This store is VAST and offers some terrific deals if you have the time and patience. Yes, the first language of the employees is NOT English as most of them are homesick natives of places like Honduras, having had to flee their homeland and untenable, frightening conditions resulting from US meddling in their countries. Yes, the pricing is random. It can be noisy. Nevertheless, i am delighted with the bargains I've found there. read more

I could sell the garbage out my trash can for 50% off and you'd find better deals than this place. You'd think when they got to the point of where they're having literal avalanches of items in the back they'd at least try to get rid of the stuff they have. Instead they ask higher prices than new items. Place must have some greedy management. read more

Outrageous prices. $23 for a worn Victorias Secret nightgown? $11 for unbranded, ripped pajama pants? It's insane to charge that much for used clothing, used clothing that you got for FREE! Didn't stay long after seeing those prices. Also, this place smelled bad. Won't be back. read more

The family and I made our way for the first time to the largest thrift store located in Kettering Ohio. When I tell you this place is the grand dame of thrift stores. We spent 2 hours in this wonderful place. Thrifting is some of my family members favorite things to do, so I made sure to make it happen for them. We were in awe at the size of this place. We walked away with some great finds. This place did not disappoint. If you love thrifting, I encourage you to plan a trip and go! I'm confident you will be pleasantly surprised and happy you went! read more

Valley Thrift Store - Valley Thrift Store - Largest Thrift Store in Ohio. - Thrift Stores Near Me - Kettering, Ohio

I was here today and the clothing prices were out of this world! l looked at girls skorts and tshirts and they were a few dollars higher than what i just looked at in a regular store! A t-shirt with a flower on front was like $8.89 and a skort for $14.00. I didnt see a name brand on either. This is just a couple of examples. Also I have yet to get an employee that speaks English nor do they understand it. I did make a purchase for less than $3 with no "thank you" or "have a good day" at all! I have been here several times the past few months with a friend and its always the same! read more

First time there and it was amazing!! Clean, well organized and great prices. Will take a while to get through everything if you're there to do so but I personally love that. read more

Lots of broken items in the hard goods priced $3.99 - $8.99. Dollar Tree items for $2.99 and up. One dollar tree wood item was $10.99??? Christmas items in late March (2025) at Christmas prices. Cheap Easter items - most priced up, broken, dirty. The real draw in this store may be clothing. Saw women buying lots of clothing $3.99 - $5.99 and there may have been a sale. I drove an hour and 15 mins in high winds on the Xway being tossed around... Only to find they are not much different than Valley Thrift Evendale or Fairfield. There are more reasonably priced thrift stores in Cincinnati and Northern Ky with a bigger variety of just everything. read more

Thrifting is an adventure. I have found classic designer's clothes crystal and electronics.

Great deals lots of great finds and the discounts are so worth it! I will definitely be back!

This place used to be a lot of fun but they are now charging $1.99 per pound. So items can turn out to be very expensive. Go to Valley Thrift right across the street. 25% off on Mondays and 50% off on holidays. read more

Big lot, feels like a costco-sized store with rows and rows of clothes. Lots of selections. Clothing areas are separated by gender, then by type of clothing. Found some nice slick jackets and outerwear. Branded items like columbia and north face seem too overpriced for a thrift store. However, Items from Eddie Bauer that are nicer quality and with no defects are priced under $15. Wish pricing didn't vary so much in range. read more

I enjoy it personally...mixed reviews. If you know the tags and are looking for cheap things to modify it is a good option. There is a lot of hoops to jump through for a good price. Literally. read more

I went to the Thrift store looking for some bargains, NOT here...this place is extremely expensive!!! Its a thrift store..these are donations and they wanted $10 for a shirt, $18 for jeans..what the ???? People told me this place was cheap..well I would hate for them to come to one of my local thrift stores because they would have a heart attack on our amazing prices. I know I will never complain about $3.50 for a shirt anymore. The parking lot was big and the store was big, and well laid out. Very organized but a lot of employees just standing around. I wont go back because the prices are too high for my pocket book read more

It's sad that a place which gets all their stuff free from donations, felt it was ok to jack up prices. A hoodie that's normally 3.99 is now 18.99 no joke plain black hoodie Throughout the entire store you'll see it crazy and sad. I no longer will shop here nor donate too read more

The prices are insanely high.Does this place still operate with concerns for Veterans? Have been going here for years, went in today, and walked out immediately. read more

I used to really enjoy coming here, and used to find great items. However, I don't like to go anymore. I rarely find anything, and when I do, it's terribly overpriced for donated items. I'd find used tops for 40+ dollars.. not worth the trip. read more

Shopped here for 2 years. Prices have risen noticeably. Hours posted online don't match reality or their posted hours on the door for sunday. Online says 11. Door says 12. Also-phone #'s that are listed are disconnected. Very frustrating! read more

It's a thrift store that prices like Nordstrom or any higher priced store with new items. There's no proof they actually help veterans, like their pick up trucks claims. Boycotting and suggest you do too. read more

You have to wait 20 mins in line to try on close, but n one of their 2 dressing rooms...seriously?

