Back in September 2023 reported issue of Tesla Powerwall+ not working correctly…read more The issue is during daylight hours the battery will switch over to standby mode where we do not have use of energy until dark (about 6pm) For instance if we charge car or use dryer during the day solar energy may only provide 50% of energy needed it should pull remaining energy needed from battery but instead it pulls from the grid. This is when the battery is at 100%. Two separate occasions Sep-Dec 2023 Haleakala Solar came out and attempted repairs. Throughout this time I reported approximately 20 to 30 emails with screenshots documenting issue and that issue was still occurring I contacted battery bonus program to see if this could be an issue. And also to cancel the installation of program since Haleakala Solar never provided HECO proper documentation for HECO to validate data.. I had to fill out a form send it in to get this program canceled since Haleakala Solar wouldn't. In December President Jim Whitcomb during phone call even admitted that Haleakala failed on their part getting the battery bonus program working and lack of service he assured me they would get it working. I asked Haleakala Solar several times could this issue be related to Battery program that was never successfully hooked up and I was assuring no. Contacted Tesla after several long 15 to 20 minute phone calls with them plus numerous emails documenting issue back and forth. As of early December it's in Tesla Tier two tech support and their recommendation December 24, 2023 was "Further your advanced settings need to be changed to export everything as opposed to solar only. Please go to settings, powerwall scroll down to advanced settings, permission to export to change the setting. Which I emailed to Haleakala Solar and they never came out to try. In late December conference call with Jim Whitcomb president and Mokihana Techical Lead at Haleakala Solar sent him screenshots of issue. Mokihana guessed it was low internet signal and they were to install a booster. I sent him Tesla's recommendation. They never came out to try either fix. From December to Feb to sent emails to Haleakala Solar documenting issue still occurring. And my new strategy was to find another solar company and bill Haleakala for its repair. Several companies didn't want to get involved in another's mess. 2/14/24 Filed BBB complaint which they said responded "We are working on finding a solution to what is happening with the battery at Mr. Taylors house. I will contact out head electrician and the owner and see when the soonest we can get out there will be. " 2/23/24 Filed compliant with State of Hawaii DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS 3/1/24 Sent Haleakala Solar a registered letter including a demand to repair within 14 days or face legal action for breach of warranty. Needless to say I'm sure when this is resolved I will never get any help from Haleakala Solar on any warranty service. Its worth it though letting everyone know our experience with Haleakala Solar's unbelievably poor service.

Below is an email I had written to the owner of Maui Disposal, please give it a read, its a wonderful feel good email: "Dear Mr. Clyde Kaneshiro, I just wanted to express my gratitude towards the kindness of one of your workers over at Maui Disposal. Raymond (we call him Uncle Happy) picks up the dumpster bins at Kaahumanu Church. My 3-year old son, Mauloa, absolutely LOVES garbage trucks and is always standing outside our house waiting for our Maui County rubbish pick ups on Tuesday and Friday, our neighbors County pick up on Mondays, and the churches Maui Disposal pick up on Thursdays. As soon as we see Raymond driving up Main Street in Wailuku, we can already see his big smile and see him waving at Mau. As a mother, it just melts my heart to see wonderful people who my son idolizes show such delightful feedback to these keiki. Mau always gets so excited and will talk about Uncle Happy all day. On Christmas Eve, I heard the Maui Disposal truck picking up the rubbish while I got ready for work. My son had already left for the day with my father in law so I was disappointed that he wasn't going to get to see Uncle Happy that day. I left the house and have to walk past the church to get to work and got to see Uncle Happy in the parking lot. I told him good morning and that my son would be so bummed that he missed him! Uncle Happy expressed his disappointment as well and said, "Oh no, where is he today!?" I told him my father in law is babysitting since my normal care giver is on vacation. Uncle Happy reached for something next to him and handed me a HUGE wrapped present with 3 little trucks AND a Maui Disposal dumpster bin attached to it! "We have a present for him! Can you please give it to him?" How thoughtful is that!? He probably doesn't know how much he just MADE Mau's Christmas!! I was just so overwhelmed at this unbelievably kind gesture. Uncle Happy (I learned that morning that his real name is Raymond!) already goes above and beyond by smiling and waving to Mau. We are already so grateful that he always has a BIG smile (which is how he got the name Uncle Happy!) when he says HI to Mau and we just appreciate so much how much it makes Mau's day. Mau was very excited to open his gift from Uncle Raymond and the Maui Disposal `Ohana on Christmas morning. His reaction was PRICELESS. I have never seen my son jump up and down in excitement as much as he did when he opened his gift and saw a new garbage truck! He has so many garbage trucks but not this one! It looked just like the Maui Disposal Truck he loves to see on Thursdays. I gotta say, Uncle Happy and the Maui Disposal team trumped Santa big time this Christmas! Thank you VERY much to Raymond. Thank you for being such a wonderful person, for keeping the spirit of Christmas alive, and for being a great reflection on Maui Disposal. We wish all of you the very best in the new year! Uncle Api, Uncle Kai, Uncle Alex, Mau knows all their names! Besides being such great guys, they bust their okole doing their job and Mau loves to watch them jump out of the truck and pull out the dumpster bins for Uncle Happy to dump into the rubbish truck. He is always amazed how easy Uncle Happy makes it look and wants to do both jobs when he gets older so you guys better keep some positions open for Mau! ;) OH and of course did I mention Holoholo Ka`a!?!?!
