They have become more pricey then im willing to pay for thrift store items. Really have to look hard for a good deal .

Selection. Products Customers do help each other when picking through bins. For the most part, value is " give or take". Paying $1.99 per pound for some things can be a price too high. For example :a rug, or safe or kitchen counter appliances. Some of them need to be priced separately. Another downfall is , I believe, they need to throw away the "trash" in the bins. I'm not sure how they purge the bins that go to the back but that's my opinion, otherwise I do love the place better than the others in Ohio. The CHARITY known as Goodwill no longer has any Good or Will. They have become big enterprise of corporate greed. Prices have tripled at this Goodwill where purses used to be $1 now they are $3 and the same with the price per pound. The Outlet is the last stop before the LANDFILL they should be giving stuff away at that point. Staff were tired...probably from taking the brunt of corporate swindlers. I will no longer support any of my Goodwills my spending my money or donating my goods. I'll put it on Facebook and set the boxes out for free or just throw it away- which is where 90% of their stuff winds up anyway either sold and stored overseas or dumped in the landfill. The whole time I was there they were using a crusher to destroy merchandise because the sound of glass breaking was deafening. Items they cant sell at their premium and refuse to GIVE AWAY get destroyed and sent to landfill. DO BETTER GOODWILL you're supposed to be a CHARITY not Walmart. read more

You can and will find everything here- and at the lowest, rock bottom price. I'm in an active addiction state with this Goodwill store because every day it's a different store. There's always a little bit of furniture- this week I found a vintage Cushman desk (1940's) for only $15! Also this week: 2 Kate Spade bags in excellent condition, a pair of like new Birkenstock sandals, a never used vintage LLBEAN book bag, a Ninja all-in-one cooking system (replacement lid needed) retails at $249, paid $10! My second time in an outlet (this same one). Last time I was here it was over ten years ago. Just like I remembered it. I was grossed out the first time when a friend took me. This time I knew what to expect and it's exactly what I remember. It's not a normal thrift store. It's like digging through a junkyard. No one expects it to be that great. I found a nice grow light LED and paid $2.30 for it. Mostly junk as other reviews say. But if you know that going in... then it's just what I wanted. Basically, for electronics enthusiast or crafters or makers, this place might be a good stop before buying an expensive part. So long as you know what parts come from what products. For instance, there's useable parts in printers, power supplies and other toys they have there. 1) do bring gloves 2) expect to be digging through trash 3) don't expect to find great stuff in great condition 4) don't take things personally I personally didn't see people being rude last time or this time. If you want to see a gathering of the dregs of society ala Black Friday pre-Internet, please visit this outlet store. Unlike regular Goodwill locations, nothing is priced at retail. It comes in bins for wholesale prices (xx pounds for xx cents) and it's a warzone as a result. Between the families with 10 kids trying to dig through the bins to the resellers yelling at you if you step more than an inch in their direction to the employees who stand by and watch fights break out, it's a prison. If you want to watch hordes of people fight over a shirt that cost a penny, feel free to visit this dump. For the rest of us who prefer our sanity, just go to the regular Goodwill or shop clearance sales. read more

Think,.... "last chance before the landfill" when you dare venture to this massive recycling center. Its all the "worst of the worst" junk that could not find a person to purchase it at a regular Goodwill store. The store is totally unorganized and every item from a broken lamp to board games with all the pieces missing is heaped onto large blue sorting bins. The merchandise (one mans junk is another's treasure) is sold by the pound, for those that cant seem to get enough of a bad thing. The store does deserve some credit for finding a place for this stuff before it gets scrapped, and it helps people in need with the proceeds. There is a computer section of the store that has motherboards, monitors, sound cards, and many cables organized and binned for easy navigation, this is a sectioned off part of the store and almost like a hospital clean room in comparison to the rest of the store. I've been to many Goodwill locations and this one is my least favorite. I only go to this one if i'm looking for furniture. They usually have a large selection of furniture, however everything else is thrown into plastic bins and people have to dig through the bins to find stuff. There is no organization at all. There are shoes, blankets, coffee pots, kid's toys, home decor & more all thrown into bins on top of each other. Most of the time stuff is broken from being smashed on top of each other. They actually encourage you to bring your own gloves while digging throughout the bins due to broken glass and things. read more

