Growing up changing oil is something I would do myself. But now with limited space and limited time I must rely on someone else to perform such a task. So anytime I go to a repair shop or an oil change center to have routine maintenance performed I know exactly what I want...nothing more and nothing less. It is with this desire that I used Maddy E's and Rob B's reviews to decide to give VIOC a try. And after this visit their reputation, at least with me, as being reliable reviewers held up. Atmosphere - Large two bay garage, small waiting room (if you choose to use), clean, busy Service - Friendly, fast, explained services provided w/out being pushy, attentive, I was in and out in about 30 mins on this busy Sat afternoon Price - Just over $30 out the door (with a web coupon). Overall - A great experience that will have me coming back. Heck, I might even have them change my transmission fluid as it is near requiring a change per the owner's manual. FYI - I only gave VIOC four stars because the Honda dealer I go to is about $10 cheaper...but it is a longer drive. read more

Took our car here on Monday for an inspection,tire rotation and oil change after sitting there for awhile I noticed no one was any longer working on my car. I asked the attendant what was going on and he said that while trying to remove my oil filter a part broke off and was still attached to the old oil filter. He said his manager was working on trying to separate it I said ok I'm gonna go to lunch and come back later he said good it should be fixed by than After returning from lunch he informed me that there was good bad and ok news. He said bad news was that it was still not fixed that the good news is they ordered a part and it would be in Wednesday and the ok news was they could rig it so I could get home and bring it back Wednesday . I said how about I leave it here since I really didn't need it at this moment. He said that would be great that once the part comes in that it would be quick since everything else was complete. He told me that I would not have to pay for the tire inspection and I would get other discounts due to being inconvenienced. I said ok I'll see you Wednesday. I returned on Wednesday to see about my car and was advised that the part was in at the dealership in Moorseville but the manager was at the hospital. I said once again ok and I'll check back tomorrow. I returned today Thursday to see about my car and was advised it was finished and was told that they would ring me up. Once the guy started ringing me up I questioned about being charged for the tire rotation the guy said he knew nothing about that I explained what was told to me and he said that's not what he was told or what the manager told me this morning when he called me. I said what are you talking about no one ever called me once. I asked to speak with the manager and he gave me an attitude saying the manager was not there he was out to lunch and that he was the assistant manager. I advised him I have been nothing but understanding during this inconvenience and this is how you treat a customer you tell them something and go back on your work. I told him I would pay but you have lost a customer. So if you're in the area don't go here poor customer service. I hope the owner sees joe his employees act. read more

Buyer beware! I had my 1 year old, 16,000 mile Subaru Outback serviced here. They drained the transmission and double filled the crankcase. This resulted in nearly $14,000 in damage. To their credit, Valvoline took responsibility for the damage and reimbursed me very quickly. Thus, the two star rating as opposed to one. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

Very disappointed with my service. Unprofessional, eating pizza while changing my oil and not following the valvoline process. I had to ask or tell them to check my air pressure on my tires, check my liquids in which this one guy supposedly checked from downstairs. I had to ask them to check my air filter when they tried to make me pay and go before checking it. Also, they have no clue how to check for my cabin air filter. As far as oil change joints go this is definitely one of them. I prefer Valvoline products but prefer not to pay premium prices for them so having this right up the road from work is good for me. The crew is pretty friendly and fairly quick but a big part of what they do here depends on gravity and the actual draining of oil is kinda the bottle neck... Meanwhile they get (or retrieve) you and your car's vitals amid a flurry of activity checking wipers, lights, fluid levels, filters, other lights and levels, tire pressures, and that sort of thing. The person in charge goes over the check list (they claim I have a leaky tire), confirms understanding (I told the guy they're all leaky), handles the financials (no one asked about coupons), sticks the sticker (wish he'd asked about preferred service interval as I do 5000 on the white truck) and off you go... Signage all over the place says they do vehicle inspections here too. If I still live or work in the area next year we may have a go at that. read more

Approximately 3 weeks ago or so my daughter brought here 2013 sonata in for an oil change like she has done many times in the past. This time when she returned home and parked in the driveway I noticed she had a small oil leak. She returned it, they apologized and set out to fix it which they said they did. Upon returning it back to the driveway she had a bigger oil leak and now an anti freeze leak as well. Being fed up she took it to Christian brothers where they found that they overfilled the oil by a lot and it was leaking out of the seals. They also found that the radiator was now cracked. $1,000 later she has no leaks. Vavoline asked for her name so they can investigate this matter. It has been about a month since they asked and have never heard back from them. Only thing I can say is that the quality of their work has diminished and their customer service is a big stroke job. I moved to this area 3 years ago and this has been my go to location for service. I'm not one to write reviews or surveys. I'm only doing this in hopes of making this location more efficient. I would like to bring up three issues I've had in recent months. One, this past summer I requested an AC recharge and the individual performing the task didnt know how to operate the machine. After 20 minutes of failed attempts I was instructed to come back the next day and someone would be availble to operate the equipment. Two, recently came in for inspection and I was told I needed to purchase wipers or the inspection wouldn't pass. Feeling pressured and cornered I purchased the wipers and asked to keep my old wipers. After passing the inspection and leaving I put my old wipers back on the car because there was nothing wrong with them. Three, in a recent oil change the drain plug was not tightened all the way. I leaked a 1/4 quart on my garage floor over night. I went back the next day and they took good care of me. Cleaned up the car, tightened the plug and topped off the oil. To recap, I won't be returning for inspections or AC recharge. But you still have my business for oil changes. I like this location and the guys are friendly to chat with everytime I'm there. I'm just hoping by pointing things out everything can be more efficient. read more

