You tried the rest, now try the best. Supreeya altered my wedding dress perfectly. I bought a sample dress that fit me perfectly at first and then wouldn't ya know, I lost another 15 lbs before my wedding. Crazy magical stuff, that wedding stress! I'd say my overall experience was standard. She took in the waist first, and then hemmed the bottom. Last she did the bustle which was STRONG and stayed up all night! She forgot to add a loop at the bottom of my train (for the second line) so she did it at the shop while I waited, lickety split! The price was high (around 500) and I was on a tight budget. My dress fitting perfectly was high on my list so to me it was worth it! It's not really one of those things you have a lot of chances with so go see Supreeya and be confident you're in good hands. read more

Supreeya is fantastic! She shortened my double layered bridesmaid dress with no problem and she was able to fix another dress that had been gaping at the top. She worked super fast (less than two weeks for two dresses, one of which was a bit complicated). She gave great tips on how to fix things in the most affordable and speedy way. 10/10 experience, highly recommend read more

Supreeya did an amazing job with my wedding dress! Mine required extensive alterations (it was too big), hand sewing a lace trim, and adding straps. Everything turned out perfectly and fits exactly how I wanted it. I would 100% recommend having your dress altered by Supreeya! read more

vanda is amazing!! She took my dress from being a few sizes too big to looking custom! I had a wonderful experience using her to alter my wedding and rehearsal dinner dress. Highly recommend! read more

Supreeya was wonderful! I was freaking out about not being able to fit into my dress anymore. She helped to calm me down and give alternatives. She was able to do what others said could not be done! She added a lace corset in the back and it looked like it was originally designed that's way! She told me "Don't worry. I'm the best in the city!" Lol I believe that. My dress turned out beautifully!!! Thank you again! read more

Supreeya is great. It's definitely not cheap but I think her knowledge and skills make it worth it. I brought her my wedding dress (crepe fabric) on Oct 2 and she was able to have it ready by Oct 18. My wedding is on Oct 25. She even fixed a lining that was showing unflatteringly in the bust. She sent me a picture, u asked her if she can fix it and she made the correction in a day. She is quick and if you have questions, she can explain why she suggests something. I would highly recommend her if you want someone who has the experience and skills to make your dress right and beautifully on you. She has a very direct personality so don't take it personally if she's very frank. I personally love that but I know not everyone may be used to that. Will post a picture after I get married and get them :P Thank you, Supreeya! read more

Update: The wedding dress fit like an absolute glove the night of the wedding. I had so many of my guests approach me and tell me it was the most beautiful gown they had ever seen. I even had one guest ask to take a picture on their phone to show someone that wasn't there. Supreeya, you are so amazing!!!! I could not have felt more confident thanks to you!!!!! read more

I found this on Yelp so I had to give a review!!! I purchased my dress from town and country and their seamstress was leaving so I couldn't schedule an appointment. Of course I turned to Yelp to figure out someone who could tailor my wedding dress! He advised for the most part she text, she told me I was lucky she listened to my message on voicemail! My dress had five different layers in the skirt part and she hemmed them to perfection!!!!! She fixed the small cap sleeve and everything. When I tell you she truly has an eye for what is necessary. She is so sweet and funny. I got so many compliments on my dress and everyone loved it! read more

I had an extremely complicated and delicate dress. Supreeya altered my wedding dress BEAUTIFULLY. I had a hard time finding someone who I trusted to work on my dress, and I extremely lucky to have found her. read more

We had a last minute (as in a couple of days before the wedding) emergency alteration required. We came in from out of town and didn't know any tailors in the area. Vanda's came through in a pinch and was not only willing to work within the schedule of our wedding weekend, but knocked the alteration out of the park. The team was super understanding of our situation and did everything possible to assist, including staying past her normal hours and working on the dress late at night. They made it very clear that we were important to her and they hadn't even heard of us until the week of our wedding. They also helped in hand pressing the dress and took really great care of my bride and her dress. Would definitely recommend to anyone. read more

This place is amazing. I came in to get a zipper fixed on a beaded gown that I needed to wear two days later. I had taken it to another tailor and they said that the zipper would need to be replaced and that they could not get the work done in time. I called Vanda and she told me to come in right away. She is a custom bridal dress maker and the store is full of beautiful gowns. She took a look and was able to fix the zipper without replacing it. She saved the day! She was so helpful and calm. I would definitely recommend this place in the future. read more

Vanda Bridal did a fabulous job and was so nice and helpful! She worked with my urgent schedule and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend! read more

