One our favourite go to bars. Service, food, drinks, are always on point. Great selection of drinks including domestic and all the right imports, especially for expats like us. Thank you!

So they have a "Raspberry Bubbles" cocktail, which is a Brut Champagne, Malibu Coconut Rum, with raspberry purée! Served in a classic Champagne coupe very 1920s / classic Hollywood! A traditional Chicago Lincoln Park Pub! I loved the quaintness of it all! The coconut shrimp paired wonderfully with the yummy spirits! Service was awesome (yay to Jack the bartender who was absolutely awesome

This cozy pub in the Lakeview area has great specials during the week. We stopped by for the $0.50 wings. They have two types: Buffalo and BBQ. We got some of each. They were ok, nothing to write home about and the size of the wings were a bit small. But they also have a large selection of beers, cocktails and fun drinks to choose from. The bartender was a nice Irish guy that made everyone feel welcome. Check out the photo with the Specials and pick what you like, so you can visit at your leisure.

Here it is 2022 and I have to leave a review about a racist experience at a bar. Today I just went and sat down in front of the pub and was greeted by a really disrespectful server. He asked what I was going to order since I was sitting on his porch. I requested tequila and water and he did not want to serve me water until I paid my bill. When I asked of him To serve me inside he took my margarita and said leave. I do not recommend going here if you are a black woman.

This has quickly became my friends' and my favorite local spot, especially in these cold months. There's always the perfect amount of patrons, I love the local vibe, the staff is so friendly, and their happy hour deals are awesome (some beers $5, $7 pizzas, and more 4-6 M-F). They always have sports on and is a guaranteed cozy spot for drinks with friends. Highly recommend checking this spot out!!

In town for the weekend and needed a place where I could watch the Browns. The Browns are the Browns and I love and hate them, so I almost didn't come because why waste 3 hours watching a terrible football team when I could be out exploring Chicago when I'm only here for 2 days. But luckily Vaughan's was so cool that watching the Browns lose wasn't so bad. Great specials, great ambiance, great people. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

I came down to Vaughan's while waiting to be seated at another restaurant and wanted to stay longer! Friendly service as soon as I walked in until the moment I left. I did two of the bloody Mary's served Chi-rish style - with a bit of Guinness on top! Great flavor but just wish they had pickles for the bloodys haha! Love the cast of characters at the bar - the world needs more bars like this! Lol My first time coming here but certainly not my last! :)

Is the Giant Pretzel still GIANT?

The brisket taco here is delicious, there is no doubt about it. I've been coming to Vaughan's for over 3 years now and I've always had a great experience with the food (brisket tacos and giant pretzel), drinks and the service. Until last weekend. Such a disappointment! So I was convincing my friends to go to Vaughan's to eat the GIANT pretzel and the delicious brisket tacos. I talked about how big the giant pretzel was and how they would be surprise. Well, we get to the bar, the order without looking at the menu (because we knew what we wanted) and we waited for the food while drinking some beers. The woman that brought our food put everything on the table in front of us and I immediately say: "WHAT?! What happened to the pretzel? It's so much smaller than usual. Did you guys change anything?" She said she had no idea what I was talking about, said that the pretzel was the same as usual and that I must not remember right because she had been working there for two years. I asked her to check with the kitchen but she couldn't care less. She never checked with the kitchen nor checked with us again for the whole night. It's fine to make the pretzel smaller or charge more but to pretend it was always like that it is just wrong. Even the tray for the pretzel changed. You decide!

    Buffalo chicken nachos and wings
    Kat D.

I've been to Vaughan's so many times I'm, like, 5 items away from having had everything on the menu (they have a pretty small menu so that's not that impressive). The highlights for me are the nachos (both kinds but ESPECIALLY the pot roast nachos) and the wings (classic and Korean BBQ). The bathrooms are also easy to find and always stocked and clean, BUT most noteworthy about Vaughan's is probably how attentive the people who work there are. They're always super fast and attentive even when there's only one person working there and it's a bingo night. Tldr: try the pot roast nachos!!

I stopped by recently after passing by many times and this couldn't be further from my experience! At around 6:30pm on a weeknight, it was pretty deserted. I think some music in the background could have helped the vibe a bit. The staff gave us our choice of seating and was friendly and attentive throughout. We started with the dry rub chicken wings with buffalo sauce and the cheese curds. I was very surprised with how good both were- the chicken wings were extra crispy, not too greasy, and seasoned very well. The cheese curds were also extra crispy on the outside and delightfully melted on the inside. The marinara sauce served alongside was average, but they went super well with the creamy ranch dressing. For mains, we ordered the corned beef with cabbage and chicken pot pie. Both were really outstanding! The corned beef was slow cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce and flavorful mashed potatoes. The chicken pot pie was also hearty with a great flavor and homemade crust. Overall, this is a great spot to get some food off of the usual track. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Every time I visit, the decor never ceases to impress. It's classy but unpretentious and you can tell folks are there to have a good time. We arrived at about 8:30pm on a Saturday and it was packed. Luckily, we were able to snag seats at a bar before a table opened up around 9pm. A note that they don't take reservations (but I kind of wish they did!), so this isn't the place to go if you're in a rush. They had a special seasonal menu going for the holiday, and we started with the reuben hush puppies. While they were more like croquettes, they were extra crispy, cheesy, and juicy with the most delicious thousand island dressing. I wish they would offer this year round! For mains, we ordered the corned beef and buddha bowl. I really liked the horseradish aioli that came with the beef- while the meat could've been more tender, it had a great flavor overall. The cabbage actually tasted pickled and the carrots sweet; non-traditional, but tasty! The buddha bowl had a very wide range of veggies and perfectly cooked rice. I could drink that spicy peanut sauce. I appreciated how large the portions were, which definitely softened the price as we left with plenty of leftovers. All in all, we had a great experience- if you haven't checked Wilde out, I highly recommend doing so!

Whiskey fans, you'll love the huge selection along with the impressive beer selection. Yelp should really hype this as a whiskey bar, too. It more than qualifies. The cuisine is phenomenal. Definitely a place to bring a large party on your first visit, so you can sample a multitude of wonderful creations. Pro Tip: if you can tolerate a large quantity of fish, visit on a Wednesday for their AYCE Fish & Chips. I've had many hum drum AYCE dinners that are drab and only fill you up. Not this one. It's a great meal and a great deal. The Shepherd's Pie was fabulous, as was the Bangers and Mash. They've created a Haggis Burger that has to appease Americans, yet, still be haggis. A tall order since most would hate "true" haggis. Fear not, it's not your grandfather's haggis, it is a tasty burger. The fries were great but I'd recommend the Tattie Skins. We tasted so many different malts it was hard to pick a favourite. No foolin' they had island malts, highland malts, speyside and even a couple from the lowlands. Easy to spend over two hours in this public house. We did. Can't wait to get back to this town. This is a must! 02/26

The (female) bartender was very nice about turning on the game, as most patrons were barely watching the tvs. The drinks were fine but the floor was STICKY, and no one came to pick up the discarded cups from the table. I know it was a early Saturday night and it's busy but there needs to be a busser or something. I did not ask anyone to clean the table so that may be on me as well. The bathroom was clean..technically. But the graffiti on the wall was not! Again, it's a dive bar, not expecting high art, but is this encouraged or just what people do?
