Found so many great bargains here! I went for baby clothes and some of the items were only nine cents! Found two pairs of baby shoes both under five dollars, barely worn, and name brand Keens and baby Gap! On holidays everything is half off and on Tuesdays everything is 25% off. The prices seriously are amazing! Especially when shopping for baby clothes that are just going to be puked on, messed up, or grown out of in a weeks time! There were dozens of workers all around trying to keep things as organized and tidy as possible, but there were so many people here shopping it got pretty congested and chaotic. I like going here buuuut when it comes to their electronics they can be a bit iffy, they don't bother to test them when they are donated or sold, it's a buy-at-your-own-risk type of deal when buying their electronic devices, You do have the option of testing it yourself but when it comes to a heavy tv, nobody wants to haul that all the way to the front just to see if it works and what's bad is that you have no choice but to haul heavy electronics to the front check out because you don't have the option of testing it out where you spotted the particular device you're interested in! For example my grandmother had bought a television there for a great price but when she brought it home and turned it on the television was in bad condition, the buttons were shorted out so badly that you couldn't change the channel nor turn up or down the volume without going to the menu option. When we tried to leave the menu option it would either turn down the brightness or change the language, sometimes when I fixed the brightness on the tv it would go back to being dark once you turned it off and back on again. What's worse is that the staff there doesn't even advise nor offer to check the item, they just ring it up and you assume that everything is fine with it, I came close but I was lucky when I purchased a Nintendo DS from there the downside is that they didn't have any games nor a charger to go with it, it was a good buy none the less but I would have liked it if they had a charger at least. Not all of it's bad though, I managed to buy a really nice big tv from there, just check whatever electronic device you get before buy at the Thrift Store because the employees aren't going to do it for you nor will they tell you if there's anything wrong with it. read more

I go about once a week. I question how they base their pricing as many things are priced higher than what you can buy then new for! Also they need to get an electrician in there to repair the testing outlets. That might increase the sales! I tried 2 things yesterday and no matter what outlet I used and there's 12 double outlets I couldn't get the items to light up. I even tested a clock radio that rarely fail to work and nothing! Do they actually read this? Also you need to inset tape on the shelf front edges telling people not to open the bags. It ruins it for the rest of us. It's really a great place to shop if you know your prices and inspect your item. When I find a distinct Dollartree item for $3.99 I get cranky. Wouldn't they rather sell items at a lower price instead of ragging out a $25 item because everyone knows it's not worth that much? read more

I love love love this place!!!! I bought several pairs of NAME BRAND jeans for work for $1.99. The only down side to this place is that they are VERY busy always. (Oh and if you pay with a card- they will only accept with an ID and that's not a bad thing!!) My family loves this place. I'm an avid reader and I look for my favs at discount stores like Valley Thrift...WOW PRICE ALERT and not the good kind...I went there about 4 months ago and got like 10 books for under $10...just went last week and everything I picked up was at least $1.99 each...so they about doubled in price in a couple of months...NOT GOOD. Will go to some other thrifts instead...I liked Valley because they had bulging books shelves...now the shelves are near empty no matter when you go there....sad. read more

A friend took me to check out this thrift store, and the selection was good. That was the only good thing about this place. I found a water bottle for sale that I wanted, and it had water in it still...kinda gross, but I looked passed it. As soon as I got to the checkout, they kept taking the items I really wanted to buy away from me, saying "it doesn't have a price,we can't sell it." I kindly asked if a manager could just price the items similar to the many other items in the store, and I was told quite rudely, "NO! That's against company policy!" Ok, sooo it is against company policy to sell as many items every day as they possibly can? They told me to come back tomorrow, and the items will be back on the floor, even the item that clearly went with a loom machine I was purchasing that they would not put back with the machine that it CAME with (that by the way actually doesn't even work/turns out is broken...guess they don't check things like that out before selling). The odds of me finding all the items I tried to buy back on the floor the next day would be slim at best (they also refused to get them priced and hold them off the vast floor, so I could just buy them easily the next day), and quite frankly probably not even worth the gas money to go deal with these rude people who very clearly do not care if they sell anything for their company. It's a thrift store for Pete's sake, not a frickin high end department store. *eyeroll* I will never spend another dime at this establishment. There are soooo many better thrift stores in our area with much kinder employees, will stick with them! Attitude and helpfulness make or break a business...seems the employees don't know this or just don't care, so very much not worth my time or money. read more