A pickers paradise. Lots of everyday regulars making a small fortune picking here. You can get everything from vintage clothing to Louis Vuitton purses. Vintage stereo, cameras, and lots of toys are found everyday. Plus don't forget the gold and jewelry you can find here. This place can change your life and make a difference! Some pickers work it 8-10 hours a day. The non regulars probably are somewhat annoyed by what they perceive as aggressive behavior by the regulars. It can be like a mash pit at a concert. So if you are annoyed by loud and pushy people, you should probably go else where. The employees are great! They have wonderful experienced cashiers who know people by names. You feel like they know you. The management team while some may feel they are loud and non caring are actually just the opposite. They do their best to investigate situations and keep people happy. They appreciate their regular customers and rarely discipline their clientele(by trespassing them). It can be difficult to keep the many nationalities and diverse clients happy. They are to be commended for their dedication and longevity in their duties. The floor employees are also very nice. They've never been out of line with shoppers that I've witnessed. Other than saying "don't touch". The facility is cleaned ongoing. The employees are on top of any hazard or uncleanliness. Feels like a war zone. Employees disrespect customers and treat them poorly so the customers do the same. I miss the prior management that made this store feel like a special place to find great deals. It's just not fun anymore. If customers were out of control, they should have simply restricted those customers and the rest of the shoppers would enjoy the experience instead of treating everyone like animals. The other reviewers are correct that this is NOT your typical thrift store. You have to be willing to dig. Wear some gloves and get in there. I have found antique radios for $4 dollars that sell on ebay for $65 - $100. I've gotten lamps, picture frames, shelves, etc. Not every trip will produce items like these, but you'll never find them if youd don't look! There are a ton of items like Christmas ornaments and decorations that are in great shape, some even still in boxes that since they don't weigh much will cost you a nickel. They have a large selection of books, and I personally enjoy the vintage cook books you can find. If you are on a fixed income, or just like to dig for deals this is a place for you. I'm not one of their "hardcore" shoppers, but I like to skim the bins and see what I can find. The hardcore shoppers are very protective of their carts, they wear thick gloves, and they are on a mission. So don't touch any carts, even if they look unattended. I've been yelled at a few times by fellow shoppers for even moving their carts out of the way. LOL It's definitely an experience, but I love it! read more

I love the bins....started going to the one in Seattle when I was living out there....moved to Dayton a few months ago and was super stoked to find out there was one here....you never know what you might find but that's why it's fun....if your looking for a certain item it's prolly not the place to go.....but if you want to kill an hour and look threw random stuff it's a blast......we always find a few random things there every time.... If you've got the time and more importantly the patience you may find what your looking for. I came to look for a picture re to hang over a crack in the wall until I get it fixed. $15 and 20 minutes later I was the owner of a satellite image map of the earth. I got home to find out it was originally hanging in a study at Yankee Trace! (Info written on back of picture that I hadn't noticed at first.) The place is pure chaos. There are a number of aisles created by huge bins of unsorted donations. The warehouse is also lined by the bins. There are a few sections where items have been sorted. Might as well call it a garbage dump. Items are not hung up neatly on racks or put on shelves for easy shopping. Everything is thrown in bins on long tables helter skelter. This brings out the true animal in people. Just navigating the aisles is a risk. People are picking up items and throwing them aside to get at items underneath. Any move to get in and try to look for items puts your safety at risk. There are a few old furniture items and a small books area. The rest is in the bins. No appliances of any kind. Some folks seem unclear on the concept. If you want sorted and organized, go to a regular Goodwill store. These are not just picked over goods from other stores as many donations come directly here. Most items are sold by the pound (79 cents generally, though books are cheaper and shoes and clothing more expensive.) it is an incredible treasure hunt and there are great finds to be had. Watch for broken glass and rancid Avon, though. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but for many the Goodwill Outlet is a terrific treasure hunt. Having been to Outlets in Missouri and Indiana, this is definitely among the best! read more

