I would only come back for the Lunch Menu deal (Soup or salad + entree + complimentary bread for 16€). The soup was okay, the salad was worth the visit. Then, my girlfriend got the Diablo shrimp, and she only got five pieces (quite small, by the way) and my steak had a weird shape that make it impossible for the chef to cook it well (to red in the inside, very well done in the outside). The service may be slow, because there were a lot of tables. Again, I would go back for this deal but not for the regular menu. After walking around in the late October chill, we went in search of a hot and hearty meal. My boyfriend was craving some Flemish stew, while I wanted to get some of the famous mussels. This place hit the spot! Conveniently located and not too busy (at least when we went for an early dinner). The portions were just right and though a little pricey, it was worth it. The stew has a wonderfully rich sauce and the meat was so tender you could just squish it between your tongue and the roof of your mouth! I love this place. Great food; their Mussels were the best I've ever had in my life! The mussels were extremely tender and delicious. My wife had the local chicken casserole, it was awesome, much like the inside of a great chicken pot pie. We went twice in a 3 day period. I also had the Tenderloin and it was excellent, very tender steak with a grilled smokey flavor. I stopped by with my girl friend and ordered what I thought was a soufflé. When it got to our table it was a frozen custard mirroring a traditional baked soufflé. It was definitely not what I was expecting. After asking the server if he brought out the correct dessert he explained that glase (the name on menu) means frozen and that's how they served it. After checking out of our hotel and getting ready for our return to Paris, I had an uncontrollable urge for a waffle. Where were all those waffle places I had seen during the previous day's rambling through Ghent? And why was every outdoor cafe on the sunny side of the street in the uncharacteristic heat? We were ready to give up when we noticed Vaudeville. Waffles on the menu? Maar natuurlijk! What was not included in the menu was the fact that waffles are not available before 2 PM. It was 1:15 when we sat down, so we nursed our coffees and waited. The wait was worth it. The waffles (a brown sugar & butter, a chocolate banana, and a nutella banana) were perfect. I was wandering Ghent Belgium looking a place to eat, there are many. I saw a review for this place and Ghent Stew, a traveling favorite of mine. I came here and...wow! What an awesome place. I sat inside, it's very nice. Well done but not too much, everyone in jeans. The Ghent Stew is to die for. Really delicious. Hoping I can make it back here for more one more day on this trip.
