Vans is a pizzeria, sports bar and arcade that opened in Danbury, Connecticut in October 2024. It was founded as a joint venture between Diamond Hospitality Group and Village Social Restaurant Group. The focus of Vans' menu is their signature bar-style pizzas. In addition to the pies, the menu also offers smash burgers, sandwiches, wings, salads, and other classic pub fare. The bar area features numerous flat-screen TVs for sports game viewing as well as a selection of draught & bottled beer, wine, craft cocktails, and fountain beverages. At 2,000-square-feet, Vans offers a large variety of arcade games (both classic and modern) and even an area to redeem tickets for prizes. At Vans, the goal is to provide a fun and casual dining experience that complements the vibrant atmosphere, making it a perfect destination for both foodies and sports enthusiasts I recently visited Vans for dinner with my two sons while we were passing through Danbury. We were all excited for the combo of bar-style pizza with arcade games. Upon arriving, we asked to be seated at a booth. There are plenty of seating options inside as well as an outdoor seating area with deck chairs and fire pits. My older son and I ordered and shared the "Margherita" (fresh melted mozzarella and basil) and a "Pepperoni Pizza", while my younger son had the "Chicken Tenders" (w/ Fries). The pizzas are 11" personal sized-pies and very thin with a nice crunch. These are pretty typical for bar-style pizzas, and they were quite tasty too. To drink, I had a draught pour of New England Brewing's "Sea Hag IPA". After finishing up our meal, we all headed to the arcade area. Vans has an extensive selection of both retro arcade cabinets as well as modern arcade attractions. Both of my sons prefer arcade racing games, and Vans had plenty of those; "Mario Kart" is a personal favorite. We ended up staying for almost two hours and we all had a blast! My first time trying Vans via Doordash was November 7th. When I originally reviewed Vans our food came cold. Vans reached out to Doordash not wanting their food quality to be in question to find out what happened. As they should advocate for what is right. Doordash told me they waited for my food. But Vans found out that several drivers with Doordash where assigned to my order before someone came to pick it up. This was the reason my food originally arrived cold. My food arriving cold was No Fault of Vans. My order was soft baked pretzel sticks with a dipping sauce and two pizzas that were personal size possibly a little bigger. Both pizza's were traditional crusts - one meatball and onion. One a Bianca pizza. My favorite part of the meal was those pretzel sticks. Good size more towards big, just enough salt, nice and soft on the inside. My husband is a lifelong New Haven pizza eater and he did like the thin crusts on these pizzas. However, we are going to try again at the restaurant with the pizza. As You see in so many of my reviews over the years. I always give a restaurant a second try at their establishment as takeout is a hard thing to get spot on. **Give Vans a try at their restaurant and play some video games. We had a reservation since we were a bigger party. But due to an accident on 84, 3 in our group we're running late. 6 of us were there. we couldn't be seated until all there, even though there were many empty tables. So we had a drink at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. She was very kind to my parents. When the rest of our party arrived we were seated promptly. We ordered some apps and entrees. after a while we asked where our apps were. They went to get them. They weren't hot, they were mildly warm. We just wanted to eat, as everyone was hungry, so we did. The mozz sticks were good, pretzel was a standard pre frozen pretzel, nachos were meh and the guacamole too. Two people ordered pizza. The kid liked it, the adult didn't. 3 of us had smash burgers and they were delicious! Kids mac and cheese was okay, and a garden salad with chicken, he said was "fine". Anyway everyone there was very nice, food comes out on the slower side, but because of the arcade, the kids were entertained. we would definitely go back for burgers, but not the pizza read more

This place is so cool! Loving the hockey memorabilia every where! Came in, grabbed a drink, and I like you can bring your drink into the arcades! Our bartender was Miguel, who was so friendly and made great suggestions when it came to the beer selection. While seated at the bar, we were greeted by the assistant manager, Tyler, and we chatted for a bit! Super awesome guy! Definitely a very welcoming place! Came here on a whim last Sunday with my husband and 3 year old because we had a coupon and figured why not. It was snowing out so we were the only people there for a late lunch. The server (Tyler maybe?) was AMAZING!! He was so sweet to my daughter and made us feel super welcomed - which you don't always get at restaurants with kids lol they had a promo where we all got $10 game cards which was a nice bonus. Menu was small, but had the staple items you would want from a place like this. We got a cheese pizza, Caesar salad, chicken fingers/fries, and chicken sandwich. My daughter loved the games in the larger room, my husband and I loved the smaller room with the classics. We didn't have enough points to get any prizes, but our server gave my daughter a small prize anyway which made her day. We LOVE Vans!! We go for dinner and games often but also had our sons 5th birthday there. It was a HIT! The staff was incredible and very helpful in putting together a last minute party. The party room was included and the costs I paid were for a staff member to take care of the party, food and game cards for the kids. The seating options vary (bar, booth, tall table, regular table) and all are comfortable and food has always been great- pizza, wings, burger, pasta.. we haven't had a thing we don't like. read more

