-take out can sometimes take a little bit longer on their busier nights -vegetable thali is good for those who want to try a lot of things -chicken tikka masala never disappoints -garlic naan is SO fresh and always well done -I come here regularly when craving Indian food -I don't have the best pics since I usually order takeout

Lamb Briyani..sooo good and flavorful! Ordered to go, they give you plenty! This was my second serving after I arrived home!!

Went to visit my niece in Marietta a few days ago and I wanted some Indian cuisine and she took me to Vatica! The service was great, not busy (called my order in) ready upon arrival! Ambiance looks quaint, a few customers were dining! Free parking, in a busy plaza! Food was delicious!

My Mother and I have been dinning with Vatica for what feels like a decade. From day one they have been nothing but authentic. Moreover there staff if delightful and the atmosphere is Indian. As for the food the picture speaks for itself. If you're curious what cardamom tastes like come here!!!!

My boyfriend was dying for some Indian food and he's been here multiple times but this was my first. This was a complete surprise. Absolutely phenomenal Indian cuisine. Don't let the parking lot or small complex fool you. There is nothing fancy about the place inside but it's clean and the server was very nice and attentive. The food came out piping hot. He had hot and it is HOT and I ordered medium and I'm sweating . The best part is the naan. The best fresh made naan I've ever had. I love the huge chunks of lamb and chicken in the korma. This is an absolute redo and staple now!

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. I have seen the management change hands over the years. In these 20+years they have grown so very much. From a family owned business ran by a husband and wife team to now being ran as a restaurant by a team! I am so proud of them and their growth. The food is delicious. The buffet on the weekends is balanced with enough variety. Authentic Indian cuisine. The Nan bread is served table side, fresh and hot. Another great improvement over the years has been the ambiance. Now, the seating and layout is attractive, clean and organized. The service by the young men is personable and polite. Check this place out for good quality Indian food!

I was excited to try a new Indian place, but I honestly didn't absolutely love my food here although it was still decent! I ordered the vegetable biryani and it was good but not really the biryani flavor I was looking for! The staff is friendly and accommodating, and there are many options so maybe I just didn't order the right thing! Also the biryani is pretty spicy so just be aware ! They do have a thali that I am interested to try as well. As for the ambiance it's a very chill low key spot. There are several booths throughout and would say it's probably good for an informal dinner!

Lamb saag, chicken vindallo and karahi

This was my second visit as I understood the mangement has changed since my previous visit about 5 years ago. We ordered a veg thali, chicken vindaloo, chicken Karahi and lamb saag. Lamb saag was the pick of the dishes. Clear 4.5 star. Actually all the dishes were well above average when compared to other Indian restaurants. The thali had an assortment of dishes including baigan bharta, lentil, chickpeas and Sweet rice dish. What is more distinctive about the dishes is the north Indian flavor. Predominant cuisine of most Indian restaurants in US is south Indian. All the dishes on thali were well cooked, full of flavors and had an authentic home cooked touch. One thing I would add is that the chicken karahi tasted more like achari chicken, one of my favorite, so no complaints from my end. Well cooked though possibly mislabeled. Quantity of food was good, overall good value for money

Didn't feel like cooking and scrolling through Uber ears trying to figure out what to eat. Since they had a couple to save $20 off of an order $25 or more I knew I had to find something on here. In the mood for Indian and haven't eaten at Vatica in about a year so decided to place an order. The estimated delivery time was an hour so I ordered and waited patiently for my food. Samosa plate 2 pastry shells stuffed with potatoes and peas Thali to go rice, dal, lentils and beans, vegetables, potatoes, papad, roti, and raita. Baingan Bharta egg plant simmered with onion & tomatoes wasn't impressed it was ok Overall good food will order again.

    Vegetarian Thali

I visited Vatica that serves a variety of dishes, but I go there specifically for the Indian thali. The thali is really good, it comes with puri, three sabzis, dal soup, rice, papad, raita, kheer, and one appetizer. The best part is that it is an unlimited thali and I love to eat them. The restaurant has a very homely feel to it, the staff is really nice and the ambiance is not super fancy but it is clean with lot of seating. It's important to note that my review is based solely on the thali as that is my regular order when I visit this restaurant. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying and delicious Indian thali. The food is authentic, the service is friendly and the ambiance is cozy, it feels like home.

I am at my table writing a review because mmm mmm mmm it was so good! Very flavorable, great sides, great service! Will totally be back! My partner had chicken tiki masala and she also loved it also!

I have had 2 very different experiences at Vatica.. overall, the food is very good. The first time I ordered, I ordered through an online app and they definitely missed my order. I placed the order, arrived an hour later then waited 30 minutes. The 2nd time, I called my order in which is the best way to order. The food is great, but specify spicy level or it will be bland. I am a fan of navratan korma & their Korma has frozen vegetables (corn, peas, diced carrot) which is a little disappointing. My boyfriend loves the chicken biryani, spicy hot.

    Restaurant interior
    Adam B.

