On multiple visits, he stepped in and interrupted conversations I was having with staff, often in a dismissive and unhelpful way. It disrupted the interaction and made the experience unnecessarily uncomfortable. For example, I was asking about a hex key for my fridge handle. A staff member was explaining that the connection was worn out, and I was clarifying whether I could still get a key that fits the socket. At that point, Mr. Goldberg stepped in and said, "we're not doing repairs," which wasn't what I was asking. Similar interruptions have happened 2-3 times, so it doesn't feel like a one-off.

Kudos to the Department of Public Works for EXCELLENT snow removal on the side streets -- enabling parking. I called the day before to make sure I could pick up all the things that I would need to bring back home. I live in Maryland and we were hit with 6 inches of snow with a 4 inch layer of ICE on top. I will need to break the ice before I can clean my parking spot and front walk way. The guys at Goldbergs gave me advice on what i might need. As I browsed the store, I found extra gloves and that weird adapter that I've been looking everywhere for. Sorry -- Amazon, I would rather buy local! They even helped me get my things to the car. If you are local to Tarrytown --- check out Goldbergs Hardware. I could have spent 2 hours looking around Home Depot and not finding what I need --- instead I was in and out in 11 minutes and couldn't be happier. KUDOS... reasonable prices, good quality and they are more than willing to give you advice and help. You know it's reasonable when the guy in front of you is a contractor.

When you arrive, there's a screen where you can scan your order barcode or enter your order number. Your name and order pop up on a monitor along with how long you've been waiting -- very much like the old Sears pickup system from years ago, and it works well. While I was waiting, three different employees stopped to ask if I was being helped, which I appreciated. When my order was ready, someone brought it out on a dolly and helped me load it into my car. Loading turned out to be a bit challenging for a few reasons, but the employee helping me was incredibly patient and genuinely helpful throughout the process. While I'm not a fan of driving through the traffic to get to this location, pickup here was a breeze.

They came and reviewed our kitchen and asked questions on what we would like in the kitchen. A week later we were invited to their Sea Cliff office where they showed us our kitchen. My jaw dropped when they were showing it to us and I remember saying is this our kitchen? I never imaged our kitchen having an island but she was able to get that in there and it looked gorgeous. They helped us pick cabinets and our counter top. They also helped us with our knobs and gave us great sites to find our faucet and sink. What I loved most of all is the placement of the draws and cabinets. Every one of them is in the perfect place. I love that I can take food out of the refrigerator and the island is right there. The in-draw knife holder is in perfect placement for us to cook and the garage is also in perfect placement. We had a corner area in the kitchen and they suggested a lemans and it is just perfect. There is minimal movement when we are cooking as everything we need is within a step or two. Because we took down a weight bearing wall we had to have a support beam run through our island. John suggested he match the wood with our cabinets. We did and it makes the support beam look perfect through the island. Lastly, now that the kitchen and dining room are one we have a radiator in the dining room and John made us a beautiful cover that matches our cabinets. They are true professionals and I can't say enough how thankful we are that they helped us with this project.
