So I bought a used/refurbished camera online. When it arrived, it had no image card with it, so I couldn't even test the camera. I sheepishly went into Van's to see if they had a card to fit my old (new) camera. I almost didn't go in because I hadn't bought the camera there. The gentleman (owner) was really, really helpful. He had the card I needed, installed it, tested the camera, sold me the correct data cable, found an ultra torch light and gave me some advice. Oh, and he threw in a stand, too. I have so learned my lesson!! No more online no accountability purchases for me. I am a very impressed and thankful new customer. Paula Wilt read more

Keith Unbelievable and terrible business ethics in your part, you contacted us yesterday asking for the laser of the machine , we took your word and order it to Japan without payment , just on your word because you told us you were in a hurry, The payment was going to be first at 6:30 PM and then at 9:30 PM then the next day, then no payment.... After several messages , The first excuse is that we send you a payment request and not an invoice via PayPal and that was suspect of fraud?..seriously?... we have helped you in the past with parts with payments via PayPal. But then we provided with the office invoice as well as the Paypal invoice, and still silence on your part, we know now that by then you had already decided to screw us but you didn't have the balls or the professionalism to let us know immediately. Then after we called , the next excuse was that somebody was offering you six months warranty?, you could have asked us for the same warranty, but in reality, I don't think who you bought the laser from is going to be true to the warranty because it's very difficult to warranty a laser unit and not knowing the rest of the physical state of your old QSS32 furthermore the laser will most likely still come from us, I will be paying very close attention, they probably offer you six more warranty just to make the sale. I'm pretty sure of that. We were also considering purchasing the boards for your E6 machine, but at this point that is not gonna happen FYI , We are now one of the very few companies in the country that deal with old equipment , printers, scanners, film, processors, and everything related to photo finishing and actually have inventory in our warehouse and pretty soon will be the only one as two of the other companies are closing. DoNot contact us ever again, we only do business with professional , ethical people and corporations. read more

Friendly and knowledgeable employees. They actually develop film here - they don't just send it off to somebody else like most places these days. I've found their film developing service to be high quality and priced competitively. And you get your negatives back. read more

Service rep is not friendly nor helpful. Instead he wants to charge $25 just to answer a question.

Great quality prints. Very happy with everything from color to quality. Customer service reps are friendly and were nice to talk to and informative about anything I asked. read more

Very disappointed! I will never go there again, and will make sure to tell my friends not to go. The manager was very condescending and rude. My picture was returned for redo three times and still is not right. I sent two pictures showing the color of my dress which was cream. The most recent redo came back with a pink. We have been married 50 years and are having a party on Saturday and I am embarrassed to show the picture never again will I come in that store! we paid over $150 for 35 by sevens and one 8 x 10 that I can't even use what a waste! read more

We initially had a pharmacy store make copies from our photos. The copies were horrible, and someone spilled a liquid substance on one of our original photos. Terrible work. Van's made a copy of a photo that was over 45 years old, and the copy looks better than the original. Wow! Some reviewers commented that Van's prices are inflated. I suggest that those reviewers head over the nearest pharmacy to have their photo needs half a**ed accomplished. Your photos may look like crap, but you'll save some pennies. We have been there and done that nonsense. We want our photo work done the right way, no matter what the cost. read more

Was hoping to boost small business rather than a big box store. First their prices were inflated and they wanted to give me next to nothing for my trade - with the trade camera was still more expensive than big box store. Better off selling used camera on eBay, let go or Craigslist. Very disappointed since I hate buying from big box corporate stores. To add insult to injury, they acted like they were doing me a favor. Got $300 on eBay for what they offered $100 for. read more

I am a conceptual photographer, so I have a lot of art shows that I do and I can always trust that this place will have my photos done on time and looking VERY SHARP and vibrant. I get the lustre finish, which I would recommend, since it makes the photo look AMAZING. Other places I have been to get my photos printed off... the colors turned dull but this place has QUALITY prints that don't add any dullness to the colors! Anyways, the staff is also amazing, since they are always willing to help out if you have any questions! 100% recommend this place to any photographer. fondly, @gabsfash_photography read more

gave a high quote for a service that wasn't even needed, we we're able to do so ourselves.

I have given Van's a number of chances, in my opinion. I typically order from a professional printer online (and guess what, it's cheaper! WAY cheaper, even with shipping.) They always seem to be a little pushy, not too clear about what to do for prints, and so slow to get die cuts. The female is almost rude, although never outright, she never smiles. The die cuts from last time took about a week when that night they had told me by the next day at 2pm. So, I made two trips the die cuts were smaller wallet sizes than what I normally order, were on flimsy paper, and were dull and off color. They also don't provide wallet boxes, but my online service does for free. I ordered again online, and the images were spot on, so their printer must have been off. I also printed my full order for about 1/4th the cost, at a higher quality, and two day delivery packages, boxed, and gift wrapped. Great for every-day consumers, but you'll blow a lot of cash that is unnecessary, it takes a long time, and it's just not up to my standards. Only one employee (male) that I would recommend, because he was kind and knowledgeable. Not pushy at all. I would only recommend Van's for equipment, but in the future I will be driving to Ritz in Akron or ordering online, which I prefer. read more

