This is the first time I've used this consignment shop, and I won't do it again because of the customer service. I brought in 6 nice dresses (purchased at either Macy's, Lord & Taylor, or Lillian's Bridal Shop) and when I asked for a receipt the woman brushed me off and stated the items would be entered into my account and walked away. At the end of my consignment contract, I called the store and was told that none of the items sold but that I could request a statement in January for tax purposes, which I did. When I received the statement, it showed that only 3 dresses had been donated, not 6. When I called asking about the other 3 dresses, I was told that they had been priced under $100 and had gone beyond the consignment period which is 60 days. She further explained that they had remained on the floor and that they had sold but that Loralie's got to keep the money. Hmmm, yes, that does follow the consignment agreement...just doesn't feel right on a customer service level. So, for me it was a lesson learned. Next time I'll donate to Goodwill. read more

Loraliei's Boutique is yet another business I've been meaning to try out in my first two years living in DAY. Clearly, I'm slacking! Located right off the main drag in Centerville, you might drive right on by. Loralei's is located in one of the cute historic homes off Franklin, parking is in the back but you can get to the parking lot if you come in from Panara's back lot too. Enter Loralei's from the front entrance. Loralei's only consigns, and what a good job they do! This is very "boutique", clean and fresh smelling and looking! I felt like I was in a posh boutique in a larger city but with great prices. There are some lovely vintage items if you look. A room full of FUR coats, stoles and I was in HEAVEN. Sorry to you fur-hating people, I'm a classic girl and like fur. I even spotted an old Higbee's label on one of the furs which made me smile. Upstairs is where most of the clothing is located. Loralei's is easily navigated by brand, color, and item. They had a nice selection of dresses and finer gowns, lots of fun skirts, jackets, outerwear, shirts, sweaters, and workout gear. Almost everything I picked up I felt was priced reasonably. While nothing stole my heart on this visit for purchase, I did try on a few things and will be back - perhaps for that super cute, short, flippy polka-dot skirt. read more

This store is so fun. I was visiting from out of state and wanted to find something special to bring back to my daughter. The selection was amazing and the prices on designer clothing and accessories were so reasonable. I was able to buy my daughter a darling Louis Vuitton wallet for a fraction of what it would cost new. The store clerks were helpful and nice and made shopping here a delightful experience. There was so much to look at.. all kinds of designer handbags, jewelry, lululemon workout clothes and brands like Free People and Chico's and so much more. All the items were in excellent condition and displayed attractively. I can't recommend this store enough! read more

My experiences have been just fine the times I've been in. There's a nice selection of high end designer items including Valentino, Gucci, Chanel and Vuitton. They have quite a bit of St. John. While SJ is not my style, if that's what you're looking for, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The staff I worked with was kind. The lady on the jewelry side of the store was extremely helpful and friendly. They have a large selection of handbags, few high end but plenty of mid range/Coach bags. They also carry more moderate priced brands like J.Crew, Banana Republic and the like. Definitely worth stopping in. read more

I had a great experience! I lost a bunch of weight the past year and it's become really expensive to keep buying new clothes. I recently discovered this small business and decided to try it out. I came on the right day too because they were having an extra 50% to make room for their fall and winter stuff. I got a super adorable, good quality Ann Taylor skirt for $6 !!!! Wow! The staff was helpful and answered all my questions! Make sure to check the up stairs! They have lots of cute dresses! Can't wait to come back and fill my closet up with designer clothing! They look so good, you would think they were bought at a regular retail store ! read more

For shopping: 4 stars. Designer items and pricing will make you walk away feeling you scored. Though, it is extremely hit or miss. Main stream items are clean with minimal wear, also a pretty decent selection. For customer service: One star. Heaven help the customer that gets Barb, and the poor owner has No idea how many customers that lady turns off from being repeats. The other ladies are generally nice and helpful, but like most women, you can catch them on a bad day occasionally. For consignors: 2 stars. General merchandise, fine. Designer items - again Barb can strike. If you shop in there and then consign, it will make you believe they have their "favorites consignors." Because extreme vintage designer will be priced better than what they suggest to you for recent Tory Burch. Also, the questions on how much you paid seem so intrusive and unfair for pricing, that shouldn't be the guide for pricing - MSRP should - just like they do for the owners "liquidated" lots. So, basically if your hoping to recoup or make money, not gonna happen. But, if you are looking to scale out for profit, they're pricing is better for the consignor than some other area stores. read more

The most horrendous customer service I've ever experienced. Shopping trips Loralei's used to be a staple of my visits to my mom's home, but after the last two times, I doubt we'll be returning. We were never greeted when we entered the store, never asked if we needed any help, and were brushed off when we asked for a fitting room ("That's a bathroom." Well ok, then. That's not what I asked you, but fine). The icing on the cake was checkout - while handling our sale, the saleswoman was on the phone with another seller arguing about pricing. She handled the whole transaction without verbally acknowledging us, only reaching out her hand to take our merchandise and our money. The only break she took in her conversation was to stare at us, bewildered, as we waited at the counter for a "thank you." Maybe it's time to shop at the non-consignment stores in Centerville from now on. We don't really need to deal with grotesque attitudes just for the pleasure of buying other people's clothes. Two stars solely for the fact that I found a cute pair of shoes at a decent price. However, that's more of a compliment to the original owner than the store itself. read more

Recently I stopped by the boutique to shop and sell some merchandise. I was optimistic to shop for some designer clothes based on the great reviews I read online! The employee took 3 Coach bags for consignment and I shopped around but could not find anything I liked. There was a very small selection of designer stuff but the rest was not designer brands or was very outdated. The next day I got a call that I needed to come back and pick up one of the Coach bags because they decided they could not sell it. The manager Barb was extremely rude on the phone and hung up on me at the end of our phone conversation. I had to drive back to the store which inconvenient from where I live. Based on the poor selection of merchandise and hassle of consigning items, I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I took items to Loralei's yesterday, 3/21/13, to consign. I arrived at 4:07 pm. With my pile in hand, I was stopped at the front door by an incredibly rude woman, who told me that consignments stop at 4 pm and she was already behind. Then she shut the door in my face. I took my items back to my car, went back inside and collected money owed to me for previous sales. My consigning days are over at this store. The ego of the hideous employee was too much to bear. read more

I LOVE this boutique. This is my go-to for retail therapy, I have never walked out of this store empty-handed. The prices are low and sometimes there's additional discounts! The ladies who work there are very helpful when asking for assistance and I'm usually greeted right as I'm walking through the door. I've been to other consignment stores but the quality of the clothes, shoes, and accessories Loralei's takes in are much better than the rest--and you do not feel as though you're in a consignment store at all. The boutique itself is very cute and classy inside--everything is organized so it's easy to find whatever it is your looking for! read more

What a charming consignment store disguised as a boutique! It's also the best kept secret in Dayton. the sales staff was very nice and helpful and I got some great bargains. I visited when there was a special event going on in the center of town and the place was hopping! They even gave an extra discount that nite. LOVED IT!!! read more