Amazing - Vada is magical with her sewings skills! I am amazed at the care taken to make sure the figure lines and dress boning were correct while making the needed alterations, making sure the beading and dress designs worked with the alteration. The dress looks stunning and fits beautifully and does not look like it was changed in any way. I am so impressed with the professionalism and skill. Thank you Vada!! read more

Supreeya did a fabulous job on my wedding dress. It was several sizes too large and she made it fit just right! I also accidentally ripped the fabric around the closures during my bridal photoshoot and she quickly repaired it for me with ease so the closures would be reinforced for my wedding day. read more

Supreeya saved my wedding gown (and my sanity)-- one week before my wedding. I had Initially brought my dress to the seamstress that was (highly) regarded by the salon from which I purchased my dress. Long story short: I picked up my dress after only ONE fitting (this was about the 10th red flag), and ONE week before my wedding (per recommendation of seamstress), to discover that the entire bodice was completely botched. Defeated and unable to get the seamstress to admit the dress looked terrible, I left, and IMMEDIATELY (on my drive home with my dress in my trunk) called Supreeya, who was recommended by my planner. I explained the situation, and within 2 minutes I was heading to her HOUSE to drop off my dress. She knew instantly what had to be altered to get the fit just right. After one more quick fitting, I picked up my gown on the afternoon before my wedding. It fit perfectly. Brides-- do not even waste your time on another seamstress. Have Supreeya later your gown, and know that it will be perfect in the end. read more

Supreeya is an artist. I brought her my mom's wedding dress on short notice to alter for my City Hall ceremony. She was precise & visionary, and made only the necessary changes. The dress was delicate and had never been cleaned; Supreeya spot treated it for me when no dry cleaner would. She was realistic about my timeline, clear about what she could offer, and compassionate towards my concerns. For personal service and custom designs, I would go nowhere else. HIGHLY recommend. read more

Great work! Supreeya is fast, personable, and extremely skilled with her work. She got a bridesmaid dress done for me perfectly and quickly and texted updates. Price is right for the work she does. She's got a good sense of humor too :) read more

SUPREEYA at VANDA IS THE BEST!! My dress was SO MESSED UP from a seamstress named BABBS who retired from Town & Country, and now works out of her house, with HORRIBLE customer service. I found SUPREEYA at VANDA and she worked 15 hours through the mess to fix everything that was messed up. It was a job that hardly nobody would even touch and Supreeya braved her way through it making it as good as she possibly could. read more

I had a very special and delicate garment that had been damaged. It was my good fortune to have come across Vanda Couture on Yelp. I made an appointment with Supreeya and brought her my garment. Supreeya was amazing. My Mother of the Groom dress was delivered 2weeks late due to Hurricane Ida and with only 4days to complete the work she took in the dress that had boning and hemmed it. It turned out absolutely perfect!!! Got many compliments. So thankful!! read more

Supreeya is an absolute genius. I came in with a dress that I definitely wasn't in love with, and she turned it into my dream dress. Such an incredible alteration service! I was able to get my dress fixed in just one day and everything was taken care of so well and came out perfectly. I will definitely be back here! So reliable and friendly :) Highly recommend. Best service in New Orleans read more

Supreeya is a literal miracle worker. I purchased a floor sample from a bridal gallery in my native Iowa because it fit decently and they offered a discount on samples. I brought it to Supreeya once I moved to Nola and she worked her way through the difficult boning, intricate bead work, and delicate lace on the bodice and made the dress fit like a glove. She also added a bustle for the long train that was a lifesaver when it came time to hit the dance floor! The dress turned out perfectly, Supreeya was easy to work with and a real sweetheart, and I couldn't have been happier. Prices are competitive, expensive but definitely worth it for the quality of the work. She's also a very fast worker, other places would have taken twice as long but she only needed 3 weeks turnaround time between fittings. She even pressed the dress for me so the eyelash lace would sit right and showed me how to pack it for my destination wedding. I would definitely recommend Vanda to anyone needing dress alterations in the New Orleans area! Do remember that it is cash only, so make sure to hit up the ATM before your final fitting! read more

I give Supreeya my highest recommendation for wedding/formal gown alterations in New Orleans. I came to Supreeya with 3 dresses for my wedding and a tight timeline. The dresses were very intricate, with lots of beading, lace, and tulle, and they required hand stitching. However, Supreeya was a pro! She not only finished altering my dresses quickly, but she made sure the alterations were done beautifully and that everything fit me perfectly. When I asked for advice on how to change something, she knew just what to do. She also made sure to ask me about things I'd forgotten about, such as a bustle. Her expertise clearly showed. I would go to her again in a heartbeat, and highly encourage others to do the same. She's the best! read more