One of the biggest and most organized stores I have been to. I spent a couple of hours there today and feel like I barely touched the surface. read more

This place is huge. I read mixed reviews about it, but our experience was very positive. Prices seemed good on some things and maybe slightly high on other things. We saw a few things we really liked so we decided to wait until Monday when they had a half off sale. My husband went back and was able to get the items we wanted for half price. On Monday, the parking lot was jammed so be prepared. Normally, parking is plentiful. read more

The environment feels unwelcoming, and whilst one or two employees were kind, most were rude, dismissive, and a bit overbearing. One of them wouldn't give my friend space when she was trying to put her pin in at checkout, which feels rather invasive. On a second, worse note; They staple their tags to the clothing here, and the staples cut my friend on her stomach and her hands. The changing rooms feel uncomfortable and over-policed (they only let you try on 3 items at a time). Edit: I forgot to add, the clothes are overpriced considering how many of them I saw have stains. read more

The company or the owner is getting greedy off the donated stuff. Overpriced items and underpaid employees(I assumed as I read the review). Making a full profit out of $0 inventory cost. I understood there are labor and overhead expenses that need to be paid but imagine with the donated items are priced like you would buy new! They used to be the best thrift store I had seen so far compared to the prices and store management but not anymore! read more

Been a long time customer for years at woodman location but recently I've had several issues with valley thrift before covid prices were reasonable staff friendly after covid ended stores were allowed to reopen prices have gotten ridiculous every thing full retail staff is very rude cheaper to buy new no a pleasant place to shop read more

I was killing time before picking my daughter up and stopped in to see if I could find anything I couldn't live without. Honestly, it was a big disappointment, with outrageous prices on what they assumed was in style. I did find a new Cole Haan large weave infinity scarf for $2.99, score! Otherwise, not worth the time. read more

See all

I went here today. I was looking for shoes. They have shoes down most of the isles but up on top of the shelves. I wanted red shoes so was going down each isle looking for red shoes. Unfortunately I could not find the type of shoes I was looking for. They do have a lot of shoes. They have two isles full of boots. So if you need boots that's the place to look for them. They also have a ton of clothes. It's a cool place to find specific items. read more

This is a very well stocked thrift store. Sometimes the prices seem a bit high, but if you go on Monday, there is a 25% discount which is hard to beat. On holidays, the discount is even higher. They are very organized at the register and the wait is never long. I do wish they were more organized about the merchandise because everything is just thrown on shelves mixed. It would be nice if there was separate departments. read more

too costly for the free stuff they get,Walmarts cheaper for new stuff, think the goodwill was costly VT has them beat

Way overpriced for donated items. Someone's making a killing! If you are a savvy shopper, you could find same prices on NEW merchandise on the clearance racks at TJ Maxx or Marshall's. It's a huge store, overflowing with everything (except not much furniture). There were also many workers and shoppers. None seemed a bit happy. If you find a treasure there it will be like finding a needle in a haystack. After wandering aisles for about an hour, I spent 99 cents. Bought a leather Sak crossbody but most bags were priced ridiculously. Probably won't go back. read more

Very unwelcoming, extremely high prices on almost everything, to the point of being absolutely ridiculous. The woman working at the dressing rooms/ bathroom is very rude. Went through her line twice today, I said "Hello" and then "Thank You" as I left her area, I looked her in the eye, and it was as if I did not exist. There is no excuse for an employee to treat people this way. She needs a job in the back sorting through merchandise, definitely with absolutely no customer contact. She has no skills in dealing with your customers. I am from out of state and I come here every time I am in Ohio. I drove from Chillicothe today, just to come here and shop. It used to be fun, with good deals, and halfway decent employees. That has all changed!! Y'all have gone to hell in a hand basket. Take heed to all of your horrible reviews, you are losing tons of customers!!! Price reasonably and treat customers well, period. I will never return and I will also spread the word with everyone in the area that I know to avoid your business. read more

Great selection and nice stuff. Sometimes the prices are a bit high, but the quality is good and the place seems clean

prices have increased astronomically over the past 2 years. cashier also hit on my wife and made us both extremely uncomfortable

Way to expensive anymore! The last four times I e been shopping here in the past month all the tags are moving up in cost yet the quality is still the same! Additionally despite there are daily color tag half offs they are pulling the majority of those colors back out of the ones sold that day so there is LESS on sale! Cheaper to go to Marshalls or Burlington Cost Factory! I'm saddened! Can't afford to shop here anymore let alone goodwill! Goodwill is now cheaper than the Valley thrift! read more

Valley Thrift Store - Too expensive to shop here anymore and for the last decade this was my spot! It's cheaper to go to Marshalls or Burlington Coat Factory! - Thrift Stores Near Me - Kettering, Ohio

