I went to Cafedraal for dinner with some friends and had such a great time! I had the Seabass with Truffle Sauce and Spinach which I absolutely loved. 2 of us shared shelled shrimps to start and ice cream for dessert and they were okay. My friend who got a meat/steak meal really loved it too but I don't remember which specific one. Drinks were good and service was okay. This was a very nice restaurant with a delightful courtyard. Our table was under a pergola covered in ivy. The service staff are a little more brusque than we found at most Belgium restaurants, but they were professional and performed well. The food was very good. We had the Chateaubriand, which was well cooked and a fine steak. We were surprised it did not have the usual pate and phyllo wrapping, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. The house wine was quite good. My wife and I had booked a table at this restaurant tonight. It's our honeymoon, we've just been married and were celebrating our first night as man and wife. We had booked a table in advance. When we arrived to an empty checkin desk no one greeted us...eventually after 10 minutes of waiting an extremely rude staff member appeared and bluntly directed us to ask the waiters outside for our pre-booked table. When the "waiter" eventually decided to talk with us he rudely and bluntly dismissed us and said "we've no tables, go wait inside"...no smile....no hello... no - we apologize for the inconvenience....when we challenged him and said we'd booked a table for 8pm he said go for a walk for 30 minutes and come back. We literally could not believe how rude, intolerable and unprofessional this person was. He (longish greased blond hair past his shoulders) had absolutely no people skills and was clearly lacking basic empathy. We were shocked by his behavior and decided to leave. If you are the business owner reading this you need to have a very stern conversation and reality check with your staff if you want to keep your business alive. You need to review your hiring practice. These people deserve to be fired immediately and new staff hired. A complete disgrace and unnecessary disappointment! We're lucky another fantastic restaurant near by made our night and didn't ruin our honeymoon! Shameful!! We were parked nearby and I desperately needed a coffee - so stopped here and then thanks to yelp reviews also found out it was the restaurant that was featured in the In Bruges movie. The staff were kind enough to point out the table Colin Farrell sat in during the movie. My cappuccino was awesome - perfectly brewed and accompanied by almond orange cookies, a sweet roll and to Toblerone. Cost was €4.50 and another of my dining companions got a glass of red wine, which he said was fantastic! Too bad we were short of time, but want to come back and eat here! read more

A cool and delicious restaurant located in the heart of Brugge. We first saw it included in the move "In Bruges" and thought it would be fun to check out. We ended up enjoying an excellent meal in a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. The amuse bouche was a smoky cod mousse with a touch of seaweed. It was quite ice, especially spread on the fresh bread brought to the table. We started with a hefty portion of pan seared seabass served on a plate of fresh tomatoes, olive oil and green onions. For my main, I tried the paling - wich is eel stewed in a green herb sauce. The texture was flaky like a well-cooked with fish. The sauce was mild but flavorful, which is only right since the recipe calls for a dozen different spices. Plenty of dessert choices, although the large portion for both courses left us too full to have any. Oliver took excellent care of us at the table, and made sure we had a great time throughout the evening. He even showed us where the movie was filmed. We sat downstairs where the a la carte menu is offered. You can also book a table upstairs and try the tasting menu. The restaurant is only a couple of minutes walk from the belfry and well worth the experience. read more

Delicious food, and a romantic ambiance when dining inside. There was also a casual patio with a nice view of the church. I decided to get the European specialty and get the Dover Sole which was cooked in butter. I was so glad that I did, as it was delicious! Colleagues of mine got the Mussels which looked fantastic, and tasted phenomenal! Definitely book marking this place for next time. read more

Hidden in a small shopping center connecting the 2 main shopping streets of Bruges, you find a hidden garden with terrace. It was very busy, so a little wait, but a nice glas of white house wine helped. Food was good, large portion. I had a salad and this was more then enough to keep us going. read more

Beautiful restaurant! Amazing food We had a delicious lunch, my husband had the seafood casserole that had monkfish, scallops, octopus and shrimp on a delicious cream sauce. This place was really close to our b & b. Also, I read that it was in the movie In Bruges that we loved. We were allowed to pick or outside seat and picked a lovely spot against the side wall under a canopy. Very romantic. I'll start by saying we loved our entrees, he had cod and I had sole fillets. We ordered a carafe of wine that ended up being a light red, not my first choice, but we were confused with the translation. We did not order a starter as there really wasn't anything we both wanted or could share(with one non meat eater) They brought bread and prawns to start. I tried to ear the prawns but they were too fishy for me. Menu was pricey, but atmosphere was nice and place was really popular with locals- we didn't hear any other languages but the Flemish.
