Can't say enough GREAT things about Dr. Gray and the staff at Valley Pediatric! My 12 year old son has been a patient there since he was a baby; we began there during the first year of Dr. Gray's practice in Minden. Even though he only sees us once or twice a year, he always remembers us, and is so warm and personable, and never talks down to my son. My son has always felt comfortable going to Dr. Gray. From the TV screens with kids movie's on the ceiling, to the prize box, fun decor, and large open room where moms can sit right next to their child, it's a great, non-intimidating atmosphere for even the littlest ones. Additionally, my son had a bad gag-reflect early on, and we made the staff aware of it. With that, they would take extra care using tips and tricks to get what they needed done in his mouth without making him too uncomfortable. One time, after a few failed attempts at an xray because my son was getting gaggy with the forms in his mouth, Dr. Gray himself came over, sat in the xray chair with my son on his lap, quickly holding the forms and in a manner that would get an acceptable xray without pushing them too far back in my son's mouth -- he was so quick with this that my son didn't even have time to think about gagging. And, in fact, my son felt extra-special from the personal treatment from Dr. Gray. Even though 3 years ago we moved to Reno (an hour away), we keep coming back to Valley Pediatric because we love them so much! We were one of Dr. Gray's first patients when he moved here and opened the practice. We were both shocked and sad to see Dr. Gray move on without any notice however we LOVE Dr. Parsons!!! She stepped right in and didn't miss a beat! She was friendly, kind, gentle and most of all very personable with my children! Melinda and Jessica are also extremely accommodating and very pleasant to work with! I HIGHLY recommend this practice!! read more

I am not liking this pediatric office. The assistants cannot even smile and look like they are bored with their jobs. You are working with children make them feel comfortable and at ease. If not, please do not work with children. The dentist was rude to my son who was scared and kept telling him that she has other patients to see. What doctor says that to a 6 year old child???? Customer service starts at the front, which the ladies up front are friendly, but the dental assistants in the back cannot even put on a smile and just look like Eeyore. read more

I honestly can't say enough positive things about everyone here. I've been coming here as a patient since I was 7 years old. Now, being 20, I no longer can. But, everyone who works here has been nothing but kind and caring. Dr. Grey has since retired, and I miss him dearly. Wonderful dentist for children. We love Dr. Gray and his staff. I've been taking my now 10-year old son there since he was 3 years old without anything but good experiences. My son loves going, he even bugs me between appointments that he'd like to go. Even pulling stubborn baby-teeth has been a breeze! I, myself, have always had a fear of going to the dentist and I'm so happy my son has a completely different experience to start out his life. Billing nightmare!!! Rude support staff, unwilling to bill properly. I have two different types of insurances for my children, and for a basic cleaning they could not figure out how to get the insurance billed correctly. When I was contacted by the office support staff was rude and unwilling to Reconnect with the insurance agencies to get this cleared up. I called my insurance companies myself and was told it was handled, all the Dennis office had to do was to resubmit the bill with the proper billing information- they did not do this, instead they turn you into a collection agency. Dr Todd Grey came in after work to check on my son who had his teeth knocked loose by having a horse roll over him. He secured his teeth and got the other Dr Grey oral surgeon to look at my sons dislocated jaw after hours. Washoe Medical center did nothing for these issues for my little boy. They set him up so he lost not one tooth and got him comfortable. We have been going 2 or more times a year with all my kids until they no longer can fit in the chair! He and his staff love children and have gentle kind hearts! They have a fun office too! The kids watch movies on the ceiling and they are so gentle the kids forget they are getting their teeth done! We have been going to Dr grey's office about 8 or so years. I wish we could have him for a dentist forever! He does excellent work as well!!! read more

I have waited 3 months to write this review to insure my emotions were removed as much as possible. We had an unfortunate experience with Dr. Gray. My oldest daughter has a tremendous fear of the dentist which he knew from our previous visit that had went well, but her teeth didn't get fully cleaned in order to give her an ok experience. When we returned for the 6 month appt. She did the cleaning fine, but she started to squirm and panic at the exam. This was his reaction...(not so gently putting his tools down, stood up from his stool), he said you are too old to act like this..this is ridiculous, get up your done. I can't work on patients that act like that. Then he quickly left and went to his office. The sweet assistant whispered sorry to me. I gathered my 3 children, paid $90. When I arrived home I had realized who actually had the temper tantrum, the trained pediatric dentist. I called back and asked for a refund. They did return the payment and proceeded to write a letter to let us know we were not welcome there, which any mother with common sense would not take their children back to that experience. Thankfully we have found a new pediatric dentist that has patience and grace for my kids. read more

We had made an appointment for our 2 year old to have his very first dentist appointment. The appointment was made 2 months in advance. So the day comes and we are there ten minutes early. Since my son was sleeping in the car, I left him with my husband while I went to check in and fill out the paperwork. The lady at the front desk said I could go and get him...I am assuming since it is now our appointment time that we will be seen.....15 minutes pass and I watch two families come in with 9:30 appointments(they are late) go right in. I go ask the lady at the desk if I am mistaken and our appointment is not actually at 9:30. She says it is but since we are a new patient they like to have the rooms nice and quiet for a first time visit...OK no problem...still waiting and it is now almost 10:00 and I witness two more patients be taken in right away. I again approach the girl and she says oh we already have another new patient in the back so it will be a bit longer. At that point I decide to leave and let her know we will not be coming back....I understand waiting but watching everyone else go in when they first arrive is unacceptable when I was early to our appointment. She made no effort to even try to get us back into a treatment room...Super bad customer service...and she didn't say a word when we left. Needless to say, I will be looking for another dentist for my little one. read more

I'm sure that Valley Pediatric Dentistry was at one point the place to take your children for their dental needs. I would highly discourage anyone from taking their children there after the experience I had. My children had their first dental exam there, and it was a wonderful experience. The doctor that they saw was great with children, but he is unfortunately no longer working there. He had no problem making my kids feel comfortable, and the whole exam from start to finish went well. He was great because he had a way with children, the same can't be said for Dr. Heather Parsons. She's a bully! My young son had just awoken from falling asleep in the car and was hesitant to lay down for his exam. Before I could even speak with him about it, Dr. Heather Parsons came over and grabbed him and forcefully told him to look at her... I had never met her before, and could not believe how she was speaking to a child. The whole reason behind taking your children to a pediatric dentist is because you feel that they will be patient with your child, not be mean, pushy and rude. My son wouldn't even look at her, and I can't say that I blame him. She's pretty horrible! And why she would choose to go into pediatric dentistry is beyond me as she appears to have an extreme distaste towards children. Needless to say, we did not continue with the exam. We requested our children's files be transferred to our lovely local dentist. There is no need for a pediatric dentist if that's how your children will be treated. I have read other reviews and can see that many people share in this sort of an experience at Valley Pediatric Dentistry. Again, Dr. Heather Parsons is not good with children, or adults for that matter. She does not know how to be courteous or professional and is especially horrible to children. I have never worked with Dr. Gray, but I would steer way clear of Dr. Heather Parsons. read more
