Ok, I finally sat down to write & submit my review! What an amazing experience we had at LKN Auto Repair for our 1st visit. Called on a Monday to inquire about getting my vehicle in for possible needing new brakes due to burning type smell. Santi was able to get us in the next morning at 8:30 am, which was amazing to start with! Upon inspection of our vehicle the next morning, it was not my breaks, but some other issues including a major drive shaft issue they caught thankfully! Here's the part that I find remarkable; after inspecting they came out to us in the lobby & had us come back & look under vehicle with them & gave a complete visual & explanation of issues at hand. Never in my life have I had a mechanic do this. I mean, maybe some do, but not any I have ever done business with unfortunately. Usually they just call & say, "yah, it's this & that & it's gonna cost yada yada blah blah blah" and expect you to go by the good ol honor system & just trust them. LKN was honest, & followed through with exactly the issues disclosed & my 16 yr old suv is purring & happy. Their pricing is on point & 100% fair for such amazing work. If we had gone elsewhere I am positive it may have been almost double or more. On top of all this, when you walk in the door it is nothing but positive energy & kindness in there! Would not recommend. Took my car in to have it scanned. Asked a couple times if that would cost anything which was dodged each time, which I should've just taken it to Advance Auto which does it for free. I will chalk that up as a $60 education. After an extensive wait, because they had to eat first rather then just having me come back later, they were willing to charge me over $600 for a part I found commonly online for $200 and then another $400 in labor, and shop fees to reach $1K. I fixed my own car in 30 minutes and saved $800 from being pulled out of my pocket. Unfortunately, this is common practice in this industry. However, I would either buy your own scanner for $80 or take it to Advance auto where they do it for free and then take it to another mechanic to see what they would charge. Do your research on parts online and see what your comfort level is for paying someone else to fix your car. Understandably they need to make money but not off something you can get for free elsewhere, plus inflating part prices, plus the labor. read more

Andy is honest, quick and upfront--and man, oh, man... he's just a really nice guy. It's pretty cool to already have a mechanic to recommend to people after such a short time of being in town! I brought a car that had all belts replaced, by another mechanic in Hickory, due to squeaking belts at low RPMs and the battery light coming on When I contacted that shop about the squeaking still present, especially in cooler weather, they told me it was most likely a pulley. I was about to take the car back to them, when I decided to look on Yelp. Fortunately I found LKN Auto Repair. I dropped in and explained to Andy what I had been told by the other repair shop. He told me that it appeared to be that the belts were loose. He took the car in and less than 30 minutes later he told me the belts were tightened, the squeaking noise is gone and that the charge is $25. I was quite impressed with his honesty and quick service. These 5 stars are well deserved. Not only do I recommend this business, I intend to bring our other vehicles here when they need repairs or maintenance. There is also a cool little shop next door that has all kinds of deals on a wide range of items from candy to printers to vacuum cleaners. Browsing the merchandise made the time I was waiting on the belt adjustment go by quickly. read more

They tried to charge me for a part I did not want. After me asking a couple of times if it was really installed they finally said no it was not. They removed the price of the part from the bill but still charged me an extra $40 for labor. read more

I was on my way with my sons car to LKN auto repair and it blew up on the way there. I called LKN Auto Repair they sent a tow truck immediately! Seriously was only on the side of the road for 10 minutes before the tow truck arrived and took the car to LKN auto repair. Which is where the mechanics and owners all took their time to work out the best possible solution for this blown up car. i will always take my cars to LKN auto repair as you will not receive better customer service or prices from anywhere else. read more
