Dr Snell got my daughter in quickly for an evaluation for lip/tongue tie. She was very knowledgeable and kind and immediately identified both a lip tie and a tongue tie in my daughter. She also took the time to show me both, which validated all of my suspicions. The procedures took less than 5 mins and my baby was totally fine, just a little fussy. We recently relocated to Carson and came across Big blue on yelp. Hands down the best pediatric dentist we've come across. My daughter gets anxious with doctor/dentist visits, however they were so personable, comforting, patient and kind. Dr. Snell and the girls were so sweet. My daughter cried a little at the beginning, but quickly became so comfortable here. The office is so fun! They have slides, games, movies, and toys suited for all ages. Find a better Dentist. Front desk lady is never helpful and rude. When asked why I had a no show fee I told them I had two messages for appointments 2 days apart and confirmed one of them Thinking there was a mistake. When arrived at the appointment font desk lady did not care, would not show me proof of this happening beforehand and refused to see patient unless fee was paid. Lost a 10 year customer. I have always had problems with Front desk staff. DONT RECOMMENDED. read more

If I had made a review for the last 4 years it would have absolutely been a 5 star, we have been seeing them since my children were infants and spoke accolades of Dr Snell to everyone we met. We have been to every checkup. But when it came down to it my kids need oral surgery and we were given an original itemized bill before insurance for 5k for both kids. It took over a month to get a quote for after insurance at just about 3k. So I asked for itemized bills with different options and if we could have the dr go over our options with certain concerns I have with anesthesia. They never got back to me but I called about a month later and they only answered a single question but that quote had gone up a thousand more without explanation and no communication from the drs. I expressed that I was upset and admittedly was not nice after the third price increase and lack of communication. Since this incident I've been about to speak with 3 other dentists within a week of asking for advice and they weren't even my dentist! I find it nervy that they'll ask for 4 thousand dollars but be unresponsive to questions about it, plus the never emailing the itemized bill. read more

