First time here and I had high hopes from previewing the menu. The place is very cute with indoor and outdoor seating! And all the staff was friendly. I attended a "closed event" in the back bar so we had a fixed menu. It was a Thursday evening before the dinner rush so there weren't many people in the building. Service was very very slow. We got there at 5 and didn't get served an appetizer until 6:15. There wasn't bread offered either. Not sure if this was purposeful as a cocktail hour? But even the cocktails came out very very slowly. I enjoyed the salad and crab cakes as I shared with a friend. But my meat pasta needed way more sauce and flavor. It was dry and pretty tasteless. I also found a long piece of plastic from a bag in it :( I didn't want to bring a lot of attention to that as I was with many people I didn't know but that was really unfortunate. Lastly the dessert came after 7 and at that point I wanted to leave but stayed to try it. It was just okay. Could have used a chocolate drizzle or made the waffle warm with a sugar coating. It was just a bit boring. I also need to add that my friend ordered a sangria and it was $16!!!! And the bartender said she made it on the fly as they didn't have any. How on earth could you justify that price?? Maybe this was just an off night! But I don't feel compelled I go back after that experience.

Food price / quality (value) rating 8.5. The atmosphere is "Colonial Roadside Tavern". I've been coming to this location for 45 years, and through a few owners. They have a pub / Continental cuisine menu including appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and some higher end entrees, There are eight draught beers offered and many other cans and bottles. Thursdays is free beer with any sandwich, and 12 wings for the price of six which is $10, Wednesday is wine night any bottle of wine half price. Live acoustical entertainment most Friday nights and sometime Saturday nights. They offer brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4:00 p.m. which includes a Bloody Mary bar where you make your own bottomless Bloody Marys, and bottomless Mimosas. Our server Nick was very attentive and knowledgeable, and understood what is important in the service industry. They also have two very nice outdoor seating areas, two full bars, a large dining room and a large bar area. They specialize in catering events such as weddings, graduation parties, and other large events. The prices are very reasonable, and the service has always been good here.

Loved getting to look at a place my ancestors had visited. Beautiful property. Breakfast was small but nice: small quiche, small selection of pastries, coffee/ tea, some cheeses. The house was warm and she had most of the windows open to "get fresh air in." It turns out the air conditioning can't keep up but never mind that. We were there for my brother's wedding being held right next door. At 4:30pm we were literally sitting in the front row waiting for wedding to start - we are talking at any second, not minute, any second it was to start - I see my brother motion to me to come to him. He then tells me that we were being kicked out of the precious Fountain Inn because we had a 3-year-old. Not knowing when I paid for the overpriced $482 room that they didn't allow kids under 12 is certainly on me. However, Morgan should have said something immediately and not waited 3 1/2 hours and wait for moment the wedding was about to start to throw us all to the street (my 85-year-old was with us to boot). Morgan claims there was a complaint, however there was just one other couple staying there and they left for lunch as we were coming in. Within an hour, most of the wedding party was in the self-important Fountain Inn, and you can't tell me there was some mystery complaint over a 3-year-old when 12 to 15 people were getting ready for a wedding. I'm sorry, but Morgan is a liar. The wedding wound up being delayed because Morgan chooses that time to throw us all out on the street. We had to gather our things and move to another place. To enhance Morgan's rude and grossly ill-timed eviction, she had to send me a "As per our conversation" text message - again right as the wedding trying to start. The Fountain Inn is run by completely unprofessional staff and grossly overpriced for antiquated accommodation. There are too many far better options in the area to stay here.

