I've been to Vanity Nails twice now and I really like it. They're fast and do a great job. I also feel like they're pretty reasonably priced. $20 for a spa pedicure and $30 for a shellac manicure (with color). I'm wondering if that's a little high for shellac, but I feel like it's a little low for a pedicure, so maybe it evens out...? If you just get a regular manicure (with color), it's only $10. So, you could get a full mani-pedi for only $30. Pretty good. The shop is pretty basic, but clean and the technicians will offer you water, wine, etc. They have a good selection of nail colors and lots of natural light from the windows that line the front of the shop. The technicians are pretty friendly. I've always made an appointment, but they say walk-ins are welcome. If the smell of the fake nail stuff bothers you, I would recommend having your nails done early in the morning because the longer the shop is open the more that horrendous smell is present. read more

Two stars and it's a solid no for me, dawg. Solid no.......here's why: 1) When you enter the shop you aren't greeted with a "hi", rather an eye roll before someone asks you what service you would like. Ok, just going to let that go. 2) Everyone here looks rather upset or unhappy. Now I suffer from ARF (angry resting face) and it is hereditary on the female side of my family only. When I interact with the public as a nurse or when I style hair, I try to wear a smile so people feel comfortable. So I understand that nobody can help that but everybody is unhappy? Yikes! 3) I had my eyebrows waxed and there are bumps along the brow. (My brows DO look really good.....minus the bumps) 4) Got a mani/pedi, the mani looks good. The pedi looks good as well. However, when the nail tech was doing my pedicure she was scrubbing my feet with a small brush very vigorously to the point where I had to jerk my foot away ! Ouch!! I always wash my feet well and make sure my legs are well shaved before I get a pedicure because I'm vain like that. I am now missing the epidermis to my entire left leg (not, really but my leg still hurts 5 hours later). After I experienced that she was going to scrub my right leg with that same brush. Um, no...... 5) Please display prices where customers can see them. It's really shows a lack of refinement to not have it available. To have a customer question the price of everything makes one feel uncomfortable. I'm obviously not going to be returning. I would not recommend this place. Obviously, nail shops are lucky in the sense that if it's six o' clock in the afternoon and you need to get your nails done so you can judge if your husband/boyfriend loves you enough to notice that you have changed your nail color ( he does love you, but he could care less about your nail color) your going to go to the nail shop that is most convenient if you are not near your regular shop. The staff talks about everyone that walks in. I'm Vietnamese and I'm fluent in the language. They assumed I wasnt vietnamese and proceeded to talk about me. My technician talked about how big my feet and toes were. She said it's going to take a long time to paint them and they laughed. I sat there in silence as I listened to them talk about how big people were and how some of them are crazy. This is so unprofessional and I felt angry for all the clients there. Today was my first visit to Vanity Nails. I walked in and asked for a regular manicure, no polish or shellac. I recently popped off all my outgrown acrylics and just wanted a fresh manicure. Nobody seemed like they wanted to assist me. Reluctantly, an older woman stepped up to help me and it started fine but then after she was about a third of the way through, she started talking alot to the other employees and then got up and had another employee finish my manicure. The other employee finished my manicure and the end result was okay. But, $18 for a simple manicure with no polish/shellac seemed a bit pricey to me. I'm a Flight Attendant and super picky about my nails since I am handing people drinks all day. I found this place years ago after a tour through subpar salons in the Clear Lake area. Donna usually does my nails, but Helen did them today and they look great. Lisa and Michelle also do a good job. I like the old school square look, but they do the coffin shape, dip, shellac... all of that stuff. I don't drink, but they will give you wine while you're there. Love this place. They always fit me in right away when I forget to make a appointment. They are very clean with their foot tubs and instruments. That was why I left the last salon because they didn't clean the instruments well and they never seemed to be able to take a walk-in. I've never been to a salon and asked for the name of the person who helped me until I came here yesterday. I walked in and was immediately helped. They sat me and my friend next to each other. I like this place because there are several techs to