As soon as you walk in the door and are greeted by someone's twisted explosion of creativity-- an old player piano turned into a planter/fountain with water flowing from the top to the keys to a kiddie pool below, you KNOW you've stepped into another dimension of kitch!! This place is sooooo well organized, with one side of the (huge, former supermarket) devoted to furniture, the middle a million and one kitchen things, a MASSIVE book, dvd/video and music section, and clothes that just go on forever!!! I felt 1% guilty, I suppose, for spending as much time as I did here today (one of the first BEAUTIFUL sunny days after a looong, cold winter) but this place is CRAZY good, and I left with some real treasures, a few more beautiful pre-spring hours of daylight left, and PROMISES to head back SOON!! I got a 1955 (Jetson's era meets 1930s art deco) electric coffee maker in mint condition (with all the parts) for $35!!! Sure it wasn't cheap, but it was totally worth it! $22 seems to be the number of choice for most jewelry and accessories (which I found to be slightly overpriced). Great music played loud but didn't bother me one bit, in fact it added to my overall enjoyment and experience of the shop. Great selection of authentic broaches and jewelry. Limited bake-light and lucite items though the few they DO have are priced fairly. Best part is by far the antique household items. Large selection of records with Lou Reed having his own section! Dressing room is the restroom. Restroom is small, dingy, dirty but again, works with the vibe of the place so it didn't bother me. It felt kinda like a live art museum where you can pick things up in one place and then leave them in another. Everything was scattered around and mixed together so it made you really have to look and interact with the space. I had a fun time. It felt like an artist date!

Additionally they have housewares, decor, seasonal items, jewelry, toys, and a small selection of books. They run a food pantry on certain days out of here as well but that does not affect the rest of the store. The staff are all volunteer and they do a good job. Sometimes you may need to exercise some patience. I like to browse here from time to time as I might score somewhat really good; it supports a good cause; and it is not Goodwill Incorporated.