The farm is also available to book for events such as weddings and baby showers. My family and I recently visited Castle Hill Farm to see their Sunflower Stroll. First we stopped off in their farm stand which was filled with all sorts of fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, corn, peppers, squash, cucumbers, and even local honey. We decided to purchase some delicious looking Graffiti Eggplant as well as a handmade candle that had an intoxicating vanilla aroma. Afterwards we headed into the Sunflower Stroll. When we arrived we were told it would be just a few minutes as we were early. No problem! We had no agenda so that was completely fine. However, our reservation was at 1pm and we did not get seated until 1:30pm. It would not have been as bad if one of the staff simply came out to say sorry we will get you seated as soon as we can. There was literally no contact with anyone. We kept poking our heads around to make sure they knew we were there. The worst part was there were numerous open tables. I would've been fine had they sat us as given us some water vs. just waiting in the waiting room Once we were seated, our waitress was as pleasant as anyone could be. Very very kind. We ordered the winter tea service and started out with the tea sandwiches. They were very tasty as was the tea. Because we were so hungry we finished everything before the scones arrived. Once they arrived, they nice and warm which was a nice touch. However, the inside was still raw and doughy. I picked around it as best I could. The pianist was a nice addition. The photos and menu looked great - I had no idea they only opened a couple months ago, until our server mentioned it. You wouldn't guess it, based on the attention to detail and how smoothly everything runs. It's a lovely space. They take your coats, give you purse hooks, and have a piano player jazzing up the ambiance with mellow yet uplifting tunes. The table was set perfectly with china and all the accessories you need with tea. There is a fancy/classy, yet casual, vibe. We were excited to find out we could both pick our own teas and that we didn't have to agree on one tea service (for food). The scones and treats were the same on all, but the sandwich selection varied on the three different afternoon tea menus. I opted for the "classic", which came with coronation chicken salad, ham/cheddar/mango chutney, cucumber, smoked salmon, and egg salad sandwiches. My husband got the "teas around the world" which came with Brie/apple/honey, ham/gruyere/dijon, olive tapenade/sundried tomato, chickpea/tzatziki, and a spiced chicken sandwich. All were excellent!! And when we finished, they even offered us more if we wanted them. The teas were great! We were allowed to pick our own teas (didn't have to share) from a broad menu of teas. The owner buys direct in London to get some of the finest teas that are not available locally. I am caffeine free so opted for Marian Wright Edelman's Guardian's Grace, a fruity herbal tea that was relaxation in a teacup for me. My husband first tried the Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Strength Blend, and the also had Mary McLeod Bethune's Essence of Uplift. They were all different, but all very tasty, and perfectly brewed. It also wasn't lost on me that the teas were named after amazingly strong women throughout history, and that we were enjoying them at a woman owned business, on International Women's Day! The scones were delivered fresh out of the oven with your choice of clotted cream, jam, or lemon curd (YES to all, please!) or also butter. The pastries I believe are a rotating selection, but all were tasty bites. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, welcoming, and hospitable. It's a nice easy pace, with two hours reserved for your experience. It was a wonderful escape from reality! I really appreciate Laurie, Donjae, and Ingrid for creating the perfect experience for us today. 10/10 highly recommend. Call ahead for reservations!

Feeling responsible to the participants, I led the tour in sunny places, where we found plenty of plants, despite Currier's arbitrary and wrong-headed objections. Nevertheless, Currier hired me and my daughter to lead a mushroom weekend in 2017. She signed a contract, including a statement that if she canceled the event, we'd be paid in full. Then, when it was way too late for me to schedule other events, she pulled the rug out for under me, canceled our event, and hired someone else to do the mushroom weekend, despite the signed contract, causing us to lose a much-needed weekend of work. When I tried to contact her dad, Tim Currier, the owner, with whom I'd been acquainted since 2008, he showed his true colors and ghosted me. My two-year-old son and I have visited this location dozens of times over the past year without a single issue. On this visit, we also happened to be the only Black family present. What happened afterward was shocking, unprofessional, and felt unmistakably discriminatory. Later that day, I received a call from someone identifying herself as the owner/manager. She claimed that it had been "reported" that my recently turned two-year-old son had: * "Shaken" a one-year-old girl * Then supposedly been "violent" toward multiple children * And later--somehow--"choked" the same child These accusations all came in a single phone call and kept changing as she spoke. Not one version was consistent with the last, and none of them matched anything that occurred during our visit. When I calmly asked her to check security footage, she said she would but immediately followed it with, "The video may not have caught anything," despite openly admitting she hadn't reviewed it. To this day, I have received zero follow-up or confirmation that any video was checked at all. I later spoke with the front-desk employee who was there during our visit. He confirmed that: * No parent voiced any complaint about my son * He personally witnessed nothing concerning * The owner/manager was not even present at the time This brings up extremely concerning questions: * How did the owner know to single out my child when no complaint was made? * Why was I immediately presumed guilty with no evidence? * Why did the supposed reporting parents never speak to me directly, which is standard in children's play spaces? * Why did the claims escalate from shaking, to multiple children, to choking--a sequence that simply does not align with a newly two-year-old's behavior or my son's history? My son has never harmed another child, and our long history at this business reflects that.
