She was able to relocate to Wailuku and live with a relative, and then into her own home. In addition to this, it was soon discovered that her niece had a rare form of cancer, and soon after passed away. I am on Oahu and was able to call Maui Green Gardens and was able to speak with the owner, Quirino Hipoloti. Over the phone I ordered a Puakenikeni tree from his nursery to commemorate my friends niece and he hand delivered it to her doorstep. I thank Mr Hipoloti for all his kindness, and all done over the phone with the aloha spirit.

Not what we expected when we read "gardens". It is more like an event space with lots of food…read moretrucks amongst the trees. Not like a garden you walk through with different plants and flowers. They have lots of things, though. There was a yoga session happening in the middle lawn area. They have a butterfly area, even though the butterflies were somewhere else. There is an aging tortoise, I forget his name. There are also different businesses in the buildings, like a spa and a salon. There are different small vendors with their booths and several food trucks; although, some were not open in the morning and the Thai food truck had all their items sold out on their menu already. The prices were even more pricier than the food trucks at Maui Food Trucks. One vendor had hand crafted desserts for $20/piece! I admired from afar, haha. Everything is advertised as "farm to table" maybe justifying their prices. We shared an acai bowl and it was mid. The the peanut butter was just scraped on the side of the bowl. Our typical acai bowls at least put the peanut/almond butter in the middle like any other topping so you can get an even bite with everything. But the dallop of peanut butter just on the side, it was like we ordered peanut butter on the side of our acai bowl. It was weird. I bet it's more alive at night with more food trucks open and live music. We came and saw and didn't come back. I can see how it can be great for families with toddlers running around, giving them a safe space to burn their energy. Until then, this probably won't be the top of our list.

South Maui Gardens is a nice place to stop to look at some trinkets and pick up some food from one…read moreof the many food trucks. The area is lush with lots of plants and there a many vendors along the path where you can pick up a souvenir or gift to take home with you. The trucks offer a lot of different dishes to experience, my favorite being the one that sold Hawaiian plates, e.g. Kalua Pork and mac. It's a great place to stop by, relax and chill after a hard day of adventures. Surrounding parking is easy and plentiful. The area to the back of the lots has lots of parking space.

This alerted me but, I gave them credit because I had purchased from the nursery over several years. It was the staff that encouraged us to use them for design and installation work. Realize it is hard to find staff which makes committing to a schedule difficult, but dragging a customer on was not a good approach. I'm a positive reviewer type, want to help out local businesses over WalMart. Hard to write this but feel others should go in aware in the hope they have a better experience. The nursery has limited hours, not necessarily the hours posted. Went by several times when they were supposed to be open but were closed.

After driving to our two big corporate box store nurseries, unable to procure a pretty common product, or any kind of customer service regarding availability, ordering, or the like, I felt pretty disillusioned, and more than frustrated. Pulling out my trusty Yelp app, I was able to locate Ohana Greenhouse and Garden Supply within several miles of my then-current location. Tucked into a long strip of warehouse's in Kahului's industrial area, behind a local fish market, I found a helpful worker who immediately offered me the assistance I was looking for and that is severely lacking elsewhere. Not only did they have the product I was looking for, but a quick look revealed a very nice assortment of amendments, potting supplies, and other items for the back yard horticulturist.