Had to pay an absurd, amount of money because they claimed they told me. I'm a single mom of two and money is tight as it is. If I was notified of being out of network why would I take my kids here. I'm super picky with healthcare options for my son (I know I know we all are tho) just because I have some alternative views on care and medicine and higher standards for communication. Archer loooved the reception area, lots of fun toys to play with. He threw a tantrum when I said it was time to go. I really liked the way the area is set up- they have a couple chairs out in an open area where other kids are having their teeth cleaned while Archer had his check up. It allowed Archer to see that other kids were getting taken care of and everything was ok. Dr. Snell-Killam did a major procedure for Archer since his front teeth were pretty bad, we went to Renown and she gave him a number of caps and a couple fillings under anesthesia, with great results. My son was treated with care and respect at Wild About Smiles, Dr. Francis and staff earned my son's trust. We have been going to Dr.Francis for well over 7 years. We are from SF but due to the pandemic, we temporarily relocated from SF to Truckee. My six year old son needed a frenectomy to release his tongue to improve his speech and teeth alignment. I called a number of different pediatric dentist offices in Truckee and Reno. Most of the dentist offices that I called could not confirm how many frenectomies that the doctor had done, if the doctor used scissors, laser and if so what type of laser and what type of exercises that were recommended before having a frenectomy. They simply said to come in for your consultation and the doctor would explain and that the procedure would occur immediately afterwards if the doctor deemed it necessary. Big Blue Dentistry was the only place online that had information specific to a frenectomy, explained the process, discussed the value of myofunctional therapy and was willing to spend time over the phone to provide more detailed answers. Upon meeting Dr. Snell, we felt immediately comfortable. She took measurements similar to our myofunctional specialist in SF and provided an assessment of how necessary the surgery was or not in terms of the impact to his speech and his teeth/breathing. She didn't pressure us to have the procedure, but provided us with an objective evaluation. Since she had a son who needed a frenectomy, she decided to specialize in her helping other children and was well aware of what to look for and how to support it post operation. The procedure was very quick, but she spent a lot of time answering my questions and making my son and I feel comfortable both before and afterwards. She gave us her cell phone number following the procedure and said to reach out to her anytime. She check in on us the follow two morning to make sure that my son was okay and she continued to monitor us for a week post-procedure. I would highly recommend her. She is really knowledgeable and really cares about her patients. Even though we are an hour's drive away, we decided to go to her as our children's regular dentist. She is so knowledgeable, thoughtful and thorough in her approach that I felt like she was treating my children's care as if they were her own. My daughter is 19 months old and first saw Dr. Amy Snell for her tongue and lip tie release at 2 months old! Every visit here has been so welcoming! The waiting room has fun things for the kids to play on, the whole office is set up in a fun beach/ whale theme. All the staff is very friendly and efficient. My children are very skiddish around doctors, this staff not only are friendly and understanding but the office is designed to keep a happy feel and flow for the kids. From slides to several play areas, tablets and TV's on the ceilings. We have been to 4! Pediatric dentist all zero patience and none who actually cared about seeing INSIDE the kids mouths if they were squirmy. Well Dr.Snell and her staff helped get the job done. From sunglasses with the bright exam lights to even teaching the parents easier techniques to helping brush at home with toddlers! We love Dr. Snell at Big Blue Pediatric Dentistry! We started taking our son at 11 mo. They've redone the office a bit. Our son love the car play center, and they have a slide! I'm sure our son wouldn't have minded more time to play, but we were only there a few minutes before we were called back. Appointments are quick (we usually spend less than 30 minutes total time there), and everyone is so nice! I got a text message reminder for our last appointment which was the only reason I remembered we had one! Dr. Snell is amazing. My kiddo doesn't even have teeth! You see, my baby girl had a posterior tongue tie and her tongue was very restricted meaning she could not breastfeed well at all. My baby was having a hard time gaining weight and breastfeeding had become quite the stress on my family. Instead of giving up, I decided to try and remedy the situation. Before seeing Dr. Snell I saw a different pediatric dentist who basically told me that my daughter was fine and tongue ties are a total fad. After working with several IBCLC's I decided I needed a second opinion. Thank goodness I was referred to Dr. Snell. She was Extremely supportive when I was having second thoughts about putting my girl through the procedure. She made me feel super comfortable. She even has an adorable little nursing room with a changing station, rocking chair, and pillows. Her office is beautifully decorated and clean. She has saved my breastfeeding journey and for that I will be forever grateful. The procedure took less then 5 minutes. She was wonderful. The only thing I would change is doing the procedure earlier. I am even considering making the drive for future dental care for both my littles!! read more

I have been taking my son to see Dr. Aimee Snell for over 6 years and I will continue to take him to see her until he is too old to see a child dentist. She is so amazing with kids and knows how to get them to go through what is normally an uncomfortable at best situation. I am always impressed with her knowledge and preventative care instructions to make sure that we don't get the sugar bugs affecting our little one's teeth. Sadly my two very young children have a good amount of cavities, I know I know, I feel awful as a mother. I have seen two dentist prior to coming here and liked nothing about them. Seems everyone these days always wants to go the easy route and put children under, sedated, which can be very scary for a parent. I got the run around for months on other options and in the end was given no other options. How frustrating. Big Blue was amazing from our first call to set up an appointment, of which they got us in quickly! That day in fact! Upon arriving I was THRILLED to see a wonderfully setup waiting room for adults and children! Honestly, 5 stars right there alone!!!! They had already contacted our insurance and the other dental offices my children had seen to ensure they and we were up to date on everything! They pulled that off within the 30 minutes it took us to get to our appointment! Nice! The staff alone deserve 1,000 stars! Children are not very easy going at the dentist and my son is proof of that! We had to get a visual exam as well as X-rays on both children. Not once did I get frustrated vibes from Aimee or her staff, not once. After finding out my children needed some capping done we were informed of all our options and guess what, I do not have to put my little almost 2 year old to sleep to do so! A relief! This does mean however that the staff will be dealing with a most likely fussy child for a tad while they knock the procedure out. I'm extremley grateful that they will do so with patience and a calm attitude. Honestly couldn't be happier with today's visit. Also got great information on some better oral hygiene procedures we will be implementing immediately in our home. Thank you ALL at Big Blue Pediatric Dentistry!!!!
