Vaneli's is one my my goto roasters in the Sacramento region. They have a couple roasts that suit my palate. I try to support small/local businesses so I'd recommend giving them a shot. Good idea to check their hours. They are a small operation and their hours might not mesh with your availability. You can always have them ship to you. This is a looonnggggg overdue review for Vaneli's and its most hospitable manager and coffee expert Pong. Now as I rack my brain to recall the coffee names and blends, I regret not writing sooner. Vaneli's is a coffee roaster and distributer. It is not a coffee shop, but if the store isn't too busy, Pong will generously brew you samples of coffee. Being a coffee connoisseur, he will serve each sample in a new cup to keep the flavors pure and separate. I think we tried 4 or 5 different coffees. I knew that Rocklin Donuts & Cinnamon, 105 Noshery, and Pottery World Cafe all served Vaneli's coffee, so we tried all 3 of those. Rocklin Donuts & Cinnamon: Monster Italian 105 Noshery: A blend of Italian Roast and French Roast??? Pottery World Cafe: Blend of the Opera??? Just ask the store which coffee bean your favorite restaurant uses. As we leisurely tasted our coffee, devoted customers came in, ordering 5 lb bags of their favorite coffee. One customer hooked his friends and coworkers on Classic Dark, so my best friend ended up buying that based on trust. I think that customer might have bought 15 lb of that coffee while we were there to distribute to his people! We had fun chatting with and learning from Pong and the various customers. My favorite was the Monster Italian, which is dark, sweet, and flavorful. It is also a bestseller. My friend, who prefers medium roast, liked Pottery World Cafe's coffee sample the most even though he didn't like it at the restaurant. We were told that the flavor difference may be due to the storage or age of the coffee bags. In addition, Vaneli's has won awards for its Classic Cremosa and Organic Hambela Wamena Natural. There's even a coffee named Elite Blend! You can find all sorts of coffee brewing equipment and supplies here. I bought a shot glass measuring cup to measure either 1 oz or 2 oz. Stopped in at a cafe for lunch and had the most delicious latte. The Pantry. Asked who the roaster was and they told me Vanelis in Rocklin. So i researched them and went to buy a cup of coffee and not knowing it wasn't a cafe but the actual roastery. The person working there was amazing, she made me a latte and didnt even charge me. I heard about this place from a local restaurant I went to Q1227 and they had great coffee. I asked who their roaster was, and they told me a local roaster name Vanelis. So, I looked them up. Not a coffee shop but a roaster and you can go and buy their coffee anytime. Amazing customer service! They even offered to make me an espresso drink. For free! It was the best latte i have ever had. I ended up buying 4 bags of coffee. They even offered to grind it for me. Which i didn't need it ground. I will definitely be going to places that serve their coffee. I went to the store a couple months ago and staff were super friendly too. They can pre grind the coffee for you as well in the back if needed. This place is awesome! This is a place that makes coffee beans and sells coffee making equipment. However the people that woke here are absolutely fabulous. I was looking for an aeropress for a Christmas present, and I learned much more than I even intended to. He showed me how to use the device and on top of that did 3 different types of coffee so that I could sample the difference and learn what kind of coffee I like better. Vaneli's is primarily focused on commercial customers (restaurants, coffee shops, etc folks who are buying in bulk), so initially we were a little intimidated walking in as regular retail folks. Having moved into the area a little under a year ago, we've spent the entire year looking for a new go to coffee roaster, and have finally found it! We had tried all the other places (Choco fish, world travellers, etc ) and while those places have their selling points, we didn't ultimately like their roasts, but Vaneli's smooth, chocolatey, nutty roasts is exactly up our alley! The other places weren't worth writing a review about, but Vaneli's is def worth writing home about! Pong, who greeted us as we walked into their little storefront (again not really geared towards retail), was very knowledgeable, and also very relatable! Knowing not everyone is as into or familiar with coffee, espresso, and the roasting and pulling process, Pong walked us through everything, and even provided sample espresso, coffee (multiple roasts), and even hot cocoa and mochas. We walked out pretty wired from all the caffeine, but with multiple bags in hand of a few of their products (monster Italian, organic, and hot cocoa). Price is extremely reasonable, and customer service even for retail folks is unsurpassed. We will be recommending this place, not only here on yelp, but to all our friends in the area. Also their showroom has a big selection of espresso machines and grinders and all kinds of related accessories, and we may have to upgrade soon! I ended up spending two hours tasting, comparing and discussing all things coffee with Pong. We compared Vienna Roast with Monster Italian and ended up buying three 12 oz. bags of the Monster. The General Manager, Pong, spent literally all day with me sharing his knowledge, giving me recommendations, and helping