I've been to many thrift stores all over the place and this is one of my favorites. It's pretty large and they seem to be one of the most organized ones that i've been to. Their shoes are neatly paired and on shelves above the clothes. They have some furniture items, though not usually a lot. On Mondays they offer a 25% discount on total purchase. read more

Has potential to be a fun place to shop. Unfortunately the costumer service is severely lacking. The employees yelled across the aisles and murmured under their breath. A person needs to be a fan of thrift stores in general, or you'll be disappointed. Valley Thrift is currently one of my favorites, I'm near the Fairfield location and it's convenient. But realize going in that you're not shopping in Montgomery, the shoppers and workers alike are not as personable as you may be accustomed to. However, I do find great prices on certain things I'm usually looking for. Pricing can vary widely, probably depends on who's doing the pricing on any given day, but I know that going in and I stick to the prices that are reasonable to me. I've found some real treasures among the junk, and I find it worth my time to pay an occasional visit. read more

I love going to ValleyThrift but can only go occasionally as I live in NC. During my last visit, I bought quite a few items and went to check out. In the middle of being checked out, the clerk decided she had to leave (weird) and then another started to help and then the clerk from one aisle over interrupted his transaction and came over to finish my order but then the original clerk came back. When I got home and looked at my receipt, I saw that I was overcharged $19.99 for an ACC purse, which I did not buy. I am wondering if this was a setup so the clerk could charge me for a purse she got. Next time I will be extremely careful. Would really like to hear from their management team regarding this. read more

This thrift is way about of bounds in pricing. They have used items that have been used from the dollar tree where everything is a dollar. The charge $5 and $6 for them. They want new prices for old cookware that needs to be trashed. If you look really hard you will find a reasonable price. read more

Used to be my favorite thrift store but prices are now ridiculously high for a thrift store. Stuffed animals are sometimes priced as high as retail. Name brand clothing is usually priced high no matter the condition of the article of clothing. Used onesies are now normally $1.99 & higher. You can find new ones on sale cheaper than that. The cashiers are not treated very well by those above them (noticed how they talk to them) so it's no wonder if they aren't in the best mood. I have had a good experiences with most of them anyway. I'll be shopping here less & donating most of my stuff elsewhere. read more

Valley Thrift is exactly what you want from a thrift store, huge selection, clean, well organized, and low prices. They have a ton of shoes and most in very good condition. The furniture selection is a little on the small side but they are constantly getting new things. I have found j crew, gap, Ralph Lauren, banana republic, American apparel, and more. They have a huge selection of housewares, books and other random things. I can always find something good sorting through the junk. I really don't have a single negative thing to say, this is a thrifters paradise. read more

Definitely one of the better thrift stores around here! Everything is very organized but there's a lot of stuff to look through-- come ready to search through aisles and aisles of clothing and home goods. They really have a lot of stuff for a great deal. I've gotten some great deals at Valley Thrift in the past, but have noticed that prices are not quite what they used to be. I almost exclusively shop for kids clothes there; the typical price for a baby onesie now is $1.99, sometimes even more... I can buy a pack of new ones on sale at Target for a similar price! If you really dig, you can often find an awesome deal, but it can take awhile. My new go-to is the 90% clearance event at Once Upon A Child- they're a lot pickier about condition of clothing and far cheaper than Valley Thrift on those days! read more

We own an ebay business that gleans its' merchandise primarily from thrift stores. We are in hundreds of thrift stores every month, from Ohio to California. Valley, which is a FOR PROFIT thrift, is one of the most over-priced stores we visit, and that's saying a lot! Shoes, in particular, are priced ridiculously high. Of particular note is the contempt their employees have for the owner(s). I have had numerous cashiers at different locations look at a price on an item, roll their eyes, and "lower the price" without me saying a word. Other employees have openly expressed their disgust with the owners and their greed. I would not recommend this thrift store to anyone. Take your money to Goodwill or Salvation Army, which are 100% NON-PROFIT. read more

