I have bought hundreds and hundreds of dollars at this place. My most recent purchase I spent close to $300 worth of items. When I brought the items home I opened the two dog bed boxes that were labeled "new" on the site and they were shred up and useless. I emailed Vanzant with pics of the beds and heard zero response. To be removed or not from Vanzant Auctions was the options Amie gave us, keeping our account only by writing a positive review immediately after she sent the links for Google and Yelp after she literally screamed at me on the phone. Please read the full and very mixed review... 1) I give April and the girls that pick orders 5 stars. April always called me by name- I bid in almost 50 auctions- and paid cash from my own tips. These girls are great- friendly, helpful, and always pleasant. I ALWAYS tipped them. 2) 4 stars to the people behind the scenes that I never knew. 4 Stars to the products I received. Overall I was able to get some fantastic products and deals. Advise: Always do you research. Read each lot description carefully and find the product on more than 1 site to review and get the value. Most items are new or returns. Beware on returns. I got a faucet that was marked complete, box damage and the faucet/handles are chrome but the stopper and pull to close the sink are antique black/bronze. I got a set of sheets that said new, but was missing a pillowcase. There were several other items with issues, but I could overlook them for the most part. There will be issues, but remember these are mostly returns. People do crazy stuff and then take things back. The employees do over 1000 items each auction, so I would never expect them to get it 100% right. I'd say about 90% of what I bought was spot on. There were also disappointments. To be expected on occasion. 3) I bid on wire shelving- value $128.00. I won, and picked up my item. It was particle board with steel side posts worth $50.00. I was upset because I ended out paying almost double for something I did not want and sent an email stating the mistake and that I felt cheated. I did not say anything about workers there. Amie responded very quickly with an email stating that they would make it right. Then said to let her know when I was available and she would call me. The next day when I was available, I let her know, but she said I had to call her. When I did, she cut loose with screaming like I've never heard. I was shocked that a business owner would treat a customer that way no matter what the situation. This is not customer service- it is bullying. She said she was a good girl and slept on it but was still mad so I wouldn't be bringing my negative attitude into her business and saying that her employees did this on purpose. I never said that- I said mistakes happen and just wanted her to know about this one to avoid one in the future. So she gave me 2 options. #1, write a positive review immediately and apologize or #2, she would close my account and I could not bid ever again. I was so shaken I could not write what I felt was a coerced positive review, so decided to wait. Amie gets 5 stars for making things right by sending a full refund, and responding quickly. Taking into account the treatment I got I have to give Amie 0 stars for treating a customer so rudely. I won't be recommending Vanzant to friends and family, and the ranch we were helping get appliances, lots of bedding, and other supplies will no longer be buying from here. read more

I first heard about this place from a friend. I was skeptical but bid on several items. The two that I wanted the most were a washer and dryer. I got both and I'm so happy. The staff at VanZant auctions we're both friendly and helpful upon pick up. They help me load both my washer and my dryer into my car and did so with a smile. They take great care in your items and both items I purchased are amazing and work well. Amy Vincent has a great auction site, as long as she's nowhere around. Amy is rude and does not accept that she could possibly do any wrong. I have been bidding on VanZant auctions for about 6 years and have had several wrong items in my lots, missing items, or broken items. Normally it shouldn't be a big deal to bring this to the attention of the business but with amy, it's always a problem. Amy threatens her customers with being banned from her site if anything goes wrong, regardless of it being your fault or not. I just got tired of the drama and the staff's confusion of not being able to get orders right but I got an email advertisement from her this last week and thought, it's been a while let's see what she's got and I did in total I bid on 84 different things, when I attempted to increase my bid on some of the items that had been outbid on, I got a note saying that the owner was banning me from bidding. I emailed and I called multiple times and was finally told that I had been banned from her auctions for declined payment. What!? I've never been delinquent on any payment and in fact pay cash 90% of the time because of the 5% discount you get with cash. Amy clearly doesn't care and told me so. I wrote back telling her that not once have I ever had a decline payment and reminded her that I almost always pay with cash but she never responded. You might find a good deal there, although not the kind of deals she used to have but when so many items come to you broken or incorrectly described, are you really saving money? There are too many auction sites out there, don't waste your time or your money dealing with Amy VanZant, you will be sorry. I know of two other people who have been banned just because they didn't get along with Amy, it had nothing to do with the actual business. Stay away. read more

