These are the BEST electricians in the bay area! The electricity in my house stopped working after my roof leaked...soaking my carpets. I called a number of electricians to troubleshoot the problem. The GFI and breakers did not trip so I couldn't figure out the problem. As a female, I'm always concerned about contractors trying to overcharge me or telling me to get work done when it wasn't necessary. For example, an electrician from a different company wanted to charge me $399 just to troubleshoot the problem. Then, he estimated another $500-$1,500 to fix the problem/wire restoration. Also, he recommended that I replace my breaker panel for another $3,400. After this quote, I was horrified so I called VC Electric for a second opinion. They fixed my problem for less than $250. VC Electric is an honest company. They were not only on time, but they called ahead to ask me if it was ok to show up early. In addition to being professional and friendly, the electrician took the time to explain what caused my electrical failure and the potential hazards if not fixed properly. Our outdoor pool equipment panel suddenly stopped working. After reading other Yelp reviews, I called VC Electric. The owner, Victor Chavez, and I spoke and he was at my place a day or so later. He gave me an estimate after confirming that the wiring between our pool equipment panel and the main one inside our house had been damaged. He also confirmed that the outside panel itself was in fact inadequate for the amount of pool equipment drawing power from it. He also brought up an issue in that the wiring between the two panels was aluminum instead of copper, thus not being up to code. Due to our busy work schedule, he was able to fit us in on a Saturday. Victor and his crew arrived on time, did the work promptly, disposed of the exchanged parts, cleaned up afterwards and answered all of my questions. It was a great experience overall.
