Great quality but way expensive in my opinion. Four pair of pants for hemming and two of those with waist size reduction - almost $90. This is my only complaint and, yes, I will use them again after perhaps some research for competition. read more

No customer service! Needed alteration and after putting on the dress for fitting was told the task could not be completed. After getting dressed to leave no one said a WORD. RUDE read more

I totally got ripped off here, price was absolutely outrageous! Never again! I was shocked when I left, paid $225.00 to get 2 dresses altered that didn't even cost me that much. read more

The worst experience, I went on told him to cuff and hem, paid $54 for 3 pants ,& he didn't do what I asked,& was told if he did what I wanted it would cost more, any more could have bought a pair of pants. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Somehow I can never perfectly fit into clothes upon purchase. It is either waist is too big or sleeves are too long. I was in search for a good reliable alteration place that does not charge a fortune as I was looking for a place I planned to visit frequently, not just once. Places in CBD were somewhat over-priced so I narrowed my search to across the river area. I found Alteration center on Yelp and decided to take a piece of garment as a test run. Long story short, this place indeed became my Go To place for any alteration. Blazer, skirt, dress, pants... you name it and I have gotten some sort of work done from here. Whether I brought one or multiple pieces, it always has been one week turnaround period. Prices are incredibly reasonable. read more

I wanted to re-review, because since my last review I have been here many more times and ownership has changed. The most complicated thing I had to get altered was a vintage dress. I was nervous about doing anything to it, because it's made from a satin material and I'm not sure how easy or difficult that is to alter. I brought it in and I needed a few things done: I needed it pulled in a few inches, I needed it brought up a few inches and I needed the sleeves brought up a bit. I went in and tried the dress on and told the man working what I needed done. He pinned it and marked it and told me it would be ready in a week. Well, he did a fantastic job! The dress fits perfectly and you would never guess that it needed any work. As I mentioned, since my last review the shop has changed owners. The owner is now a man who does all of the alterations himself. Even though ownership has changed, the prices haven't and you can still get a really good deal on all of your altering needs. I have been to this man quite a few times and he always does a fantastic job. read more

Alteration Center - Signage - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Gretna, Louisiana

The Alteration Center is a unique place. It is located in a strip mall right off of Belle Chasse Hwy, but isn't very easy to find. As you walk in several ladies are sitting behind some very old looking sewing machines. I have come here numerous times to have work clothes altered and have sent many people here for work as well. That being said, my luck has been hit or miss. On my last trip I needed some pants hemmed. I told them the length to make them, but they insisted I try them on and have them measure. That was fine, but the changing area was tiny and the curtain didn't close all the way. That didn't really bother me, but if I were a lady, I wouldn't want some cheesy dude leering at me if I were in there. Granted there aren't too many dudes in this place, but it does bear mentioning. Anyway, I get measured and hand over my three pairs of pants. A few days later they were ready. The pants were all wrong. The hem was far too long so I went back. Then when I picked them up two were the same length (too short) and the other was still too long. My suggestion is to ensure you try on everything before leaving. This was the only time I had issues, and this is one of the only alteration shops I know of on the WB. If you need something altered, give these ladies a try. read more

Great affordable alterations. I bought a new tuxedo online and they altered it perfectly. All in $50 for the alterations (both jacket body and arm Length, pants waist, seat, and length). Way less than anyone else quoted (I visited 3 tailors). Tux was $59 on eBay and alterations were $50 - all in brand new tux for $109. Much better than I could have done locally... read more

Whew! This was a trek from the CBD but I think it was worth it. Even though I speak Vietnamese, it was a pleasant surprise that the owner and tailor was proficient in English. I had a gown and a skirt that both needed to be shortened and he charged me less than anywhere else I've been in the city. It took a week but I didn't need it rushed nor did I specify a date. The dressing rooms were small but clean. He accepts credit cards. I see myself being a repeat customer for sure! read more

I've been here three times, all to get pants hemmed. It costs about $8 to get pants hemmed, and it takes about a week. John L. H. mentioned in his review that the dressing room has a curtain that doesn't close all the way. On my most recent visit, the small dressing room had an actual door that could be locked from the inside. The staff are quick, polite, and professional, and I'm pleased with their work. I will return to Alteration Center in the future. read more

I had gotten a bridesmaid dress from DB and was so disappointed when it came in - they had recommended the wrong size and it was entirely too big. I looked like a frumpy sad mess, and the neckline plunged far below what I consider appropriate for a wedding. I brought my dress to Mr. Kevin and picked it up today, and literally gasped when I put it on at home. He did an absolutely marvelous job! He raised the shoulders, closed the neckline a bit, brought in the sides and hemmed the bottom, and every part is absolutely perfect. It fits like a dream, and all that work took him less than a month and cost under $130 with tax. I'm absolutely thrilled with the work he did - he's brilliant, and I'll absolutely bring any future alteration business to him! read more

Kevin the owner did such a great job with my dress to turnaround time was quickly and he was very professional. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone needing alterations. read more

Kevin is fantastic. I needed a dress hemmed for a wedding on an unreasonably quick turnaround. I landed in NOLA on a Friday morning and had to wear the dress mid-day Saturday. I called ahead, and they said they might be able to do it if I got it there early enough, so I went straight there from the airport. Thankfully, they were able to make it work, and I was able to get the dress back with time to spare. It looked great, and I'm forever grateful! read more

Kevin Le did a great job on my daughters Winter Formal dress. It was too big in some areas and kind of ill fitting and now she loves it. Only negative is theirs no listed prices and he just randomly figures something up in his head on the spot so it can be costly. A bit overpriced but I would consider going back again. read more

Kevin is the best! I was going out of the country on a trip and received a pair of pants by UPS the day before leaving. He fixed them for me to take on my trip and even stayed late to do it. Can't ask for anything else! read more