assist and they are extremely attentive and kind! They perform awesome service and the amenities are all operable, relaxing chairs, very reasonable prices (5% discount if you pay in cash)this place is clean and they clean their systems after usage thoroughly. They are open daily which is also a plus and they accept appointments even at closing time, and if no one is busy and someone walks in at closing time they won't turn them away. Came in for a color change in toes & wanted to try French tip on my natural nails (walked in with acrylic white tip). Mind you there was NO ONE in the salon when I walked in, then 3 people came in behind me so more techs came out. Still not busy enough to be in a rush. Color change was fine & told the tech who was treating me a total of 4 times that I wanted MY EXISTING acrylic nails off to try French tip on my natural nails. Even showed her how long my nails had grown & she said they were long enough to look good. Anyone else looked up on Pinterest how to take off acrylic at home & the pain that comes with it? Also how it mentions that the "rip off" technique is uncomfortable & NOT healthy for your nail beds. Well, this tech did exactly that. Ripped off each nail one by one. When I told her I was in pain she laughed. Also mentioned no one had ever taken off my acrylic that way & next time I came in I would NOT be ok with taking acrylic off the way she was & she laughed again and said OK. After she was done she continued to clip my natural nail completely to my skin & proceeded to place acrylic French manicure. This is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what I asked for. After this happened she kept making small mistakes, even messed up one of my completed nails due to her tool speed being too fast. Instead of redoing the entire nail (as I have experienced before) she took a short cut AGAIN & did it the fast way. Not to mention all of my nails were sore & burning as she placed all products due to her ripping off my previous nails. VANITY NAILS-Please make sure your techs are aware that quality is much more important that time. No need to rush through every darn thing if you're not busy. & if your techs are too busy to complete a service then I would have rather been notified & sat with someone that was serious about their work and customer care. I tried out this salon for the first time today and I was completely blown away by their service. Not only are they extremely sanitary, but they also make sure that their costumer is content with their nails. Although I kept it simple, my friend showed them a picture of pink ombré nails off of Pinterest and they were able to not only recreate that for her but also do it 100% justice. I made an appointment with Vanity Nails a week in advance, Michelle helped me and she was very nice. I walked in and was told to pick my colors, was offered a drink and escorted to my pedi chair. I do not know the name of my technician, she didn't tell me and had no name tag. If it was a massage chair, I had no idea because she didn't turn it on for me or offer the remote. The pedicure was mediocre, I informed her I tend to get ingrown toenails, please be careful and not too short. She proceeded to dig and dig on my cuticles. I had to literally BEG her to stop. She called another lady over to look at my toe (while speaking another language) and she asked me if I get ingrown nails?!? She also made me bleed while trying to cover it with her finger. The manicure was better, it looks really good and I am satisfied with it. Clients are offered a discount to pay cash. Prices are comparable to competing spas. $30 for shellac mani, $23 for spa pedi. This place is definitely nothing special. This is the second time I have been here...and I will not return. I had the displeasure of having my nails done by Donna. The lengths of the nails are different from hand to hand, one thumb nail was completely crooked, and they are super thick. I asked her to even out the thumb nail, and she did. Then came the paint job. I had already paid and tipped so I would not mess my nails up after the polish. She did a horrible job. The color was uneven, gloppy, and all over my fingers. Very politely, I asked her to smooth one nail out and remove the polish from my skin. She said I was being picky. There is pink polish all around 5 of my nails...and I am being picky. Fine. I will take my "pickiness" and my 25% tip and go elsewhere. Beware to all. There are much better salons out there. read more

I've moved from basic manicures to solar nails and have now began getting pedicures even! They always greet me as I come in and am always treated great. Which, when you're pampering yourself is very important. They get new products in regularly so you're not stuck with picking the same old things. They've even updated the entire shop within the last year! They have a lot of repeat business (you can tell since they greet these customers by name).
