She put in many hours fixing up the place I had just bought to get it rentable; these were unpaid hours; the only way she saw any money from her hard work was in the management company fee. She knows the island and its resources; she has access to handyman-types and to people who sell appliances. Mine is an odd-shaped, small condo at the top of a flight of steep narrow stairs, and Gail organized and executed the almost-impossible tasks of getting a unique-sized stove and other appliances up the stairs and into the condo. Gail worked with me to find a suitable renter, and while I'll admit that the company's unwillingness to use Craigslist is a little inconvenient, their reasons--which they explained to me patiently--are sound. Probably NOT a good company if you're a renter trying to scam or abuse the place or the people, but if you have integrity and are responsible, you should be good!

The day after booking and paying for this property we get an email from Patricia requesting another almost $500 or she will cancel our booking! We contact VRBO who tells us not to pay because she has a legally binding contract with us for the price that we paid since we had already paid. They say they are contacting her and everything will be worked out. Well four days later Patricia cancels our rental now we are searching for another rental with even slimmer pickings in Maui for Christmas. After reading other reviews I'm so glad we aren't staying in anything under her management. She is running a scam trying to get more money after entering a contact with paid customers.

On July 31, 2025--just before the realty office closed--I received an email stating that my reservation was canceled because the owner decided to renovate. When I called the office immediately to ask about alternative options, I was shocked by the treatment I received. The representative I spoke with, Jessica, was rude, unprofessional, and completely unsympathetic. She raised her voice, told me they "aren't making any money," and insisted I shouldn't be upset because they were "just doing their job." When I reminded her that she's in customer service and should be more understanding toward someone whose vacation had just been upended, she told me it wasn't her fault and offered no help or solutions. This was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. The lack of notice, the timing of the cancellation, and the unprofessional response made it clear that customer care is not a priority for Bello Realty. I will never rent from Bello Realty again, and I would not recommend them to anyone planning a vacation to Maui to rent through them.

They have connections to all the trades and can get a plumber, handyman etc over to my property often the same day, which is critical to keeping up the level of service I want for my guests. They are personable and professional, a pleasure to work with, and charge far less than a traditional property management company. I recommend them highly to any vacation rental owner.

Consumer misrepresentation is a crime and we will not sit back and be victimized by either party. If you see CB Vacation Rentals as a host - RUN away as fast as your feet will carry you. We are seasoned global travelers and have never experienced anything remotely like this. And we travel 1/2 the year to remote places where even in remote Patagonia, India, Mongolia, the Mekong...have never experienced such lies.
