This is one of those patisseries that always ends up on lists of must try. The wife and I had had it on our list for a while now, and we happened to be in the area last week and decided to pick up a couple little treats. We got two tartes, in particular two chocolate ones. A Dailly, the one on the right, and a one possibly called a Java? I don't remember... Probably because it was pretty underwhelming. First let's start with the shop experience. It seemed like such a big shop, so much plastic, possibly due to Covid-19, but it was very difficult to hear it speak with the person behind the counter. It was very loud... For an unknown reason. The people behind the counter were shouting at other customers to come in...it felt like we were cattle. We ate the patisseries when we got home. The only real saving grace here was the Dailly. It has a delicious fruit and chocolate combination, but the other one was just an unmemorable chocolate tarte that could be purchased almost anywhere. We also got a couple of their origin bars. We haven't sampled them yet, but they were priced at only 4€... Which we are kind of skeptical of. Usually a good origin bar is a minimum of 5€ or 6€. But we'll see. I would be interested in trying their pralines too, but that depends on if we're in the area and how the origin bars taste. All in all, unless you're really game to try this spot, I don't know... I don't think you're missing much by giving it a pass. read more
