The counter worker explained that I didn't know what they were dealing with and suggested rescheduling. I asked if it would happen again where my appointment time could not be met and he stated he did not know. Although the gentleman was not rude, he was not helpful either.

Most important thing in business is TRUST if you want to grow and have repeat raving fans especially in the auto mechanic industry. I do not think this is a broad Monro Auto issue as I have had great experience working with the manager and mechanics at the Monro Auto on Erie Blvd in Dewitt. They find the best solutions to address the problem while managing costs. If you want to Trust a mechanic DO NOT BRING you car to Monro in East Syracuse by the Walmart. You will wind up writing a scathing review like the rest of us. BTW - this is the first review I have ever written online - that is how pissed i am for them taking advantage of my daughter. I went to this Valvoline Oil Change Location, parked my car outside and walked in to ask some questions. I have had a miserable experience at another quick oil change places and I wanted to avoid a very costly experience. I was able to speak with a knowledgeable and polite customer service oriented person who entertained my questions and gave me no B.S answers. OK, I decided I was confident in their knowledge and skills to do an oil change for my beloved German vehicle. The short story is that I was able to drive in to this location without an appointment, and receive an oil and filter change for $80.00. That is expensive but, my car requires almost 7 quarts of synthetic (expensive) oil, a special filter and , for you gear heads, I needed to know that my aluminum oil pan would not be stripped by an air wrench over torqued drain plug. Dealer price is $120 to $130 plus the wait, appointment etc... Heck, no wait with good service on a foreign car for almost $50 dollars less than dealer price, I'll take that ! BUT, if you have a finnicky foreign car TALK to them first and tell them what you require. I even offered use of my torque wrench. If you have your standard vehicle that takes regular oil and filter, etc... I think you will have no problem for about $25 bucks.

I had an issue during a tire change where they somehow punctured my oil pan. I had to get it towed to a shop that could actually fix this and it cost around 400 dollars. While I was waiting for the tow truck, I spoke with one of the supervisors in the auto area and he informed me they are insured by a company called "CMI" and basically told me "good luck" getting any results with them. He wasn't joking. I emailed this company for months and never received a reply (10+ emails). Every day, I would call and it would ring to the voicemail. Shortly after, I received something by mail telling me if I didn't claim the issue within the month they would be dropping the claim. The one time I was actually able to speak to an operator, I explained the situation and they hung up on me (I'm very friendly and would never act like a jerk to anyone on the phone). I would highly recommend supporting local business and not Wal-Mart who is clearly just trying to cut costs as demonstrated with this horrible insurance company they use.