me select my new equipment. I saw an advertisement in a Sacramento Food magazine about Coffee tasting. There was a sidebar ad for Vaneli's Coffee Valentine gift set. I have never heard of Vaneli's, so I was curious. I am a coffee fiend and I have been in the market for a new Espresso beans. No offense to Peet's or SB's, but I need to get my Coffee spending habit down. I used to be a Barista for Nordies and have an Espresso machine at home. Armed with the ad, I went online to shop for something of a Med. Roast, but not too bitter. I found the Espresso Forte 1 Lbs. which is described as- "The darker roast rounds out the acidity while pushing the sweet dark chocolate tones to the foreground. The balance of medium-dark and light roasted coffees from Africa, India, and Central and South America produces a celebrated espresso with copious amounts of crema. Perfectly suited for cappuccinos, Mochas or lattes". Being that I constantly drinks Mochas and Lattes, it seemed like the most logical choice. My order was delayed because I influxed my c/c number on the initial order. A Customer Service representative called me and had assisted me to correct the problem. She then sent out the order the next day. It arrived via UPS and was exactly what I ordered. The bag has a Vacuumed sealed bag and stays airtight. The Espresso is a little bitter, but has light Chocolate notes. The Crema on top is perfect and it taste way better than Peet's or Starbucks. I will definitely order from them again and it is such a value at $12.10 for a Lb bag and with shipping amounted to $7.53. $20.00 is what I normally spend on average in a given week at Coffee Shops. 5 Stars overall for the Customer Service and Product. read more

I called today and asked the person who answered the phone if they sold a particular brand of espresso machine. Instead of answering my question they responded by asking me if I had a chance to look at their website? I responded by saying that doesn't answer my question do you sell the brand or not. You answered my question with a question. It's a simple yes we do or no we don't. She then proceeded to tell me she didn't like the way I was speaking to her. What? I asked her a question plain and simple and she doesn't like the way I'm speaking to her? I'm prepared to spend money on a machine and they have for sure lost a customer! A premium roaster and espresso machine repair/distributer in Rocklin?!? Yes it's true!! Vaneli's is one of the biggest espresso machine repair and supply businesses in the United States. They also do an exquisite job of roasting coffee! As mentioned in other reviews this is not a café, they supply beans and machines. The manager up front is Pong. He could not be more polite or helpful! His recommendations to me were spot on and the quality of their merchandise is unsurpassed. Be wary if he makes you a mocha...you will be hooked, especially since he makes them with a copious amount of chocolate- the way I make mine. Their roasts are spot on the way I like my espresso. The price is on par with other premium local roasters such as Chocolate Fish in Sacramento. I also got a Blond Guatemalan roast for my drip coffee set-up when I want a Vietnamese Drip over condensed milk. Down to the business of getting a machine- they are my go to place now! I have been looking for an E-61 espresso head Italian machine for about a decade now. Upon researching geeky coffee reviews and high end aficionado reviews for robust machines I decided on the La Scala "Butterfly". These are a chunk of change- expect about $2000 out the door! Vaneli's is one of two places in the USA that sells such a machine! This was a major selling point for me as such a machine should last for 20 years with standard use and maintenance, however having the shop that can repair and supply small parts such as gaskets just up the street is a major point of confidence for me! Their sales rep. Monte could not be nicer or more down to earth! If you buy a La Scala they will not let it out of the shop without a 48 hr testing period. Monte was kind enough to bring it to my house after the 48 hrs, help me with set up, and give me and my spouse a two hr lesson on the intricacies of the machine, use of my grinder, and how to pull a good espresso with steamed foam usable for Latte' art! Just met Dave at Vaneli's. It was my first time in after my favorite roasting in Los Angeles had recommended swinging by. I was there for a solid 30-40 minutes chatting about different coffee regions, tasting nuances, brewing methods, and more. Dave asked me if I "wanted a shot". I've never been one to turn down a free shot (of any kind), so I headed to the back room and he served me up. He wanted the taste to be just right, so he actually made a couple shots before it came out to the perfection he wanted me to try. That interaction sums up the experience I had at Vaneli's. The care about the quality of the beans and the art of drinking coffee. I picked up a pound of Costa Rican that Dave recommended. The per pound prices were the only thing that threw me off a bit. I'm sure it will be great coffee...and I should hope so at $14.85/lb. Most of the prices were between $12-$15 per pound. We love this place - with its great urban vibe, it's a little slice of the city in El Dorado Hills. Great hang-out, with breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and Nick makes the best mocha in El Dorado Hills. The place also has free wifi, and a hangout spot with a coupla couches.
