You can see where the gel was filed off around tips

Honestly, today was my second visit. My first experience was fantastic, but this time the service fell short and the pricing made no sense. The quality needs improvement before raising prices. I paid more today for a builder gel refill than I did two weeks ago for a full set. The gentleman doing my nails filed most of the builder gel off, applied colored gel on top, then filed the ends so thin you can see white around the tips. For my daughter's full set of acrylics with gel and design, I was charged $98. It wasn't anything special, though there were a lot of extras--fine, but please explain the price breakdown to young teens. I also paid for her friend's full set of builder gel, which I didn't want to be rude about, but honestly looked rough. To top it off, I later checked their Facebook page and saw they're currently running a $6 off back-to-school discount for builder gel--which was never offered or applied to my service today. The highlight of the visit? Being asked to swipe my card again for $229 because their internet went down, despite me showing the pending charge already taken from my account. Could you imagine having to chase down a refund for that second swipe? Absolutely diabolical. Needless to say, this was my last trip there. I don't do price gouging--especially not for mediocre nails.

This is my thumb nail on my second trip in to fix the wrinkling from the first trip. As you can see it still looks terrible.

I went in for a simple acrylic fill and had 2 colors picked out to put on. The coats were put on too thick. My thumb wrinkled bad and two others chipped big pieces off. I returned 3 days later to get them fixed. The lady who fixed them did not leave them under the light long enough it seemed. Like in a big hurry even though they were not busy. When I got out to the car I saw the same thumb is wrinkled again. Not as bad, but def noticeable. Are you kidding me! How basic is this!! I came here for the first time because of all the beautiful artistic nails on the website. I thought this would be a place that would easily help me to pick out the 2 fall colors I had in a Pinterest picture. Nothing fancy, no art, just 2 alternating colors. 2nd trip and still isn't right. Not returning. Update. The polish on my thumb peeled off while towling off after my shower, same day as having it fixed.

So I decided on almond shaped extensions. I was a little worried about how they would come out, but Ray did a fantastic job. He found me the shade of white I was looking for and a matching nail polish for my toes. Ray was meticulous and gentle the whole process through. 10/10 work! The overall vibe of this nail salon is very relaxing. All the staff are very friendly and they keep things very clean. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nail spot in the area.

But today, I went in for a fresh set, and they were closed for renovations, so I decided to try their sister store in Webster. Honestly, I wish I hadn't bothered. I walked in, showed them a picture of what I wanted, and explained it. To my knowledge, she understood but she had an attitude the whole time. It felt like she was rushing because she wanted to go home, even though I came in two and a half hours before closing. She was supposed to put dip powder on, but instead, she started applying shellac to my natural nails. I told her I didn't want to see my natural nail underneath, and she got really angry, saying I was wasting her time and changing my mind. I explained that all I wanted was for my nails to look like the picture; I wasn't changing my mind at all. Eventually, the receptionist had to step in because the nail tech was being completely unprofessional. The receptionist was super nice and understanding, and really sticking up for me. In the end, the nail tech refused to do my nails, saying she was done and wanted to go home, claiming they couldn't do what I was asking because they didn't have it. The receptionist corrected her, saying they did have it; I just didn't want it see-through. When the receptionist told her they had what I was asking for, she went and picked a color that was nowhere near what I wanted, almost like she was mocking me. I felt really uncomfortable by the end of it, and honestly, that's not the kind of experience you want when you're spending over $100 on nails, especially when they're trying to do something completely different from what I asked for. Then the tech got rude with the receptionist, telling her to take $10 off my total and that I'd have to come back another day, even though I told her I couldn't because of work. The receptionist didn't charge me, and I left with nothing on my nails. Honestly, the whole experience was just completely frustrating and unacceptable! I will not be going back. I asked for her name, and she refused to give it to me. She even went as far as telling the receptionist to do my nails as she refused it. It was just a really disappointing experience overall, and I can't believe how unprofessional she was. If I could give them lower than a 1 star, I definitely would. The only thing that saved this place was the receptionist. I walked in with white tips, asked for strawberry nails, and the last photo shows how I left--no design, just took off my set and made me leave with only my natural nail).

****EDIT 12/09/25**** I would like to come here and edit my previous 1 star review back to 5 star…read more The manager Dana called me right away to correct my nails and apologize for the service and let me know the issue had been addressed. I appreciate any business that contacts their customers and takes these issues seriously. Thank you Lalla's. I have been a loyal customer for over a year and I only come to Lala's but today will be my last. The tech who did my chrome full set manicure in the front was very rude. I am so nice to everyone and she just didn't want to be there. Bad attitude just because I was asking questions. I don't get my finger nails done often. She cut my cuticles twice and made me bleed, used a large and painful tip on the drill. She didn't apologize for making me bleed and then when my nail accidentally bumped the nail dryer she loudly said "UGH!" And Rolled her eyes. So embarrassing. I have never been treated this poorly by a nail tech. I was still nice enough to tip her but I shouldn't have. She has ruined this salon for me. I expect Lala's to hire much nicer people for the prices they charge. I'm so upset. The nails look okay I guess. I just wanted to hurry and leave. I don't know her name but I'm sure the owner can check the cameras. Today at 4:00pm

I specifically told both the host and the nail technician that I wanted my cuticles pushed way back and my nails cut very short. They said they would. Two days later, looking closely, the job just isn't good. My nails are still long on the sides, they snag on my bedsheets, and the cuticles barely look touched. For a $32 pedi (plus a 20% tip), that's disappointing. This was my first and last visit--I don't recommend this place.
