I bought my car from carvana and they placed the wrong inspection sticker on my car which led to issues with my registration. i called 9 different car shops asking to get my car inspected and all of them said not until next week. until i called midas. i dropped my car off and only waited about 1 hour for them to be done. it was $21 and i wasn't all too mad about that. the one recommendation i have is for a more accessible mobile check in. but overall easy, and had a nice lounge. read more

Quite literally the worst experience I have had with a car shop. Went into fix my brakes. Got the car back and within 20 miles of driving my brake completely seized. My brake calipers had fallen off due to terrible work, my rims had be completely scraped bc the calipers were rolling around on the rims. Needed a tow truck to drag my car up which resulted in needing a realignment. Overall just overpriced bad work would not recommend this to literally anyone. Would give this 0 stars if it was possible. read more

The guy name Shane was very nasty racist and rude I literally had to bring my male family member back to pick up my truck up and he was even rude to him Literally walked off from us and through my keys down....Not only was he rude and racist comment he gave me an estimate and decided to add an additional $1700.00 on the original estimate just to be spiteful..... as an African American this place seems to only tolerate and deal with people with there skin tone I have reached out to corporate regarding this and honestly Midas will never get any of my business ever read more

They conned me to pay extra money for service I did not need . And after I asked why I needed to pay they say I must because I needed to. When I submitted a claim for insurance they then said I did not have to choose to replace ignition coil and it was offered as an improved performance which I'd a lie any customer would never add 1200 Dollard to their bill to improve performance. They are cons. And the manager was rude a shouting when I asked him to write what he told me that I need to replace ignition coils to fix the car and now he said that I did not need to but I chose to to improve performance. This Midas store #705 at 3240 Erie Blvd East in DeWitt, NY has one of the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. They FAILED my car's state inspection for something the NY DMV Inspection state law allows. I took it to another garage without getting any work done and it PASSED inspection. I am a US veteran of over 20 years and have always received a courtesy discount of 10%. Nothing offered here.. No discounts of any type even though I had an oil change and inspection. They charged me for a tire rotation even though I had the oil change. Stay away from this shop if you don't like getting ripped off! read more

Went there to get my brakes changed. They charged $30 to tell me my brakes need to get changed, no shit. Appointment was at 3, car didn't even go into a garage until after 4. They told me it would cost over $1300. I refused and they told me I should get it towed home. The next day I drove that car to the adirondacks and back and drove it all week. Then I got serviced at Fehlman brothers for $450 cheaper. Don't fall for their big name, they're a chain because they steal. read more

The front manager was very respectful and helpful with my service and was easy to conversate with. The only issue was the long wait time for replacing brake pads and calibers on my vehicle, but they were understaffed and you could tell they were working with on a lot of vehicles and services with the small staff they had. Nonetheless I would come back to them again because they treated me with respect and my vehicle with care and were open and upfront with the cost. read more

I'd been religiously using Valvoline for my full synthetic oil change but it runs about $114 for the full synthetic with the European oil, blah blah blah. Even with the student discount, it runs $100. You get a full courtesy check up at Midas which I really appreciated. Jerry the manager took care of me. He wasn't over the top like I've found most managers to be. Very straightforward. While it took about an hour for the oil change, I didn't mind because it ended up being around $60. He also priced me out for new tires and an alignment in case I wanted to come back. If you get 6 oil changes done at Midas, the 7th one is free. Definitely my go-to spot now! I'm a young female and didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of at all! Also: I think I was accidentally hung up on again but when I called back, I had no issues. They're friendly here, for sure. The mechanics like to talk with customers, and are very straightforward about issues your car might be having. If the people here think you know nothing about cars, they'll try to take advantage of you. With that being said, for inspections, they tend to be very picky. I know cars quite well, and when my car failed here, they went out of their way to explain to me certain parts of my '02 Accord that were marginally worn-out, though still functional. They failed my car because of a ball joint "needing to be replaced." I immediately took it to another place, seeing the ball joint wasn't bad, and the car passed without any problems. They're nice, but no- I won't be going back. They give off a vibe of trying to squeeze every possible penny out of each customer, and that just isn't a business I want to interact with. It's too bad, because I was recommended here by a friend and it's got a solid reputation around Syracuse. My experience was based only on one manager/team, but it's not a place I'll be heading back to anytime soon. read more

We realized the night before driving a few hundred miles that I needed an oil change. We made an appointment for 9:30am the next day and went on our way. We arrived at this Midas at 9:25am or so. We were told it would be about two hours, which is frustrating since I made an appointment. We walked across the street, grabbed some breakfast and looked in a few stores while we waited. It did take two hours. The manager had me come in and look at my car since they do a free maintenance check. He let me know a few different things and I had them replace my wipers as well, which I knew needed to be done. The manager was very helpful and even helped me to find a ten dollar off coupon. my daughter took car into them for alignment.. they thought they had a dumb chick in their shop but our mechanic had worked on her car the day before but he doesnt do alignments so he said go there.. well they tried to say we needed 740.00 worth of work to get alignment and the reality was nothing was needed just an alignment.. we took the car down the road and the guys there took care of her van fine we showed them the bs from at midas and the guys were like they were gonna take advantage of u for sure.. ty for the good place that took care of the alignment ... midas should be ashamed they tried to take advantage of a pregnant girl with three kids... read more

They answer my questions and don't try to do work that doesn't need to be done. Several times they've gone over and above what we would expect from any other shop, because they want to get the problem solved. And the prices are very reasonable. Took my car in to get my tires changed for winter, a front-end alignment and an oil change. When the car was done, I asked the guy checking us out how much air pressure he put in the tires. He looked at me like I was an idiot and replied "Whatever the door sticker said." I explained to him the door sticker was for 17 inch P tires and those tires were 18 inch LTs. They take a significantly higher PSI than the 35 PSI the door sticker said. You don't put air in a tire by what the DOOR says. You put air in by what the TIRE calls for! At a minimum, there should have been 65 PSI put in my tires. He then said, "If you want more air in those tires, there's the hose. Do it yourself!". It's quite clear that he was upset at being challenged by a woman in front of the men in the waiting room. They NEVER put the correct PSI in my tires. This man is a HUGE LIABILITY for Midas. If they routinely disregard proper tire inflation for their customers, and you have an accident it is 100% because of the THEIR negligence. read more