My nice digital camera broke. Bad news. I didn't know of any other places to take it...off to Van's I go. Middle of Belden..small but busy inside. Nice staff helps me, but informs me I need to pay about 25 bucks upfront just to LOOK at my camera (p.s. it would NOT be applied to the repair either!)...wait time= 4 days to a week. Boo. Called on a Sunday to inform me it would be big bucks to repair. Too bad ..I might as well buy a new camera for the price. Pick up: I was surprised to see they were not pushy to buy a new camera from them when I went in.....which was nice. Although IIIII had to be the one to be proactive about buying anything and ask questions. Kinda odd. After looking at several stores, the camera I wanted had the best price at THIS store. Nice. I felt good buying my camera from a family owned place. Some extras (like a digital photo class for two!) was a free bonus to my purchase. That was nice. Van's seems to be a well respected retail//repair/photo-developing shop. I look forward to working with them in the future! read more

Van's Camera courteously provides photo printing and disc I am able to walk in the front door and I'm in! I don't have to walk "miles" to get what I need/want. Always prompt, always assisting and have often overheard other customers being served with care. Thank You for being there!!! read more

I want to thank Keith and the staff of Van's for the excellent work they did in transferring video tapes to DVD!!! I had very sentimental memories on these and they were able to retrieve these even on damaged tapes. Highly recommend them for these services!!! Thanks for a great job!! read more

Great products, the people are so helpful in setting up cameras and tips on what equipment will be most helpful for you. I could get it off amazon, but I wouldn't get the expert help I get through these guys. Seriously recommend going in and seeing these guys before buying anything. read more

I went into Van's in a panic because some pictures I developed at Drug Mart didn't come out too well. The desk staff was very helpful in helping me diagnose the problem. They even offered to print a few of my pictures for free to see if they could develop them at a higher res. Going here made me appreciate a full-service business transaction. It was quite refreshing when you think about how many things you do that are self serve! read more

spent hundreds on a frame and photo - the frame wasn't even lined up correctly.

I have been utilizing Van's Camera for the past 3 years and I must say they are by far the best company to purchase equipment from. The amazing staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to equipment and products and have directed in the proper direction for the growth of my business. The final printed product is astonishing as well. read more

I wanted to thank Keith and photographers Sarah and Nick for their excellent job covering my son's football tournament at the Hall of Fame in Canton. Van's had the best pricing and in the end excellent service. I had some anxiety booking their services from 500 miles away, but everything went down without a hitch. Would highly reccomend! read more

I needed a camera for my parents-they are in their 70s and not what you call technically savvy. Don was great, he gave me three options and then signed my folks up for a free basic photo class they offered at the store. And the price was actually a couple of buck less than Best Buy. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. Will NEVER do business with this place. Was trying to support a local business but refuse to do that with Vans. I'm surprised they haven't gone out yet. I will order online or find another store. read more

I went in just to get a battery for my camera. I ask did he have a test one so we could see if the battery was the only issues with it. He stated for 25 dollars we could do that, now he doesn't have the sale of the battery that cost 49.50. Their lost of money and a customer. read more

If I could leave 0/5 stars I would. Owner (I assume) was very rude, condescending and is stuck in the "50s" way of doing business. He mentioned that about 15x during our conversation on why he wouldn't return my $17 item that didn't work for what I needed. No returns, which the sales people do not tell you at time of purchase. But don't worry, the owner will make sure in his cocky way of saying "it's posted in 13 different places in the store". I will never go back to this store based on the attitude and service I was provided with. I've never heard of a location not allowing returns on such a simple item. I could understand a lens or a camera body. There are far better camera stores within 25 minutes of canton that I would much prefer to give my business to. And to think I was in the market for a brand new DSLR. Do yourself a favor and steer clear! read more

I brought my Sony A77 to Van's to have a dusty sensor cleaned. The boss said that because it is a translucent mirror camera, it had to be shipped out for a complete tear down, just to have the sensor blown off. After showing him the mirror release that Sony built into the camera for this exact purpose, he still insisted I pay $26 for an estimate to have the camera shipped out and torn down... I drove 45 minutes north to a camera shop in Kent and they cleaned my sensor in 5 minutes and charged less than Van's wanted for an estimate... What kind of "camera" shop can't clean the sensors on the cameras they specialize in selling?? Save the frustration and go elsewhere. read more

Rude service, rude people. Gave them a second chance and same experience. Will never go back, they don't have anything special that someone else can't do. read more

I've seen several negative reviews about rude treatment and usually I attribute these to people wanting something for free or being difficult customers and being unhappy when the business owner wouldn't "bow to their demands" but I have to say I was treated quite rudely and never even entered their shop! I was having issues with my camera and called in and before I could finish my sentence I was interrupted and told I was wasting my time describing my problem and to drop my camera off and someone would take a look at it and get back with me in a few days. After that, I called another shop who gladly listened and gave me a few things to try, had me go to their shop and we decided it did need to go out for service but I absolutely felt treated with respect. Afterwards, I thought I would give Van's one more try - I called to see if he might have my camera in stock as I needed one for the weekend - he said - "nope, those are dead" and hung up. No offer of anything else. So I can't really judge quality of work as I never made it past the rudeness to give him the opportunity to provide service. read more
