I visited Pleasant's for the first time last month to purchase some screwdrivers to upgrade my…read morecurrent set (which I've had since 2006 when my grandmother passed, and she likely had the set for 40 years prior to that too). When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and asked if we were looking for something in particular. We were then efficiently walked over to the aisle housing screwdrivers and told about the different options. They were locked in a case, so we would've needed a staff member's help anyway. Apparently people like to steal screwdrivers, which I never would've guessed. Prices seemed fair, but to be transparent, I don't generally buy tools so I don't really know the going rates. Check out was just as efficient with a couple lines in operation. And the cashier was just as friendly as the staff member working the floor. Everyone was properly masked and social distancing was taking place as well. I would suggest supporting this small business and those like it prior to going to the big box stores.

With all of this cooking I've been doing, I thought it would be nice to have fresh herbs at the ready, so off we went. This is the definition of a quaint, local hardware store. The store is much less overwhelming than the big box hardware stores and the employees were SO helpful. I really enjoyed my experience there, which I never thought I'd say about a hardware store. I also enrolled in their loyalty program and got $5 off my purchase today. Score!