Went in for an NC inspection. My 2019 Audi Q7 had never had an issue before and had passed 3 previous inspections. This time I was told that the passengers side window failed the tint inspection. All other windows passed. I was told I had to remove and replace the tint and that I had to bring it back to them for re-inspection. I took it to the Audi dealer and it passed inspection without any changes to the tint. Don't plan to return to this shop again. read more

If I could give 0 starts I would! Arrived at this location around 9:30 AM on Sunday October 17th and the all Caucasian staff was blasting rap music with the N word playing very loud!! As an african american woman I was EXTREMELY OFFENDED!! I asked the guy (cannot call him a gentleman....) when did they start playing this kind of music??? I work for a small car dealership in the area and we regularly use shops like this or tire doctor and since the recent staffing change this place has been horrible. The inspector is extremely rude along with the other employees providing piss poor customer service. I was denied an inspection today on a 2005 BMW Z4 they stated it wouldn't fit on their lift, but denied to even trying to see if it would. I feel bad for the people who don't know anything about cars that are going to this place. It's places like these that give a bad rep to other automotive related businesses. read more

He proceeded to tell me the car in front of me( moving into garage as we spoke) would take up too much time and it would be after 6pm, closing time, before they could get to me. Stay clear I have used them in the past and on Wednesday, June 20th my 18 year old daughter took her car in for oil change. Later she advised she was charged 130.00 for a synthetic oil change on a Mercedes but in the past we paid 99. I called and asked how the price went up 30.00 and believe they took advantage of her being a young girl The manager invited me to go someplace and and could not explain how the price of the filter doubled My daughter went there because we had been there together. I now use the Dodge Dealership and pay far less than 130 The manager said I pay for the convenience but I advised him they have a group doing oil change while you wait too. I always go to Valvoline for my oil changes. Unfortunately I was fooled into thinking that the local Halvoline was a Valvoline the last time I was in need of an oil change and had a pretty bad experience. I was able to find this location this time around and headed in around 11am to get an oil change for the miss' car. I had to wait about twenty minutes as both bays were full when I pulled up. It looked like the customers were getting something a little more than your standard oil change though, since I was not in the bay for anywhere near that long. The guy who greeted me was friendly and eventually directed me in. I love Valvoline since they are the one oil change chain I've been to that doesn't make you get out of the car. Yeah, I'd rather sit in my comfy car than in some nasty waiting room that reeks of stale coffee, cigarettes and Chiclets. The service was fast and my car was finished up in under fifteen minutes. While waiting I overheard the customer next to me saying how she had a coupon and forgot to bring it, and the guy working on her car told her they would apply the discount anyway, which I thought was pretty nice. Also, this is THE FIRST TIME EVER that I went to get an oil change and was not offered some other lame service. As far as they were concerned, my oil was done, the tires were full of air, the air filter was clean and all the fluids were topped off. I was so shocked by the fact that they didn't mention an air conditioner recharge (I've heard that one plenty of times) or something else like that. Overall, this will be my exclusive oil change destination from now on. Friendly faces, relatively quick service (as long as you're getting just an oil change), no attempts at an up-charge, plenty of coupons (either print one out off their website before visiting or just tell them you have one at home) and the comfort of being able to stay in your car during the process means this is the place to go. read more

New wipers required with every NC inspection. They failed 3 cars while I was there for wipers (which they will be glad to sell you). Oh yeah and they charge a $10 fee for dealer installed tint( I have never been charged this in this vehicle before) without telling you until you cash out with them . Have been going here for years with my 2 cars. Last oil change I was told my "oil pan was stripped out." They would do a temp fix and next service I would need to go to a "full service place for my oil change." I said "you mean a mechanic?" Again it was said a full service place. I paid and left. It all sounded odd so I called around and was told REPEATEDLY this was the most overtightened bolt and should only be hand tightened and the oil change guy had done it. They don't just strip out. I called back and asked for a manager. They couldn't give me his number but he could call me back. Ok great service there. He talked to my husband and wouldn't do anything. Next in line was the regional something Mark. He had a few conversations with my husband and still wanted me to pay 1/2 of the repair which BTW is a new oil pan install which is 300 plus. I would not agree to this and phoned him back and now he won't call me back. The valvoline customer service called me after I entered a horrible survey and assured me someone above would be in touch. Nope has not happened. I got up yesterday to large amounts of oil on my drive. I had to take it in and now it is awaiting a new oil pan install. Plus I have to pay for another oil change because obviously the oil they put in is coming out and has to be removed to install a new pan. PLUS now I get the luck of cleaning my driveway of all the oil. This place is the absolute WORSE. If you want costly repairs in the future and put on ignore please go here. They will NEVER see my cars again and frankly I will spread the news across the entire Lake Norman area. Shameful and dishonest. Update, so below customer service comments someone will contact me again. I have emailed and spoken to them twice and they kept telling me my pan was worn out. Funny it was definitely confirmed by the person who changed out the pan today that the pan was not worn out and had proof of recently being stripped, PLUS, I posted on Nextdoor and I have at least 3 more people confirming it happened to them as well at same location, beware people!!! read more
