Although I don't smoke, some of my friends do. So after they got literally sucked into vaping (heh), we have traveled around to a couple shops before finding the Vapor Den. This is all new to me, but pretty interesting. This place is really cool. It's in the same little Disneyland Villagey looking mall as Fondue Fred. The place is nice and has some big comfy leather couches. The ART though is amazing. I found out one of the owners is the artist and I'm impressed. Just had my first visit to this little vapor oasis tucked into a cool, cobblestoned shopping area. I had Jordan behind the counter with a wealth of knowledge on all the obscure old parts and accessories I needed. Low and behold, he had parts for an old system I have, right on hand! He knew exactly what they were and where he had em. I have been trying to find them for over a year! I couldn't believe it! He even found me a battery to fit my old tank that I thought had been discontinued. He happened to know they had just made a new series and renamed them. Boom! Back in my old favorite tank for the price of a battery. This place is small and inviting and they really know their stuff. Jordan was a lifesaver. And the prices were great! Place is dull, unorganized, and boring! They have about 20 juices to choose from and gets boring. (No wonder hardly anyone EVER goes there) This would be the FIRST vape store I've been too, and I believe I got ripped off for having NO type of knowledge on vaping. My cousin referred me to this place on the deal they had on an 2 tanks, 2 battery's, liquid, and a charger all for about 60$. I believe it came with a free 10ml bottle of liquid with the purchase but ended up paying extra for it. Came home exited to vape, and my cousins battery (also bought from the Vapor den) was two times the size of mine!!!!!! The cousin of mine, he got charged 60$ for everything and I got charged 80$!!!! I feel compelled to write because of the negative reviews. I just don't get it! I've been going here for over six months so I feel like I'm qualified to review the place. SHOCKING FACT: You will pay more here than you would online! It's true guys! They do have to pay for a storefront! But when you get a non-functional device (fairly common with e-cigs still) online how much hassle is it to return it? I've seen many people walk into the shop and say something they bought doesn't work. Most of the time, these people didn't realize you need to click the battery button 5x to turn the unit on. But when a device is faulty they replace it for free right away. When I got a bammer clearomizer, they replaced it immediately no questions asked. SHOCKING FACT #2: You may have to wait! When it comes to customer service, I'd say they err on the side of too much! Usually I want to just get my juice and get out, but I often have to wait while the guy working is patiently explaining to some grandma how to fill up her vape and the nuances of charging and mg levels and whatever. I don't mind, because I was once that person and I'm not an impatient ass. They have always been very helpful and polite and have hooked me up with small perks for being a loyal customer. They have a stamp card system where you can earn 10-30mg of free juice. They have a fairly static selection of various tobacco, citrus, and other flavors and some selections from Ms. T's like Snickerdoodle, Blueberry Muffin, and this Extreme menthol flavor that clears my nostrils like horseradish. They carry the standard ego-C 510 batteries that fit everything. They also have more advanced systems like the i-Tazte which is huge and has so much battery capacity it can be used to charge your cell phone. They carry Kanger tanks which are the absolute best I've ever found for holding and vaping your juice. If you are new to vaping, you should go here and have a human explain everything to you and help you assemble your first vaping kit. It's more efficient than trying to figure out what to buy online. Once you really get into vaping you can start buying stuff online, but you should have things explained to you first so you don't waste money buying the wrong stuff. If you are a serious vaper, you should support this place because it's a pioneer in this area and where else are you gonna go when you have an emergency vape-fail and you need your fix? read more

6 months ago I didn't know what the heck an electronic cigarette (i.e. nicotine inhaler) was. Being a smoker, I scoffed at the concept. But a good friend of mine who was a hard core, pack a day smoker for 20 years, converted cold turkey. No withdrawals, no cravings, no desire to go back to real cigarettes. Just like that. Bam! I give this place a 2 star because "most" of the employees are very friendly and helpful! Except - - The owner himself. Don't know his name and don't care. He's a tall African American guy. I asked him politely if he had a 6 ml for this particular e juice, he handed me a 0 ml. I said this is 0 ml. He then handed a magnifying glass and said here, you need this? I looked again and confirmed that was a 0 ml. By then, he realized he made a mistake and went upstairs and made a new one for me. I've seen him numerous times at the shop, his demeanor and customer service attitude had always been mechanical and substandard. And... he's the owner?? Go figure. read more