I made an online purchase from Van Zant and, unfortunately, the item arrived damaged beyond repair. I contacted the seller and Amie was as friendly and helpful as they come. My money was promptly refunded and I was even reimbursed for the service call to attempt to repair the damaged item. I make a LOT of online purchases and have never received such prompt and courteous customer service. I highly recommend Van Zant and will be sure to keep an eye on what they are selling in the future. Although I was not able to enjoy my purchase, I am still very pleased with the transaction and have confidence should I make another purchase from Amie in the future. read more

We have been using them for years, however, we just tried to pick up a product it was broken we asked for a return. The employee got frustrated with the return request and called Amy VanZandt the owner and told her we were being rude. Amy got on the phone and chewed my wife out for being rude. I'd like to add 0 stars if I could, the owner of this auction is greedy, and their business practices are very questionableat best, why does this place start at 2 dollars when it first opens, then she starts her bids at 3, now she starts all of her bids at 5 dollars, not including high priced items like machinery. This auction takes the worst pictures known to mankind, you can sometimes barely tell what your looking at, yet they're fine with charging more money and trying to make you not return an item for their screw up. On top of that, they have a buyers premium and sales tax which is close to 24 - 25% with the 5 dollar increments, there is no reason for the increase in prices when a lot of her stuff gets sold for more than an item is worth, plus, this owner is trying to implement a buy now feature which demands more money from people, if your going to ask for more money, atleast fix your picture quality. If you want an auction that has low prices, that takes good pictures and doesn't try to take as much money from you as possible, find another auction, and don't support these people. read more

I had a couple of instances with Van Zant recently with no problems. Two weeks ago I was bidding online and the auction software was not working correctly. Somehow, my one account ended up having 2 auction watch/bid lists. It was very confusing and I almost rebid an item because one list said I was outbid. It turned out the 2nd list showed I was winning that item. Obviously, something was wrong and I was not happy with the dual lists since I almost bid against myself. I sent Van Zant a couple of emails telling them of my experience and that I was not a happy camper. When I picked up my items that week, a lady processing my order did say they were having trouble with the computer. The next week I got a call from Amie's husband who left a very nasty voicemail. Rather than addressing the issue at hand, he was not only very rude, but threatening in his call. I ignored him and thought I could talk to Amie or him about the problem later and work things out. Today, I went to pickup my items and when I saw Amie I was trying to be nice asking her how she was doing. She completely lost it and started to beret me in front of an employee...never talking about why I left the emails but that the emails were the reason for her horrible week. The tone of her voice was unbelievably rude for a business owner. Week before I purchase over $200 in items and I was here to pickup this week's winning items over $260. I planned on continuing with purchasing in the future, but when she wouldn't let me speak and told me I could pay for the items or just leave never to bid again or come back, I told her to keep her stuff and left! I've been in business my whole life and if a customer is voicing a problem they are having with your company you don't go off the deep in and drive business away. You calmly discuss the issue and try to come to an understanding. By doing so, if you listen to the complaint you might learn something. If you fix the problem, your company is better for it. Amie didn't even care about what I was trying to say nor did she want to hear it. This woman and her husband cannot deal with any negatives and definitely don't know how to deal with the public. I suggest people reconsider when dealing with this company. Although they may be nice at first, if you say anything they construe as negative they will come down hard on you and drive you away. Personally, with attitudes these owner's have, I doubt they will be around this time next year. good-bye and good-riddance! read more

Bought a trampoline from here! Was new in box. Easy pickup. Was missing a part though and when I messaged about it not only did they find the parts for me but also went above and beyond in customer service! Highly recommend! Easy experience! first let me start off by saying some good things about this auction. The staff is friendly. The pick up process is pretty smooth and service was relatively quick. We did purchase a few Christmas decorative items that we were happy with. Now let's get on with the reason for my one star review. The items I received were not working, broken or missing parts. The first auction the pre-lit garland listed as new, didn't light up. We kept it as we didn't want the hassle of a $9 return. Next we purchased a 68" holiday nutcracker, listed as new and tested, got it home and discovered both arms and the electrical plug were missing. The next day I drove back to the auction hoping someone would find the missing parts. The staff did look for them to no avail. I was told to contact Amie for a refund. I did and she was very apologetic and did refund my money. I made my third trip out there to return the nutcracker and collect my refund. We purchased a lot containing 3 boxes of Christmas lights listed as new only 2 worked. Next we purchased a scooter as a gift to someone, went to put it together and the handle bars were missing. WTF. In that same auction we purchased a mini refrigerator listed as new and tested. Got it home and It doesn't get cold. I got a Christmas ornament and the fingers are broken. I contacted Amie again and explained she again was apologetic. She ultimately agreed to refund me for the missing handle bars but said she would not be able to refund me for the non-working refrigerator as her staff claimed it had been tested. Needless to say I am very disappointed. Nobody wants to spend their hard earned money on items that are missing parts, broken or not working. Nor do they want to make 3 trips to do a return. Last but not least there is a 16% fee added to your order as well as another 3% added if you are not paying with cash plus tax. It adds up. Due to the quality of the items I will not be returning as a customer. My advice. BUYER BEWARE. Inspect what you can while your there. unfortunately you cant Inspect anything until you pay and at that point if it's broken or not working you will have to get approval for a refund. Don't buy electronics or things that require power to be tested because if you do and find out it doesn't work and the staff says "item has been tested" your stuck with it. Understand these items were returned for a reason in the first place. Now they are being auctioned. read more