This is my local goodwill and I was surprised it has been over three years since I have ever stepped foot inside. I am a crafter, aka, hoarder, I mean skilled and dedicated paper lover. I used to design for companies but now I strictly find my "junk" and revise it to fit my needs. This Goodwill affords my interest with books, craft supplies, linens. Records, holiday, jewelry and more. If you are here to find cool vintage items, it might be a struggle. The items are mostly newer and in better wear. This is why the store smells and looks cleaner in my opinion. Currently for the pandemic, they have hand sanitizer set up in front door areas for those wanting, tape placed at register for distancing space but I didn't see anyone counting people. The store is heavy on clothes. Short on my home goods area, but I pop in to see if they have a roll of wallpaper or ribbon mostly. I like that a roll is $3 and I can use for book covers. I usually find a few in the bottom bin. The household linens are few. I have found some mini 45's and a great gardening book. Most of the jewelry is new and hanging in packaging. I think most of the reviewers miss the point of this store. Correct: it is the last chance before the landfill. Correct: It can be grimy and depressing for the glamour thrifters. If you are not a picker and are looking for something specific, you're in the wrong place. I have gotten, many, many, useful items from this place. I once bought an old round lamp table for $2, refinished it and sold it on etsy for $150 on etsy. It's all about what you're looking for. A lot of people make a lucrative living buying the 'junk' polishing it off and selling it at an antique store to people just like the people who down this place. I could go on and on about the treasures I've found here, even just for personal use. I love a good treasure hunt, so I love the place, but it's not for everyone. I've got to be honest, I went into this bin diving experience with very low expectations. After all, it is Dayton, Ohio. And, although I didn't find any major scores, I must say that this is the most organized, best managed, and most civilized Goodwill Outlet that I've been to (and I've been to more than I care to admit). My only gripe would be about the quality of merchandise; but, again, it is Dayton, Ohio. Be prepared to rummage through loads of junky, dumpster-worthy things and piles of frighteningly large and heinously unstylish clothing. I definitely prefer the regular ol' Goodwill we're all used to. Or even better yet, Village DIscount Thrift Store or Valley Thrift Store across town. This place had that thrift store smell, for sure. This is not a regular Goodwill by any means. Take all the junk that doesn't sell at a regular goodwill, add stuff too broken to even put out, dump it into giant bins and you have the goodwill outlet. The only reason to go here would be the decent selection of furniture, and computers. The computers are cordoned off into their own area. The place is filled with people just sifting through junk before it goes to the landfill, save your time and go to Valley Thrift across the street. read more

This place isn't for the faint of heart, nor it is as bad as some of the other reviews make it out to be. This is a store for patient people who don't mind looking through junk to find a good deal. The store is full of bins that rotate every half hour to hour. Beware of the professional guys who just grab and toss stuff-- you don't want to get whopped by whatever it is they are throwing. But if you tell them to back off, they will. The other day I spent a few hours looking for clothes and found SEVERAL name brand things (Hollister, Amierican Eagle, Aeropostle, Charlotte Russ) that I took over to Platos Closet and money off of. They sell everything by the pound, and the more you buy, the lower the price. I think clothes can get as low as $0.59/lb if you get over 50 lbs. My dad found a really nice bowling ball for $3.00. And my husband found 7 Star Wars books just out of the blue. Now, we didn't go looking for anything in particular (that's key), but just for fun. You never know what you'll find. If you like flea markets, garage sales, thrift stores, or rummage sales- then you'll probably enjoy this place. If you're a person who wants a regular store atmosphere, just stay at home. read more

We frequent this store. Yes it is chaotic, yes there are some shifty characters waiting to soft out the brass and copper for scrap but if you are into up cycling, finding things for costumes and things like that this place rocks cuz you pay by the pound. Can I also mention I found a $225 antique dresden crystal lamp at this place for $6 So there are some treasures to be found but you must be brave, and be sure to bring gardening gloves! I am an artist and I make costumes so this place serves a very special purpose in my life. Finding things I can rip apart to turn into something else! read more