If you're thinking about getting a job here, don't. The "management" is absolutely horrible. They literally treat you like a dog and tell you have you have to be finished with your work in 5 mins. And they tell you this every 2 minutes it feels like. You're not allowed to have ANY beverage by you, not even water. You have to keep your phone in your clean bag if you bring a bag. You get yelled at for talking almost every second of the day. If you want to go to the bathroom, you have to ask. And if you do go to the bathroom, they talk shit about you behind your back and to your face. But they talk shit about you anyways. Women have to wear scrubs and men can wear jeans and a shirt with a collar. You have to park in the very back, and if you don't, they'll take a picture of your car and make you re-park it. All of the prices are literally made up, if you price something too low, they make you redo it so you're overpricing items that aren't worth that price. They tell you want hands to use while working. Because If you use the wrong hand, you're doing it wrong. And if you're too slow, they will tell you, and not in a nice way either. I could continue but hopefully you get the point. This place is a JOKE. Oh and if you get a bag that has bed bugs or bugs or any sort, they just spray the table and that's it. There's no safety measures at all. This place is a sketchy joke. I would give this shit hole zero stars if I could. read more

Shopped here on New Year's Day when it was 50% off. They have 50% off on most holidays. It was quite crowded but I finally managed to get a shopping cart from someone checking out. I really like the variety of household goods available at this store. They have a nice selection of designer clothes also. read more

I have gone there quite a few years now and have noticed their prices have gone up a bit. I have saw things that was half what a new item would be, and if I am going to pay that I will add more and buy new. I have also saw their candles almost double in price around the time of the tornado in Dayton...and they haven't went down. If the prices on candles keep going up I will be buying new. I usually go there knowing what I am looking for and around the price new is, so if it's a deal I grab it...if not it stays. I have also noticed they are just shoving everything on a shelf...half the time it is so crowded you don't want to touch it because half of it will fall. If you can't see it then how can you sell it? read more

I used to love this place it was my go to thrift store but not anymore. Greed has taken this place over overpriced DONATED items. Just save your time and buy new. You might find a good deal here and there but there greed has caused me to lose any interest in the place. I compared prices with online ebay Amazon today and trust me your not getting any deals. Buy new read more

I don't shop here often but I do a lot of thrifting. This place is way too high. They were selling a Victoria Secret bag for $20 when it was originally a free gift. A wedding dress was $350 and an evening dress was $85. Both would have been about the same price brand new at a department store. I'm confused as to why they would mark things so high, when it's donated. when things are so tough, why make the items at a thrift store so high? read more

I'll describe our experience coming here on a late Saturday afternoon in mid-March so you can determine if it's your cup of tea. In short, great selection in clothing categories, more like a yard sale in other kinds of merchandise, staff that isn't terribly helpful with information, and very busy with the trashiest rudest Daytonians. Pluses: Huge selection of clothing. The store is about the size of an old school K-Mart. The clothing selections in all categories are vast compared to many thrifts we've been to. There are two 70-80 foot long racks filled with just children's clothing. The store is extremely clean and most displays of products are fairly orderly and well kept. Prices are low to sort of expensive for a thrift. I picked up a Columbia Sportswear men's jacket that would retail new for $150+ and it was priced at 14.99. They seem to price according to some notion of market value of the original item and not at across-the-board giveaway prices as some thrifts do. On the other hand, a no-name light poplin men's jacket was priced at 1.99. Both items were not obviously worn but felt like they'd both made quite a few trips through a washing machine. Housewares, knick-knacks, kitchen items, and odd stuff such as low end consumer cameras, from old 35mm point and shoots to even a very scuffed up Nikon digital model from the early 2000s are displayed randomly along tables that line one outer wall of the place. Appliances and home electronics such as phones, radios clock and otherwise, stereos, DVD players, etc are mostly old, worn, dingy and uninteresting. Almost none of the electronic or photo gear looks clean and most stuff is well, well worn. I saw absolutely no "gems" or treasures in the store such as vintage electronics, really nice older dish sets, photography gear other than aforementioned discount store amateur stuff, etc. The main issue I have (and this was partly due to arriving on a Saturday) is the customers: mostly lowlife, not nice at all in general, and quite rude. Coughing, pushy, constantly forcing us to stop our walking dead as they'd dart in front of us to get at something. My wife was giving me pissed looks as other customers were physically pushing around us in not that narrow passages. I kept telling my wife in a voice that I hoped could be heard by others "It's just how Dayton is" or "that's how Dayton people act." I told her I hoped to get my ass kicked if I did this enough. :) She was so uncomfortable with the scene that she took her purse out of the shopping cart and wore it tightly against her. We won't go back for a long time because the element that shops at this place made us genuinely uncomfortable, and the selection and merchandise really isn't good enough to compensate for that. read more
