Even worse ... when he comes in to "review" your teeth with the hygienist He will treat you like an "artichoke" in the chair. He will only advise the hygienist working on your teeth for him... what your dental needs are. So immensely disrespectful. I must add I am a licensed Veterinarian for the last 40 yrs. Legally... any medical professional can only advise and suggest care needed. As long as they document their record.. they are safe in caring for you as their dentist ... if you choose to wait till you want to move forward. Beware of this creep. Sadly... when I met him about 10yrs ago... in my gut... I knew he was vacuous and not my dentist. He's very gentle, goes out of his way to answer all of your questions to your satisfaction, and ensures you're comfortable. Parking is easy, they're on time (rare for Tahoe), and Dr. Baldwin is an artist who is committed to your health and appearance. I'm 65, so I've been around long enough and in enough cities to have some good dentists and some almost callous and dishonest dentists. Dr. Baldwin stands out among the best dentists ever. Escobar at this facility. I called and spoke to a nice girl named Ally and she scheduled me in fast for X-rays & a Complete Exam in 2 weeks. She said she would check for a cancellation and schedule me for my Cleaning. When I got to the office for my appointment the staff said I could have my Cleaning done that day and not have to come back in on another date . X-rays were done right in my dental chair with the new technology they have and they went well. Then I met the Julio R. Escobar the Dentist to give me my Complete Exam. He was very nice and I liked him. He found a small cavity and said it wouldn't take very long to fill. Then I had my Cleaning and the Dental Hygienist was very nice and did a good & careful job cleaning my teeth. She even gave me a Fluoride Treatment. Afterwards, Ally said I could come back to the office in only 5 days to have my cavity filled. I came back for my next appointment and Julio did a professional & painless job in taking care of my cavity. I am very happy with the nice & helpful staff (Ally & Sarah), the good Dental Assistant (Maritza), the pleasant Dental Hygienist (Kristin), & Julio E.Escobar the Dentist! Where do I begin... Dr. Van Patten is a one of a kind doctor!!! As I was getting ready to move out…read moreof the Carson City area, I wanted to get my teeth cleaned, as expected he was booked out weeks in advance. However, I explained my situation to the front staff (which are wonderful by the way, both of the ladies have smiles that light up the whole room), they relayed the message to Dr. Van Patten and he immediately got me in. Jaime, my hygienist was wonderful, the fact that I remember her name just goes to show how great she was. I actually felt that I having an honest conversation with her, you know, not the kind of conversations where all you can do is "uhhh huhh" or nod and shake your head, but not too fast because your mouth is wide open with sharp tools. She took the time to explain to me everything she was doing and paused often to talk and to make sure I was doing okay. Anyways, back to the doc. As soon as Dr. Van Patten came in, we had a nice conversation (unrelated about teeth), I told him that I was taking a class in school that taught me the anatomy of the mouth and teeth, so of course he shows me xrays of my own teeth and quizzes me on the anatomy of my tooth..... got like an 80% on that quiz :) At the end of my check, he asked me about my future goals, plans, etc, and wished me the best on my travels. He walked me up to the front desk, gave me a sample of toothpaste, and a firm hand shake. I now recently moved to another state, but I plan to continue my dental appointments with Dr. Van Patten whenever I return for winter and summer breaks. I wish I could give this office more than just 5 stars, cause they really are something special. I give the Doctor and his staff my highest recommendation for anyone in the area that is trying to receive a one of a kind dental care.
