetitive. The paleo breakfast option was limited to fruits and eggs. Every fruit in the bowl was ripe and delicious unlike the ones you pick up at a supermarket to find that less than half of the fruits are edible but the egg breakfast was not fantastic. It was some kind of frita or scramble egg with vegetables and it usually tasted bland. When you are on your online account there is a neat feature to rate your food to also determine if you loved your food or if you never want to see it again. Then there was the delivery issue. Despite giving very clear explicit directions and a video of myself using the apartment door code to open the door the first delivery man failed to enter and called me early at 4 in morning 10 minutes after he left the premise. He should have called me the moment he couldn't get in. The second delivery was also a fail. I sent an irate email and phone call and was insisted that I pick it up from their home office. Fuming mad after the pick up, It took me to an hour and 30 minutes to get home. And on the third delivery try, finally the delivery man entered the door code right. I didn't have this issue with other food delivery vendors. read more

In addition, It's rate that I've been able to speak to someone on the phone and get real answers and guidance. I called Nutrifit on a Sunday afternoon. The phone was answered by Jackie Keller, the owner, who then proceeded to assess my goals and needs, as well as answer all of my questions and concerns. Within 20 minutes I was signed up and the food was delivered promptly on Monday without a hassle. In fact, Jackie emailed me a couple of days into my program to ask if I was satisfied and had any feedback. That really made a huge difference for me. The food is delicious for being "healthy." I can tell its healthy by the portions and ingredients, yet can actually enjoy the meal without feeling like I'm missing out on something. What i notice most is the consistency in my blood sugar levels, energy, and mood. My first week of meals was the best week I've felt in months. I noticed a big hole on the weekend without a meal deliver. While I ate well it was clear to me that the structure, timing, and nutritional calculations of the nutrifit meals work extremely well. Over that weekend I was cranky, with more fatigue. Also, I didn't like having to think about what to eat, which is part of the problem and creates anxiety for me, often leading to giving up and just splurging. The food was fine...nothing more spectacular than some other new companies out there, it's just that Jackie was so cheap about everything that it became hard to deal with her. The deliveries were always cold and prompt, however. It seemed as though she bullied her staff and they never seemed to be trained that well. She never credited me for meals that i had due and acted like i was asking her for something that wasn't due to me. I was a customer on and off for about 2 years. I also questioned whether they really did their best to get local and organic. I hope this review isn't removed. I had been using Nutrifit for about 2 months, until I nearly broke my tooth on a large and sharp rock-like object that was in one of my meals. I notified Nutrifit of the object, along with a picture of it (see uploaded photo), but they brushed off my complaint claiming that the object was probably just an uncooked lentil. Nutrifit did not offer me a credit for the meal until I alluded to potential liability, at which point they immediately discontinued my service. So my advice for anyone who decides to go with this service is to (1) carefully inspect your food before chewing, and (2) do not let Nutrifit know that you are aware of your rights as a consumer or they will cut your service off. read more

I finally decided to really get serious with getting in shape so I decided to find a great meal delivery plan. I tried Nutrisystem and that is a waste of time. Jackie is very friendly and I recommend you come in and do the exam. Best $80 I spent. They measure the amt of oxygen you utilize through a breathing machine to calculate your daily at rest calorie consumption. Furthermore, they weight you and determine everything from your BMI to how many pounds of water you carry. After my test, I was shocked to discover I burn calories like a furnace which makes my dieting a little bit easier. I signed up for the daily meal plan from Mon-Thursday, lunch & dinner. So far, the meals have been fantastic. Well portioned and apparently their menu is so large, you will never have the same meal. read more

The first time I tried NutriFit was back in 2005. Since then I've tried a lot of other food delivery services out there - Paleta, Sunfare, Zone Chefs, etc - and NutriFit is definitely one of the best out there which is why I'm back with them again! The food is absolutely delicious and I love that I don't have to spend time I don't have in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. They make everything from scratch, the food isn't heavily processed or full of preservatives. It's very clean, healthy food that tastes great. I made the decision to eat clean beginning of 2010 and cooked all my own meals. You know? It's a lot harder than it looks! I was spending all my free time either shopping for food, cooking or cleaning up, precious time that could be spent with family, exercising, or getting much needed rest. So I'm really happy I found my way back to NutriFit, I just wish I hadn't waited until fall of 2010. This is my second time with them and it's still exciting to see what I get to eat every day. There is always a good amount of food that arrives, it doesn't feel like you're on a deprivation or elimination diet that restricts several food groups, believe me, I've been on those too and they aren't sustainable in the long run. NutriFit teaches you how to eat. Each meal is portion controlled so you learn the amount of food you're supposed to eat so that it becomes a lifestyle rather than this diet train that you hop on and off of. The best thing, other than the food, is the personal and attentive customer service. My rep is always around to answer questions, and believe me, I have a lot of questions. I'm also very picky and have quirky food requests and frequent changes but they have always been able to accommodate me without any problems. OMG Nutrifit is incredibly delicious and full of flavor - not only are we eating more healthy, we're both losing weight in just 2 weeks of Nutrifit and we feel great and we're not hungry! I actually thought most of the food was really really delicious overall. There were a couple of meals that were terrible but overall all very good and I looked forward to eating them. They always had exciting new meal ideas so I never got tired of the food. My only problem is that for paying $1,600 a month the owner is very stingy. I've tried at least 4 other delivery services (Zen (expensive small portions), Klean LA (good, but repetitive meals and small potions), Meals to Go (food wasn't great), Territory Foods (very delicious, great customer service, great price, just a little repetitive). While their food is the best their customer service is lacking. For other plans if there was a misunderstanding with an order, an accidental order or if I really hated a meal- all the companies would give me credit or correct it without hesitation. With this company there seems to be if there's a mistake on their end or if I happen to hate a meal so badly I threw it out- they were very hard to work with to get a credit for even one meal. That's why I didn't renew with them. I've paid them $1,600 for at least 3 months. You would think for a single meal you didn't like, they wouldn't mind taking a hit on the occasional meal here or there because you shelling out a lot of money not NutriFit they want every single dollar and don't care if you like the food or not. For the amount of money that is being paid, they need to provide a better level of customer service. read more

