What a lovely facility Akrona Galleries is! What looks like a glorious big old house from the outside hosts an interesting collection of art mediums on the inside, including bronze sculptures and handmade jewelry.
I went to Akrona for the first time last Friday with the intention of viewing my friend, Joanna's, artwork that was featured in the 'Colors of Spring' exhibit (showcasing local artists living with Multiple Sclerosis). Reading the bios for each artist was both touching and inspiring. I am impressed that a well-known gallery, a fixture in the community for over 20 years, would choose to display art of this kind.
My favorite pieces from this particular day were by Todd White, Thomas Arvid, Natalya Romanovsky and the artist who created the incredible realism portraits. Art is alive and well in Akron! read more
