Under normal circumstances, a cupcake is a cupcake. I've never craved one but I never turned one down. Then the day came where I first tried one from Vanilla Pastry Studio. I started driving 45 minutes each way to get one. I started going to restaurants that sold their whoopie pies. I was hooked. Needless to say, I am thankful that they have reopened. The recipe hasn't changed and they still send me tastebuds into overdrive. I appreciate that they don't taste artificial, and are light while not sending your molars into sugar shock. Welcome back! And for those that haven't tried them before, make it happen.

Was so excited to see the Vanilla Pastry Studio reopened their original location! I made a special trip from the South Hills to get a cupcake since I have not found another cupcake as delicious as the ones that I remembered from them. The shop is small, but the flavors are big! I bought cupcakes for two friends so they could also enjoy them. Make a trip-it is so worth it! My favorite was the Salted Carmel, my husband likes the vanilla and my friend liked the hot chocolate cupcake. I plan to come back soon and may order a cake since there are so many great options

We've placed multiple orders with them and everything has been phenomenal - they went above and beyond on both the decorations and flavors

I ordered abut 500 mini cupcakes for my wedding without doing a tasting at all! I actually had never even had any cupcakes at Vanilla Pastry Studio. I simply went off of yelp reviews, and their interesting unique flavors. I was not disappointed, and neither were my guests! The service at Vanilla Pastry is wonderful. They were quite helpful over the phone, and understood that I didn't have time to come in for a tasting. Everything was package perfectly, and you could taste that it had been baked that day. Everyone at the wedding reception was raving over them. Since then I have stopped by their shop multiple times to treat myself occasionally. Their cupcakes are unbelievably moist, seriously... I have no idea how they do it! I recently went to another wedding where they had done a cupcake tower, again they did a stellar job. If just want a treat, or a large order this is definitely the place to go. I just wish they had multiple locations, like dozen. I would definitely pick this place over dozen any day. My wedding order was: 1. Mango-Passionfruit 2. Vanilla - Dulce de Leche 3. Chocolate - Raspberry 4. Vanilla Chocolate 5. Vanilla - Vanilla They allowed me to pick theme colors for the balls on top too. It matched perfectly!

These are the tastiest most addicting little morsels! For my birthday I decided I did not want cake I wanted mini cupcakes because we were going to be in a crowded bar with no seating and a band playing! This idea was perfect for my festivities and super cute! I looked up the web site to find the vast array of cupcake selections. They had so much to choose from, they could satisfy anyone's tastes. I decided on the flavors I wanted and called in my order. The woman who worked with me was so incredibly nice and accommodating. The menu is big but they don't carry every single item on the list at all times. It is best to call and see what they will be making and what they have to choose from as some are seasonal. I had chosen 2 dozen split into boxes of six. So 6 mango passion fruit, 6 s'mores, 6 chocolate peanut butter, and 6 cookies n' cream. I also ordered a jumbo chocolate cupcake for the centerpiece with pink icing. They offered to add a fondant top that said Happy Birthday to MEEE! I'll add my pic so you can see. I'm a customer for life and they are sooo delicious.

They have two cases of their delicious looking pastries, one table of discounted items, and a case serving hot items. Open that case and serve yourself the hot mini quiches and empanadas. Started with a mini quiche and a beef empanada. Hubby liked his quiche. I'm not a fan of olives and they were all over my beef empanada. Will not be getting that one again. The kind young lady behind the case helped us order our very first Burnt Almond Torte. It comes in different sizes and we chose the bar as it easily serves two. She even gave us sporks to eat it with. We really loved the Burnt Almond Torte. The inside has a soft, moist vanilla cake layered with a thin layer of icing and enrobed with more icing and topped with the buttery, crunchy almonds. We will be back for more.

I started with the quiche and enjoyed it; the crust was just average but the egg filing was very good. My wife was not a fan of the empanada so we will not get that again. It was around 10 hours before we tried our Burnt Almond Torte...wow! That dessert is something that I will eat again, and again. The toasted almonds were soooo good! They were crunchy, crispy, and perfect. The Bar Cake had a white cake inside and icing on the outside; it was heavily coated in those almonds. The person who assisted was knowledgeable about the items to a point; she did not eat anything in the bakery so it was by observation. Don't care, that Burnt Almond Torte is the real deal!

It seems too far for most people staying in downtown but it just so happens that we were on a road trip and therefore....had a car. Less than 10 min from downtown was all it took. No seating inside actually which gave me an excuse to wolf this shit down in the comfort of our rental car. Breakfast sandwiches were a given but I was struck by the adorable and enticing pastries and breads on display. There were a number of appealing contestants for my sandwich but the ubiquitous presence of my arch nemesis onions made it slightly challenging. We had spent the preceding few days in Cleveland and then Pittsburgh and while sauerkraut has a lot of nutritional benefits, it is somewhat lacking in protein so I felt comfortable with the "breakfast" with chickpea tofu egg scramble, roasted tomato mayo, vegan sausage and pickles on a nice, juicy bun. I admire the chickpea tofu egg it was a very nice replica for eggs. The sausage patty was gigantic and that mayo was so good. GF ordered the seitan melt with sauerkraut, red onion, oat cheese, pickles, toum, and roasted tomatoes. I tried some of the seitan which was doused in sauce and EXCELLENT. Our road trip bread supply was dwindling so we also got one of their whole grain sourdough loaves which is fantastic and still kicking 5 days later. Paired wonderfully with soup So good

The croissants were great when you lightly air fry/toast them if you don't eat them right away. In Lawrenceville, it's a small location with a couple of outdoor seating but none inside. However, it is a chain so you might have one in your little area. My only thing is that the pistachio eclair is very sweet (so if you don't have a sweet tooth, maybe I'd go for another subtler dessert). I saw they have a deal where you can get a baguette, sandwich, and drink for $7. Good deal imo considering the quality of their bread, and it's a good excuse to buy a sweet treat with it!

For the quality, it's well worth it. Consistently great, reliably tasty, and perfect for special occasions or whenever you want to treat yourself. The staff is friendly.