Highly recommend especially for new parents exhausted with baby care, as well as parents of school-aged children who are working AND teaching at home these days.....We are intermittent customers who are definitely back ON right now with Safer at Home. Because we need to limit our grocery shopping, and we actually have so many other things to do at home, we don't want to be in the kitchen hours a day. With 21 meals to shop/prepare/clean up, that's a lot of time, plus the risk of exposure with shopping and the inconsistent grocery stock. Except for when I've ordered individual meals following a surgery, we are fans of the Family Fare/ A La Carte. The entrees are a GENEROUS 2-3 servings, and I can order a great balance of meat, poultry, and veg for the week. Then I supplement fresh vegetables and salad from a delivered farm box. I make a quick quinoa, rice, potato, or pasta on the side if needed. Having a tasty entree really eases the chore load and mental pressure. The delivery is flawless; we've never had an error in an order. The family meals are NOT customizable, so we can't, for example, say 'hold the mushrooms,' but we understand that's why they're affordable. I've used NutriFit on and off since 2009, this is my go-to meal delivery company for life. I say this because I've tried 20-25 other meal delivery companies over the last ten years, and most of them were disappointing because their customer service ranged from subpar to terrible. The owners of most of those companies didn't seem to care enough about their businesses, customers, or reputations, and this showed in their numerous negative reviews online. Anyhow, I can vouch for this company 100%. Over the years, I've used NutriFit to help me lose weight, and/or eat healthy meals on a consistent basis. Owner Jackie always provides white glove treatment, and everyone who works for her, from delivery people to customer reps, are super efficient and professional. Jackie LOVES what she does for a living, she operates from compassion, and I can tell that she cares a lot about her employees because they've treated me very well each time I've returned. I can't rave enough about Jackie and nutrifit. She helped me lose 28 pounds of pregnancy weight! I just had another baby and I'm on nutrifit once again and I am already losing a lot of weight. Jackie is extremely knowledgeable and has made sure I am losing weight and getting everything my body needs. The food is absolutely delicious. I can't believe I get to eat grilled cheese sandwiches, eggplant Parmesan, quesadillas, egg rolls, tacos, pancakes, waffles..... and still lose weight. I also have dessert every night!! I am so thankful that I get to enjoy food and lose weight. I love that I am able to view my menu and change my selections. I am also able to order off a family style menu for my family and she delivers it with my meals. I have served her meals to company and they always love the food....and so do the kids!!!! I don't know how I would lose all this weight again without nutrifit. I feel good, have a ton of energy and look forward to my meals. Often times on "cheat days" I am bummed out that I didn't stick to my meal plan because Nutrifit food is better than my cheat meal! Now that I've been receiving meals for a few weeks, I can say that the food is delightful! There's variety and fineness. I had delicate empanadas, eggplant parmigana and Jamican jerk turkey with grilled peppers. The peppers were a little charred for great taste. My daughter was in the hospital and needed meals that fit her dietary restrictions - which are a lot. We were panicked, knowing that it would be difficult for the hospital kitchen to adhere to her restrictions, and make good food. NutriFit was a blessing. We found them on the internet and Jackie and Chef Oscar created a daily menu for our daughter that was nourishing, delicious, and met her restrictions. The first thing I'm doing in the morning is cancelling my deliveries for good (to see my pictures, scroll down till you are at the bottom).I am the type of person who values quality when it comes to my meals, I have been meal prepping organic/fresh for over a year. Looking for convenience and to save time I started nutrifit about a month ago.. Meals were great and delicious at first, service was great but as time went on I started feeling disappointed daily. Sometimes the meals had an off taste like it had been frozen and then other times my veggies would be way under portion (I'm talking literally 4 broccolis) my protein/meat portions were sometimes below 3oz as well...I workout everyday & have been feeling beyond starrrrvinnnngggg and because of this I have been adding my own portions..which is not okay. I'm a very vocal person so I kept calling and letting them know what I wasn't happy with and nothing ever changed. The other day I spoke with Jackie and she explained frozen items don't necessarily mean lost nutrition or that it's bad for you & that she would make note to make sure I receive proper portions. Looking forward to these changes being made I was eating my food today & found hair deep in it (can't be mine because my hair was pulled back) disgusted I threw it away.. & then as I was putting my new delivery in the fridge I found a bug attached to the tape (keep in mind, the container the food is delivered in is sealed with a red plastic that you have to cut off) this means the bug has been in there since they packed it in their kitchen... Yikkkessss I feel so disappointed & upset. I don't recommend this delivery service to anyone! read more
