This is by far my BEST experience. Service and oil change here at Grease Monkey in Huntersville, NC. I was greeted kindly when I pulled up to request an oil change with my beautiful Toyota Corolla stick shift. I was offered options on which synthetic and some recommendations. I watched the whole process outside which I love. And most importantly the guys are so positive and they were having fun. I love the family vibe at this location. I was thinking about going to Valvoline. But I changed my mind because my last service was with this amazing team here at Grease Monkey, with my last vehicle. Attempted to go during normal operating hours(2:50pm on a Saturday). The doors were locked and lights were off. It appeared that two employees were sitting in the parking lot in their car (white Honda civic with smoke coming out the side window) since they tried to hide when I looked their way after realizing the front door was locked and they were wearing matching mechanics clothing. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION, they lost my business. I've been going to the service station for 5 years, and I would give them 2.5 stars if I could. They are fast and a little pricey, but things come with a trade off. The previous issue that I had was that I arrived 12 minutes before they closed. I was refused service because everyone had gone home and the last guy was locking up. I can understand this, but it still left a bad taste. Most recent issue, this is what I would have expected if it were run well, and they wouldn't have lost my business. 1. I pull up 2. Employee asks what I want and if I have a manual transmission 3. I leave after 3 or 4 minutes because an employee must pull the vehicle into the service bay, and none of the 5 employees could drive a manual transmission. This is an insurance issue, which I totally get. What happened: 1. I pull in and was told it would be 40 -60 minutes in and out, and I agree. 2. The employee(s) told me there was another car before me / move to let more people in, and I had to play musical cars on two occasions because nobody could drive manual. 3. I finally go to move my car to be serviced after 40 minutes of waiting and was told no because an employee must pull the car in. She explained that's what happened to the guy before me, which frustrated me even more. They allowed me and the gentleman before me to wait, probably an hour for him, before they refused service. I wasted my lunch hour, the ability to go somewhere else, and my time, which is important to me. These two things, one minor and one major, will cause them to lose my business. Went in for my headlights bulb replacement and because my headlights was kinda special and they don't have it on site, they have to get in to their other store or such and I waited an hour or two for the other car they were also attending need one to be order. Anyway, I paid 500 something plus for my headlight bulb (HD) and 1 regular bulb. The HD bulb lights on for a sec and died. Because it's near closing time and which I get there 3:30pm. The mechanic doing my truck told me to come back the next day and he will look at it. The next day I came back and the mechanic was not there for they other mechanic on duty that day told me that he left early. The next day I came back and the mechanic told me without looking checking at it as what he said, told me I need a new casing for it's not working! The only one that was not working was my headlight and the others are working but he told me I need a new casing, basically I have to replace the whole light for it's broken without checking and looking into it, just because I already paid 500 something plus for the bulb that didn't work at all which was the reason I went for it to be replaced. I love going into this shop before but their people has gone very unprofessional as time goes by and management won't do anything about you're concerns and such.. read more

Been going to this location for over 10 years. I understand troubles in today's world getting quality employee or even any employees at all. Went there today at 4pm. Three guys sitting in their cars. When I asked if they were open, one told me "they are all 3 on a 30 minute break because it's been a long day" I had the choice to wait, but decided not to. But I don't understand while all 3 had to be on break at same time to shut location down. Common sense would be stagger 30 min, heck even 1 hr, long breaks. Just had an oil change and my car is reading low on the dipstick. Also, the 3 shop technicians could not reset my oil light. I pulled over at the gas station next door and YouTubed how to reset my own oil light. I will not be returning to this location. I had a great experience with Grease Monkey servicing my vehicle yesterday for an oil change. The convenience is amazing as it is literally 3 minutes from my home. The service was exceptional and prompt. I was in & out in under 20 minutes - without having made an appointment. They pulled my car in and while one gentleman was working on the oil change (also topping off my fluids and changing my oil filter) the other fixed the air pressure for my tires, cleaned my windshield and vacuumed my carpets. Grease Monkey failed my truck inspection for streaking windshield wiper blades! The wiper blades are 5 months old. Do not go to this inspection station unless you have NEW wiper blades. They tried to up-sell me blades and when I said I could get them cheaper somewhere else I got failed. I talked to the owner and he would not even look at the wiper blades. I have been going to this oil change facility for years. I went to another inspection station and told them what happened, yes I paid $13.50 again. Needless to say, I PASSED. I can't trust that I will ever get reasonable, honest service at Grease Monkey in Huntersville, NC again. I will not return. Stay clear. read more