It has been over a decade since I last visited Vatica. At the time, if my memory can be relied on, the decor was very cozy, with tapestries and linens, and attentive service. I also think that the format was AYCE vegetarian thalis, which were plates with an assortment of vegetarian dishes, plus rice plus bread. Those vegetarian thalis still exist, even if the option is hard to find, but everything else has changed. See my check-in photo for the stark interior, lit by fluorescent lighting, and no personality. On the night that we went, there was a single server. Even though there were only 3 other tables, we didn't see our entrees until an hour after we arrived. The menu has expanded to a kind of standard Southern Indian one, with selections for vegetables, chicken, lamb, seafood, breads, rice dishes, Indo-Chinese, and street food. We dove in, and got the Assorted Platter (app), Gobi 65 (Indo-Chinese), Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Korma, Dal Makhani, Bindi Masala, and Aloo Paratha. The Assorted Platter was supposed to include a vegetable samosa, vegetable pakora (fritters), sheek kabob (skewered, minced lamb) and chicken tikka (marinated chicken cooked in a clay over). The sheek kabob was simply missing. The chicken tikka may have originally been cooked in a tandoori oven, but what we got had been thrown into the fryer, and came out shiny with oil, and completely vulcanized. It was so tough and rubbery that it was inedible. The samosa was well below average, but the pakora were alright. We're big fans of chicken 65, so thought that the gobi 65 (made with cauliflower instead of chicken) would be nice. It had been battered and fried, and then made soggy in an orange sauce, that tasted like a cross between chicken 65 and Buffalo wings. All in all, it was kind of hot (spicy), but kind of good. The entrees came out looking good, but both the chicken tikka masala and lamb korma suffered from the same problem: They were spicy (hot), but not spicy (seasoned). That is, they both tasted very similar, which was simultaneously sweet, bland and hot. I wouldn't get either again. The dal was also a little bland, but that might have been cured with a little salt, had salt been available. It was not sweet. As such, it was one of my favorites. The bindi masala (chopped okra and aromatics) was actually very tasty. It was seasoned beautifully, was a little spicy, and not saucy. We'd get that again. Finally, the aloo paratha (whole wheat flat bread stuffed with seasoned potatoes) was also just bland and heavy. The waiter brought rice, and even packed up more rice with our leftovers. I think that you are much more likely to have some good food if you simply stick to the vegetarian parts of the menu, though, even then, there's no guarantee that your choices will be done well. The transformation of the interior, radical change to the service, and changes to the menu make me wonder whether there's anything left of the old Vatica. It would not surprise me to learn that the current owners just paid for the name from the prior ones, in hopes of luring in business.

    Curry Bowl Garlic Naan
    Venessa M.

Stepped outside of my norm today and so glad that I did. We had Shrimp Biryani, Curry Chicken and Garlic Naan. The Shrimp Biryani was good but very spicy. The Curry Chicken was fantastic. Curry is not always my fav but I could've eaten the entire bowl of it. And the Garlic Naan was an awesome choice; not to garlicky and cooked to perfection. I'll definitely be going back soon so that I can try the Shrimp Curry! The young man that waited on us was so kind. You can tell that we were eating in a family spot. It felt as if we were at their home.

My recommendation would be the baked chicken, cabbage, yams, and sweet potato pie. The ice tea is a must have. Kool aid and coke products are also available. The parking lot is large. So parking won't be a problem. But the inside is small so you will probably want to take the food to go. The menu changes from the week to the weekend with Sunday being soul food day. I will be back to try jerk turkey and meatloaf. Maybe next Sunday.

Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Reviews I'd seen online mentioned parking is a bit limited and that the restaurant is frequently busy. So we were prepared for that even though we were going on a Thursday mid morning. I think there was an influx of people celebrating graduations because it was in fact very busy. However we got very lucky with parking and happened to come in right as someone was leaving. I was sure we would have a wait for a table, which of course would have been fine, but actually we were seated immediately! Which was super nice and unexpected. The atmosphere is bustling but not in a bad way. The restaurant itself is adorable and has a lot of character. It feels like you're having breakfast at an old friend's house. The service was great and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered a specialty coffee, I believe it was the almond joy cold brew, and it was delicious. Strong, which is how I like it and not overly sweet. I ordered the chicken biscuit on the waiter's recommendation and it was absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had. Juicy and crispy. My husband ordered the pimento cheese omelette and was very happy with it, the bacon was thick cut and smoky and flavorful. The pimento cheese grits that came on the side for me were also a stand out, such great flavor. The biscuits are fantastic and the blueberry basil jam that came with my husband's meal was such a nice touch. We will absolutely make a point to come back to Buttermilk Kitchen next time we visit the Atlanta area.

I also tried the Hash Bowl, which was a bit underwhelming. It was a *lot* of potatoes compared to the eggs and bacon bits, and there wasn't a lot of seasoning other than the bacon. Would rather recommend one of the other options if you end up visiting. The drinks are good as well, would recommend the matcha latte (not too sweet!) and the French Press coffee.