Update 9/23 - I had a problem with a faulty unit (not Vapor Den's fault) & even though the warranty was a bit out of date; they took care of me in a way that was completely fair & a workable, reasonable compromise. Thanks, guys!! I had a great experience here. Vapor Den has a friendly, welcoming, comfortable atmosphere coupled with non-intimating, patient, educationally minded owners which makes this the perfect place for newbies such as myself. To the few people bitching about the slightly higher pricing -- Can you get the stuff a it cheaper online? Of course you can! To that, I'd say the following: 1) Unless you are an expert & already know exactly you want, it's great to be able to feel the product in your hand and taste the vape before buying. In order to do THAT, you need to go to a physical store which will have more overhead than an internet store. 2) You don't have to figure it out all by yourself, you have someone there to show you how the damn things work and answer all your questions. 3) No shipping charges. I quit smoking in 1999, and I've been chunky ever since unless I was running 50 miles a week. It's because I eat constantly-- when I'm hungry, when I'm not hungry, when I'm bored, when I'm with friends. And when I'm not eating I'm chewing my fingernails and biting my pens. The prices are decent here for a B&M shop but the shop isn't too organized, or at least not easily browsable. Everything is kept in wooden drawers and you have to open each drawer and rumble through the product to find what your looking for. The selection is absolutely mediocre at best, the people here are devoid of all basic professionalism, and the prices are just unjustifiable for what you get. Every other vape shop in the area carries QUALITY e liquids for a reasonable price, a decent selection of hardware, and a knowledgeable staff that genuinely wants to help you and make sure that you're going to enjoy what you're buying. I started vaping three weeks ago, I wish I knew about this store before I started. Anyways I live in Santa Clara so it was quite a drive but I am glad I did. I did lots of research online and made many purchases with and with out advise/education. Had I done it the right way I would have just come here first. Oh well you live and learn. Orion who I met today is pretty awesome, allowed us to sit around and try a bunch of his flavors, really low pressure, it is cool to see someone who is into what they do and what they have to share. We were on borrowed time with the meters up the street (we parked in probably the wrong area to park) so we were sort of hurrying ourselves out, but Orion was happy to let us sit there and sample away for a while. Ended up getting some CC24, pretty awesome cigar tasting liquid. They have a much larger variety of juices than I would have ever guess. Anyways if you are thinking about making the switch, totally stop here. I will definitely visit again even if it is just to select some more juices (although next time I will bring something to drink and park somewhere with out a meter so I can relax and sample more). The store is pretty small physically and with only one person working if you want to go there and rush, eeehhhh, I dunno. But vaping is about relaxing, take some time and enjoy yourself. Pros: Super Large Juice selection (you will find love), friendly knowledgable help, sample bar, parts and good gear. I have never walked into a business and been treated so poorly. The obviously disgruntled employee, Sam, started off by saying this is a self serve establishment and I should figure out how to find what I need myself. I was pretty surprised by his obvious disinterest in helping me out. There was no one else in the store but me. At one point, as I was trying to figure out how to decipher the code on their liquid product and I asked him what the numbers meant. He reacted with a condescending tone and told me 'what? You don't know how to read?'! I asked to speak to his boss and then Sam walked out into the courtyard yelling for his boss. It was embarrassing and totally unproffessional. When the owner came down, he was very sweet and apologized for his employees behavior. He said he is young, has been a problem before, and can be in a bad mood. I will no longer shop here because I certainly have no interest in being patronized or insulted again when I can go to a handful of other establishments in the area where they hire helpful and personable employees. read more

Shopped here after doing a fair amount of research on e-cigs and vaping, and when I first walked in, I thought I was in a closet. The place is tiny, but once you get over the claustrophobia, it is actually pretty cozy, at least a half dozen can sit down comfortably. The guy running the store was laid-back and pro. He hooked me up with a Joyetech starter kit that he seemed to pretty much put together on the spot. From the prices I've seen online, this shop's prices are really good. Maybe you can save a few bucks online but actually seeing and feeling this product in my hand - and smoking it right there in the store - well, just try doing that online. I was sold. I walked out of here with 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, 2 chargers, 2 bottles of juice plus another sample bottle he threw in for free - and a discount for having signed up on their website - all this for under $65! I went to the Vapor Den yesterday while visiting friends in Berkeley. What an awesome experience! The guy working at the time was named Max. He was extremely helpful and patient. I showed him my set-up (Envy Ego-t) and he made great recommendations about how I could get more satisfaction from my vaping. Ended up buying a clearomizer and 10ml bottle of e-liquid after sampling many different flavors. Another bonus, trying out varying flavors without having to order online and waiting to see if you like them. I've been vaping and buying from this company for over a year now, so I thought it would be relatively easy. They had a new location that I was familiar with (although last time there was somebody taking a shit in the parking lot). I've never had issues with this company but the guy that I've dealt with had a rough time or something today. You price gauge because of supply and demand, just to turn around and treat your customers like shit. "So now you know where we're located" is absolutely not the response you should give to somebody who's been to that location before, as well as has given you business before. You obviously don't want my business, good shit. I had to call four times to get the code to enter the building, I didn't even want to do that in the first place. Dude didn't even pickup, just for me to enter because of a person who WORKED IN THE COMPLEX, not his office even. Had an amazing experience here. The guy behind the counter was patient and informative helping me choose my first vape. They offered a very competitive price for that vape compared to what i had seen at other shops and online. When I had trouble with the vape they were super helpful I called the same guy and he helped me troubleshoot the issue. Then, I had another issue with this vape and damaged it further trying to fix it. Every single time I've been here the employees have been extremely rude to me. They shrug off my questions, act like they know everything and treat me like I'm an idiot when I ask for recommendations. I only go here when I'm out of options, otherwise I would rather take the 30 minute drive to Tasty Vapor in Oakland.