Awesome place!!! First time here. We found it because we bought tickets to go see the Danbury Hat Tricks. Owned by same people so they have a promotion. Make sure you have your ticket in hand or on your phone and you will get a $3.00 bar pizza. What a deal. They have a small little arcade for some retro games off of the bar area and on other side of the restaurant they have a whole play area with games and prizes for kids. Very family friendly. Service was very friendly, attentive and he even gave us game cards to play a couple of games. These are also the same ones they use at the arena so make sure to keep them and you can reload them to play games at the arena. The pizza was so good. Thin crust but not super crunchy, which I prefer. I ordered the pepperoni with hot honey. The hot honey came on the side which I have to say was great because it allowed my boyfriend to share my pizza since he didn't want the honey. He had the meatball pizza. It was amazing. The meatballs had so much flavor. Great experience. Will definitely be back. Want to try so many things on the menu. read more

WOW!!! What a find, if we weren't staying at the LaQuinta we would have missed out on this delicious and unique treat. It's located on the LaQuinta property so it's easy to pass it by. Our first night we were so hungry from our travels we started with their wings with their citrus BBQ sauce . . . excellent combination. Then we moved on to the pizza. My wife had their Fig to Farm with gluten free crust pizza which was a little too different for me. I had the Margherita. She loved the Fig to Farm and I enjoyed the Margherita. She raved about hers so I tried a bite and proceeded to kick myself in the butt for not being adventurous. There was enough to take some back to the room which we heated up in the microwave the next day for lunch. The pizza held up very well and was delicious. We went back a couple of days later, we had to have the Fig to Farm pizza one last time. We didn't start off with wings this time making sure we had enough too to finish each of our pies. I'm Sicilian, I made pizzas when they cost $1.15 for a large pies and have had more than my fill throughout my years. The Fig to Farm pizza is one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Be adventurous and try one, you won't regret it. The service is excellent. Tiffany our server was attentive and went back to the kitchen to get any answers to our questions. read more

Party of 6. Service was super slow. Took almost an hour to get our appetizers. 2 orders of wings, a pretzel, and chili. Only was checked up on once during our wait for the appetizers. Pretzel arrived with one sauce and an empty container. Asked for more wing sauces and did not get them after 30 minutes. No check up for drink refills or anything. We also were never asked what we would like for our entree order. I would have thought for a restaurant that just opened the service would be better but even on a non busy night the service was horrible. read more

Food was alright service was horrible ordered a Jalapeño pepperoni pizza with hot honey and fried pickles,the pizza took about 40 minutes to come out and they forgot about my fried pickles so I waited about an 20 mins which was in total about an hour wait for an app and the fried pickles were as hard as a rock. I was still hungry since the food wasn't meeting my expectations ordered a smash burger waited 20 minutes nothing asked the waiter if they ever put the order in they said it wasn't o requested a smash burger 4 times and waited 40 minutes just to find out no one ever put the order in for me and I'm literally sitting at the bar.. While staying at the La Quinta Inn which houses this restaurant, I decided to try it out. I had the bar pizza with pepperoni. The food was good, the service prompt and friendly. They lose 2 stars on the food for a lack of toppings - very scarcely topped. You should be able to get some toppings in every bite, which was far from the case - and I have a big mouth. Also, you should be able to order on the website without having to use Door Dash or Slice if picking up your order. I did not see that option (but you can order for pick up through the phone app, which is what I did and what I hate doing). That brings the overall score down to a 3 star. BTW - if my pizza had looked like the one pictured in Amanda S. from Newfield, CT's review, I would have been happy. Mine had maybe half that amount of toppings. read more

Great time. A couple unique features on the menu make this place stand out from your average pizza place. It is kid heaven with an informal atmosphere and tons of high quality arcade games. They even have a tickets and prizes booth. They have some house cocktails; the one I had was very well done. Fries were probably the winner at the table, extra skinny and extra crispy.