This auction company is the best. The bids are easy. What they auction of is new and if the box has been dented they tell you and they also test to make sure it works. The Customer service is one of the best that I have worked with. The employees the get you stuff are very polite and respectful. I have been making purchases through this auction house for the last month. I purchase 1-3 times a month. The deals you can get are really good. If there is ever an issue the owner has always been nothing but nice, friendly, and helpful. She worked with me just this last week i forgot to update my card on file and had no problems working with me to get it updated,and my items paid for. Anytime there has been an issue with one of my winnings they are always quick to fix it however necessary. I will continue to make my purchases as I have not been disappointed. I just got over $200 worrh of brand new tools for about $40 plus the 15% auction fees. My buddy got a brand new skill saw in the box for $9.00. I cannot believe I didn't hear about this place sooner. They don't ship anything and you have to pick your stuff up way out near Stead in some crappy warehouse that's kind of hard to find, but when you see how much stuff they have and how cheap they are selling it for, it's totally worth it. Amie is one of the rudest people I've ever met and I work in law enforcement! Initally the deals were worth putting up with that, but now people bid more than the products are actually worth in many instances. When I dared to question something I got the nastiest phone call from Amie. I've purchasing from them for a while and have had several instances where the items were not working, not as posted or not even there when I tried to pick them up after winning the auction. The gals who work for Amie are all super sweet and helpful. Amie however...I would seriosly like to smack in the forehead. read more

