It was such a terrible experience. It was my first time getting my nails done. I asked for just gel, they charged me for a different more expensive service and didn't tell me the price, it was only shown on the bottom of the receipt. They used the wrong color and ignored me and my friend when we asked why it looked so different three or four times. The gel itself looks bad both in color and quality. It was terrible. This is the most unhappy I have ever been with getting my nails done! Both my sister and I went Friday night and my nail tech first did not know what matte nails were and secondly I had to have one of my nails redone 3 times because it was put on so crooked I could not even close my hand. The nail was sitting almost sideways on my Finger and when they fixed it they just layer a new nail on top of the cut down fake nail. My nails were suppose to be coffin shape, I kept asking her to make them thinner and more shapely and finally gave up after I realized she could not achieve the look I was going for. this is the worst manicure experience I have ever had. It seemed the lady doing my nails had absolutley no experience doing a simple dip manicure. she was sloppy and did over 6 coats on each nail. Additionally, the shaping was outrageous and totally uneven. I am embarrassed to be seen with these nails. I was shocked I was able to make it out the door before crying. The price was also ridiculous and I could tell they were talking about me after speaking up for myself, which already takes a lot of courage. 3/5 for quality and 4/5 for ambiance... This place is nice on the inside. Prices are competitive. But I've gone twice and the quality of the pedis are just mediocre. I've gotten the hot stone and the deluxe spa with hot stones. Both times my feet still had significant dead skin. Also, the foot massage was very skimpy. And if someone could answer this question for me, I would appreciate it: why is it that if you go to a nail salon and there are 25 open pedicure chairs and only one other person getting a pedi, they will seat you RIGHT next to the only other person as opposed to allowing you and that other person to have a little bit of personal space? This is so odd and annoying to me. And yes this is pretty much what happened when I went. I was seated in between two other women when there were like 8 other open chairs. I had to climb over shoes and purses just to get into my seat. The only reason I can think of is for it to be easier for the technicians to communicate with each other through the pedi. Still annoying. So yea, needless to say, I'm still on the hunt for an awesome high quality pedi in the area. I've been to Vanity Nails twice now and I really like it. They're fast and do a great job. I also feel like they're pretty reasonably priced. $20 for a spa pedicure and $30 for a shellac manicure (with color). I'm wondering if that's a little high for shellac, but I feel like it's a little low for a pedicure, so maybe it evens out...? If you just get a regular manicure (with color), it's only $10. So, you could get a full mani-pedi for only $30. Pretty good. The shop is pretty basic, but clean and the technicians will offer you water, wine, etc. They have a good selection of nail colors and lots of natural light from the windows that line the front of the shop. The technicians are pretty friendly. I've always made an appointment, but they say walk-ins are welcome. If the smell of the fake nail stuff bothers you, I would recommend having your nails done early in the morning because the longer the shop is open the more that horrendous smell is present. read more

Two stars and it's a solid no for me, dawg. Solid no.......here's why: 1) When you enter the shop you aren't greeted with a "hi", rather an eye roll before someone asks you what service you would like. Ok, just going to let that go. 2) Everyone here looks rather upset or unhappy. Now I suffer from ARF (angry resting face) and it is hereditary on the female side of my family only. When I interact with the public as a nurse or when I style hair, I try to wear a smile so people feel comfortable. So I understand that nobody can help that but everybody is unhappy? Yikes! 3) I had my eyebrows waxed and there are bumps along the brow. (My brows DO look really good.....minus the bumps) 4) Got a mani/pedi, the mani looks good. The pedi looks good as well. However, when the nail tech was doing my pedicure she was scrubbing my feet with a small brush very vigorously to the point where I had to jerk my foot away ! Ouch!! I always wash my feet well and make sure my legs are well shaved before I get a pedicure because I'm vain like that. I am now missing the epidermis to my entire left leg (not, really but my leg still hurts 5 hours later). After I experienced that she was going to scrub my right leg with that same brush. Um, no...... 5) Please display prices where customers can see them. It's really shows a lack of refinement to not have it available. To have a customer question the price of everything makes one feel uncomfortable. I'm obviously not going to be returning. I would not recommend this place. Obviously, nail shops are lucky in the sense that if it's six o' clock in the afternoon and you need to get your nails done so you can judge if your husband/boyfriend loves you enough to notice that you have changed your nail color ( he does love you, but he could care less about your nail color) your going to go to the nail shop that is most convenient if you are not near your regular shop. We've all done it! This shop is placed expertly near other establishments of convenience ( gas station, cleaners, dollar general, restaurants to meet up at) so, good for them. No! read more