My girlfriend took me to this thrift store for the first time this Saturday. When leaving the store I made sure I could find out if it was on the bus line. I was thrilled to see that bus number 11 goes right there. I will not need to wait for another ride again now that I know that I can get there on my own by bus. I was still digging in my purse for money when the cashier suprised me with great news about how much I owed which was far less than what I had already pulled out of my purse. When I got home my grandkids were thrilled with what I got them now all of them want to go to the thrift store, even the picky ones who think they need to wear designer clothes only from specific high end stores. I would like to brag on one of your employees at the thrift store. Jennifer T. she is the nicest and the most courteous employee. She has always been pleasant, even on the half price days when most of the employees look like they want you to drop dead. It's not a pleasant experience to go in to a store and the employees are not smiling or welcoming. She is always working hard. This is to her manager...you've got a good one there. Absolutely love this place! Can find t-shirts all day for .9 cents! Wondering if open on Memorial Day?

I've had a couple of encounters with rude employees before at this store, but today was beyond the pale. I had picked up a set of surround sound speakers off the shelf (they were loosely wrapped in heavy plastic) and had just finished testing them when an employee claiming to be a manager (she produced no evidence of this) informed me that I would not be able to purchase the item since "I had torn the package open." I protested that I had found the item that way, to which she replied, "Even if that were true, we still aren't able to sell it to you." I gave her the speakers and asked her to tell her employees to do their job - removing opened items from the shelves and properly pricing items (this one is a BIG problem there) before putting them on the shelves in the first place. I then put back everything that was in my cart and left the store. I'm really sad to have to do this, since I have often found useful items here in the past, but my dignity is worth far more than anything in a thrift store and I won't be going back to this one until someone in charge apologizes and formally reprimands the employee who made the accusation. I won't be accused of something I didn't do. Let the shopper beware. read more

I love this place a lot only a few things I think people should know. First thing is that they never have enough carts so if your a mother like me or just plan on shopping for more then a specific item I suggest go early to get a cart or you will be waiting till someone is done shopping. Second thing is you can find some great things for cheap and some cheap things over priced so just check everything out because there pricing is almost like they guess what to put. Otherwise this store is great place for clothes and shoes n almost anything really! You could spend hours in there if u have the time. read more

This isn't normally the type of place I would review, but we go here pretty often and have found it to to be a pretty awesome place! This is a thrift store that does it right, everything is clean, well organized, and priced right. There are some other thrift stores in the area that have a larger selection but are not organized at all (one in particular sorts everything by color and then you have to search every item for a certain size, a real pain!), Valley organizes all of their clothing by type and size, workers are constantly putting out new things and making sure the racks are organized a neat. Other than clothing, they have a large selection of small electronics, limited furniture items, toys, etc., we typically go here for the clothing (young kids grow too quickly to spend tons of money on new stuff!). Also, on holidays they are open and everything is 50% off, a warning though, the place is CRAZY on these days! I like to go just before a holiday as they put lots of stuff out and the prices are low enough anyway without having to wait in lines and fight with people for things. Love love this store! When you don't have a lot of money but need some clothes, dishes, coats, books, bedding etc go to Valley Thrift. I went early on a 50% off sale and got my son a whole new wardrobe for fall/winter including snow boots, snow pants, winter coat, pants, long sleeve shirts etc plus 2 winter coats for me for $20. They have some nice stuff if you can spend some time to really look. Aisles are narrow and packed but its manageable. I found an L.L. Bean heavy fleece jacket I wanted for $4. Great condition. I wanted to order 1 from the company but they cost $70 new. Decent book, cd, dvd, game selection. This is my favorite thrift and I have been to them all. Every Monday is 25% off. I have also repeatedly purchased plates and coffee mugs from here including the kind that isn't easily broken. read more

The place is big and usually crowded. You can find some decent deals, but it smells like dirty clothes and the staff seems grumpy.

Even though they are adamant about no returns, do not throw away your receipts ever. I discovered that a clerk had not taken off the detector on a pair of sandals I purchased in December and when I went to the store to have it removed they refused to do it since I did not have a receipt. Who wears sandals in December and who would keep receipts from every purchase they made when there are no returns. Now I am stuck with a pair of sandals I cannot wear due to the store's negligence. The personnel were very rude and arrogant,acting like the problem was my fault instead of theirs. I would give them a one star rating for being so negligent,rude,and uncooperative.
