And with real…read morecoconut/cashew ice cream bases, all those with lactose-sensitivities finally have more than sorbets to choose from. I really enjoyed the vegan banana pudding and seasonal planet earth flavors, and look forward to coming back and trying more options soon. Added bonus that Van Leeuwen has a variety of topping/sauce options to choose from.

Van Leeuwen has really taken over the DMV area, with this location replacing Nicecream. It started…read morewith two locations in DC a couple years ago, and now there are at least 10. While the ice cream is much pricier than other local chains in the area, I do appreciate their seasonal flavors along with their classic Earl Grey Tea. Also, they're on inKind, which helps! We stopped by after lunch this past Sunday, and there was a long line. Unfortunately, there was only one employee, who did her best to give samples, scoop out ice cream, and manage the cash register all at once. I definitely think Van Leeuwen could use a couple more employees, especially on a hot summer Sunday afternoon. I got a single scoop (7.95) of banana pudding, a seasonal flavor, which was actually served as two mini scoops. I did enjoy how banana-y it was and the chunks of vanilla wafers throughout, but it was incredibly sweet. Unfortunately, I couldn't even finish my ice cream. A couple of others in our group tried the other seasonal flavor, strawberry rhubarb cheesecake. However, it mostly tasted like cheesecake with bits of crust, with no noticeable strawberry or rhubarb flavor. Overall, I still like that Van Leeuwen offers unique flavors, and their ice cream is rich and creamy, but this visit was pretty underwhelming. The ice cream is already expensive, and the excessive sweetness made it difficult to finish even a single scoop.

Came here for the Coffee Omakase and it was SUCH a fun experience. My husband and I have slightly…read moredifferent tastes when it comes to coffee, and we were each allowed to pick separate options off of the menu for each course which was really nice. We sat at the bar top and got to watch our barista prepare each drink. She was so nice and knowledgeable about the whole menu and had a lot of information to share, but she also gave my us time to sip our drinks and discuss them amongst ourselves. It was a great balance of being able to have an interactive experience with the barista but also being able to casually enjoy our afternoon espressos quietly with each other. Your final drink of choice is served in a larger size and given to-go, so you can continue having your treat even after the experience wraps up. The drinks themselves were so unique and wildly different from one another. I was initially pretty skeptical about an espresso with lemon and peach but it ended up being my favorite one. My only complaint is their base espresso on it's own was one of the more bitter ones I have tried, but mixed into their drinks it was great. I couldn't recommend this experience more highly. I had such a fun time, no part of it felt rushed, I thoroughly enjoyed every part. They even have the option to make the drinks from the Omakase menu decaf if you're trying to limit your caffeine, which is a really nice touch. I will definitely be back!

My friend treated me to it, but still a splurge. I highly recommend the Oh-A. I think the second one we got was the pine cone - pretty good, but I have a personal bias for something more refreshing (aka OH-A).

I was sitting down inside and the ambiance was very nice and quiet, and I have super sensitive hearing, I can hear things very clearly, I heard this one guy working there and it sounded to me like he was harassing one of the girl workers there, she seems very young, it was very concerning and honestly kinda weird and disturbing to hear this guy say this at work. Not very professional like, I would suggest talking to this guy or firing him. If I was working there and this guy said this to me, I would quit. Then another time I was there and he was being rude to a customer, this was on a Sunday and one again I was there just sitting and I was witnessing it. Other than that; everything else was amazing.

I got a McLovin (Sasuage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit), a New Orleans style coffee, a slice of PB Nutella Pie, and two cookies: one Oreo in a blanket and the other a PB Cup in a Blanket (which are basically chocolate chip cookies with an Oreo and PB Cup inside of them). I've had the pie and coffee before and loved. But the other items are new. I'll start with the McLovin: it's incredible! All the flavors work together nicely. The buttermilk biscuit is nice and fluffy and the sausage is well seasoned and egg was cooked to perfection with some melty cheese! The PB Cup in and blanket was yummy too! A stagger advised I heat it ijnthe microwave for 10 seconds and it was so gooey! The Oreo in a Blanket was also great! I really enjoy Bakeshop and I'm so glad I live really close to one! I've been to the Vienna and Arlington locations and the staff for both are really nice! Quick service too!