The prices are nice I've gotten a few kids things. You can get a great deal. BUT watch out for the guy Tim ( Amys husband) what a dreadful person. First of all the parking is atrocious and this lady parked outside the fence not blocking anyone. This guy jumped off a forklift and starting yelling at her, ran into the office & continued yelling at her. She was more polite then I would have been. Then the owner came out & allowed the guy to keep yelling at her for not parking in the lot. Buyer Beware! about 90% of this stuff is mostly defective returns from Walmart evidenced by the lot information posted but not disclosing the full extent of damage... You are better off saving the money and buying new or on sale that you would spend buying here and then the long drive out to Stead area to pick it up plus the auction fees of about 15% on top of the price you pay. This place has been removed from my recommended merchants in my private blog that goes out to ALOT of N Nevada consumers for financial savings after a bad personal experience with the owner when I asked to return an item that I saw firsthand blown over by the wind before I even had it loaded. I have also read all of the other horrible reviews and experienced that behavior firsthand. I was warned that I would be "banned' from bidding, but the truth is stronger than a bully and threats, and who really cares that a reseller wants to ban me. P.S. The online auction can be fun, and they have some great stuff and a lot of NOT so great stuff. A lot of the items are lightly used, very well used and/or damaged. They do have a some new items...but be careful. Even tho the items says it is new it may be damaged. You don't know if you are getting instruction booklets with electronics, kitchen items, garden items, etc. Nor are they very good at giving sizes. The item descriptions are very vague and generic. Brand names are rarely used. You have to rely on the pictures that are NOT always clear, sometimes the pictures are un-viewable due to lighting or being blurry. Sometimes they give a upc code you can cross reference on google, but a lot the times it in not useable. Other times it will be a "lot" of several different items but they don't always list all the items. They do list car parts (filters, seat cover etc) but you have to hope you can read the part/style number on the picture.....not always possible. The auction starts on Thursdays and ends on Sunday, however their auction software is extremely slow in loading. It usually takes till Saturday before you can see all the items. The bids are in $3.00 increments, then there is tax and 15% fee. So the bottom line is....after the additional charges and the items being used or damaged it's not worth the effort. This auction has a lot to learn. The workers there are outstanding. BUT do not cross Amie or even say anything that SHE might construe as negative. She has absolutely NO or at best very little customer service skills. She can be very rude and abrasive. She is very negative, loud and will not listen, you can not get a word in edgewise. She has no common sense and NO listening skills. She is only interested in MONEY. Since they don't care how they treat customers, I seriously doubt the business will last. That is fine with me....get out of town and don't let the door slam you in the rear, or maybe it should. I feel sorry for the workers there. This business is not in the best location. The "office" is a run down mess. It is a flithy place, probably has rats everywhere, the garbage is throw around outside and looks like a dump, and it smells. I'm sure the health department and more importantly the fire department would be interested in doing an inspection. Not sure I feel safe driving out there. The parking is awful, no public restroom (the place is way north on Virginia, near Lemmon Valley). The neighborhood is a ghetto. Miss Amie should remember these words of wisdom..... IF YOU DON'T HAVE SATISFIED CUSTOMERS......YOU DON'T HAVE A BUSINESS. This will be her spiral downfall. Spread the word....stay away from this place....and her attitude. I purchased some items at auction, it gives you an option to put your max price, I did so for several items. When the auction closed the items showed purchased for lower than the max bid amount. When I got my bill ALL of my purchases were now at the max bid amount and was a 100.00 dollars more than it showed when it closed. I immediately sent an email saying I had a concern about this. I got an email back saying bring your documents and proof and we can discuss it. Obviously I have no proof unless I took a screen shot which I didn't. So I go to pay for my items knowing I had no recourse, that is on me. Amie came in all angry and told me to follow her, I tried to talk to her politely, I tried to tell her l was just going to pay and be done, there was no reason to argue since I did not do a screen shot. She said she didn't like what I said in my email , I said what I said? she said yes you called me a liar and a thief. (No I didn't, I questioned what happened) I assumed it was a system error since it was the max bid on all times. Some weird pops came up I figured we would discuss it. and she got angry telling me to shut up and listen, since she took time out of her busy day and had this paperwork I was to stand there and go over this with her. She just kept telling me she was not gonna waist her time that I was going to listen since she was so busy and this was too much of her time to talk to me. When she said YOU ARE GOING TO STAND THERE AND LISTEN TO ME I TOOK TIME TO DO THIS AND I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO WASTE ON YOU OR THIS. my mouth literally fell open and I said no there is no reason to waist anymore time on me. I will pay for my items and leave now. She said you can close your account leave the stuff and we will resell it. I said ok great and left. Very frustrating!!!! so just be aware, take a screen shot there might be computer errors. there are issues in the past where the bidding has closed early so you miss your items and yes they say new and are not new parts and pieces are missing and sometimes things are broken when you get them.. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before doing business with Amie and Tim. I thought I had found a Jewel. I started buying from them in October, I started buying a bunch of stuff, just because it was a deal. On the first time I picked up, I asked what if something is not right? Just let us know, we will take care of you. Great! I have Purchase every week since that time. My spread sheet shows purchases in excess of 4k. 292 Items. I returned 4 Items, all were sold as NEW! One was a USED Refrigerator Water Filter that was clearly never inspected. The Second, a Night Stand that was damaged in the box, who knows if it was inspected. The third a Time Clock, that was not even the correct item in the box. The listing said it was Inspected, it wasn't even the correct model. The last a toy, that simply didn't work. In addition I rejected, at time of pick up 5 items. #1 Hedge Trimmer listed as complete, but had no Battery. #2 Comforter Set, that was Red and Blue in the photo, and Black and White on pick up. #3 Crib Mattress that was not a Crib Mattress, it was a Cradle Mattress a completely different size. #4 8pc Curtin Set that was only 7 and of two different sizes. #5 Area Rug that was sold as New and it may have been, but it had Black Dirt all over one end. Apparently that was the last straw with Amie. How dare I expect what I pay for, no matter the price. Below I will list my purchase history, you decide if I am a Jerk? Great way to get some household/camping/tools/etc at a discount price. I purchased a BBQ for about $60 that has worked out quite well so far. I recently purchased a basketball hoop for my kids. I got it for a good price and on the box it said it was inspected. Unfortunately it was missing two poles. I did call the auction house and they refunded my money right away which I thought was amazing. I was quite impressed with their customer service. They do charge 15% buyers premium so items that seem like deals aren't as much when you add that along with the taxes. Their warehouse is way out in Lemmon Valley and it's a bit of a mess.
