It's so nice to live in a community where people try to take good care of other people! They have a dressing room. The store smells clean. The clothes are clean. The people are nice. What more can I say? They also have some housewares and shoes, purses, belts, etc. They also carry some coats and some fancy dresses. I don't feel like I can waste any money here. Even if I don't end up loving something I purchased, I know my money supported a worthy cause, so I just re-donate the item and go back to shop another day. Most of the clothes available are for women, but they have mens and childrens' as well. Unlike some others thrift stores, you can actually get quite a bit here with "twenty dollars in my pocket".

Which helps in turn fund the Food pantry, emergency funding and Parish Nursing.

I snagged some floral, Ralph Lauren pants and my husband picked up some really great neutral colored shirts and crewneck sweatshirt, barely worn if at all. I've also done my fair share of donating. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a break on your taxes! Save your receipts and you can write them off!

With over 80,000 square feet of space and more than 350 unique vendors, Antiques Village is one of the largest antique malls in the region, located on Lyons Road in Centerville. My partner, his family, and I stopped by last Sunday at this very well-organized establishment. One can see the dedication of the vendors to bring in quality pieces and fair prices. Easily the biggest antique shop some of us have been to yet, which we can recommend.

I took this as a challenge to treasure hunt for affordable items that were in good shape. We found 2 matching lamps for our bedroom that were $19.99 each & they even had working bulbs. I got my son a pair of Levi Strauss jeans for $4.89. We also bought 2 jarred candles that had never been lit for $2.99 each & a mint green wicker basket for $3.99. I'd say we scored! We'll shop here again when in the area.

When we pulled in I realized it was 2 minutes to their closing time, so I thought I'd just pop in for a quick look and come back another day. The door was still unlocked so I entered and said I realized they're about to close and I just wanted a quick look. The proprietress said, "Oh you're fine, take your time." Stars awarded immediately. This is a tightly packed shop with a little bit of everything - books, magazines, tapes, games, clothing, jewelry, wall decor, glassware, knick knacks and those things you never knew you needed. They have a member card where you get a punch each time you spend $10 and after 10 punches you get a $10 coupon. I was amazed to learn they've been in business five years and I never noticed the sign. I bought a little game for a couple of bucks. I really wanted to slowly go through all the books, since they are in no particular order and ya never know what you might find; but husband was impatiently waiting in the car so I'll be back another time. The saleswoman and I had a laugh about those situations. Don't miss this neat little store.