I moved to New Orleans a year ago. I was engaged, and bought my dress actually in Ohio. I was not going to fly back and forth to get my dress altered because that is crazy expensive to do. NO ONE here would help me or call me back to fix my dress because I didn't get it at a their bridal store. I found Supreeya (the owner of Vanda) on TheKnot.com. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful job. She does impeccable work. She was expensive, but it was well worth it because the dress fit me like a glove and I just felt amazing. I never worried about it slipping down or anything. Because of her work, I never once felt uncomfortable. If you need alterations on a wedding dress, do yourself a favor and trust her. She will make you look amazing. Also, she is super nice :) Thank you Supreeya for being a part of my day :) read more

I had a wonderful experience! This is an expert seamstress who pays attention to detail and is great at what she does. I thought my wedding dress looked great before getting alterations, but after my experience at Vanda, I looked and felt absolutely AMAZING in my dress! I was worried because my dress had lots of lace, beading, and intricate details... but she worked magic and it now looks like my dress was custom designed for my body. She knows how to perfectly accentuate the body and she had me looking good from every angle in my dress. She worked overtime and seemingly around the clock to get my last minute alterations done in time for my wedding. I highly recommend for any sort of alterations!! read more

Supriya did a wonderful job with my alterations but it cost much more than I thought it would. I assumed my alterations would only be around $ 200 (taken in a bit on top, cups added, & hemmed) and they ended up being almost triple that total. I was shocked. I certainly should have asked for a quote beforehand but in my wildest dreams I'd never thought it would be so expensive. That was way, way more than the average cost of $ 200.00... just ask ahead of time. read more

The dress was beautiful on the day of my wedding. It was perfect. Thanks again to Supreeya!

I called around multiple places in New Orleans to get my wedding dress altered and they were all booked for months. I called Vanda and told her I needed my dress done quickly. She said she could do it. I met with her that week and left my dress on a Friday and it was done by Tuesday of the next week. It was done PERFECTLY. And the price was great. She is so awesome and I HIGHLY recommend her. read more

Vanda saved me! Bought a wedding dress that I thought was not salvageable - took it to her and she fixed!! Price was way below what I thought, service was fast and I had a great dress for my wedding day. She was a doll to deal with - I hugged her when I left! Highly reccomend! read more

This place is beyond amazing. She is a magic worker. I came in with less than a week before a wedding needing to get a bridesmaids dress that look like a full on bag hanging on me and turned it into a gorgeous fitting elegant dress that I will wear again. She is truly spectacular at her job and I would go back to her over and over again because she pays such close attention to detail, listens to what the customer wants and gives suggestions on what would work. I am over the moon with my dress and could not thank her enough. 100% recommend read more

I was turned down by two different seamstresses before finding Supreya. I needed my dress in about a month and everyone said it was too short notice. I had beadwork damage to my dress and needed to shorten a strap. Very minimal work, but still no one to do it! Supreya did an amazing job on my wedding gown. It looks flawless! She is a little pricey in comparison to others I'd found, but worth every penny. She is so sweet and kind. I honestly would have paid whatever she charged me. I will most probably never go to another seamstress again! read more

This is the most amazing lady!!!! I arrived in New Orleans with a wedding dress destroyed by my previous seamstress. With my wedding 24 hours away, she saved the day. Not only was her work beautiful, but she was so conscientious about making sure it was done correctly. Rather than doing just was asked of her, she righted every wrong from the other seamstress. This allowed me to feel truly beautiful on my wedding day. read more

the final fitting and then you will be faced with an unexpected large bill. For 2 months, she refused to provide me with the cost of alterations for my wedding gown and another specialty gown. I would ask during the fitting appointments and she said she would tell me later. I have multiple texts asking pricing that were met with silence. When the final fitting came, she totaled "hours" on a plain white sheet of paper. I was never given the per hour charge at any point. After only being in the store for 30 minutes, she tried to charge me an "extra hour" for the final dress pick-up. That was after she showed up 30 minutes late and had forgotten to sew on the bustle buttons. I would also check that she sews in your cups. She charged me for that and I found out later they were just tucked into the bodice cups. I had to tape them in myself for my wedding day so they wouldn't shift. That being said, I will give 2/5 stars for the other alterations that did take place. read more
